Chapter 437 The Intensity of Emotions Soars

"Marry me," Samuel's voice was like a magnet, drawing her in.

His eyes were deep and determined, like a hawk's.

Layla felt a jolt in her heart, making it tremble.

In that moment, those three words from Samuel hit her soul.

Layla suddenly felt breathless and looked down, her gaze flustered.

Her heart was in chaos too.

She clutched the bedsheet tightly with her small hands.

"Once you're my wife, let's see who dares to come near you," he said, lifting her chin. Layla looked at him, nervous and shy.

She knew she must look a mess right now.

"I don't want to pressure you, but I want the whole world to know you're mine. Let those damn flies back off, knowing anyone who tries to take you will regret it!" Samuel's eyes turned fierce and cold.

Letting go of a fool didn't mean he was soft; he was never lenient in this regard.

Layla's heart raced, falling into Samuel's vortex, like a storm sweeping her away. She loved his domineering nature.

Without dwelling on the previous topic, Samuel's eyes softened, and his voice became gentle. "This time it was my fault. Forgive me, will you?"

With Samuel saying this, Layla felt even more ashamed. It was her fault first. But her pride still made her hum stubbornly. "Considering your sincere apology, I'll reluctantly forgive you this time."

Samuel knew she was being tsundere and had already forgiven him in her heart. But he wouldn't expose her, instead showing a grateful gesture with a smile. "Thank you, baby, for your generosity and mercy."

Layla laughed. "Mercy? Is it that exaggerated?"

"Even more exaggerated than that," Samuel placed her small hand on his heart. "When you get angry, I get worried, my whole heart tightens, it hurts, and I can't breathe. I'm completely under your control now; you are my life."

Layla's heart melted. Because she knew this wasn't just sweet talk; he saw her as his life, even more important.

Love was a double-edged sword; caring too much could easily hurt each other. Fortunately, every argument didn't tear their hearts apart but instead brought them closer, deepening their understanding, and teaching them to be more tolerant.

"I'm sorry," Layla said softly.

"Sorry for being too beautiful?" Samuel teased.

Layla laughed again. "That's right, it's not my fault for being this pretty. Who would have thought that as a four-month pregnant woman, I would still be so sweet and cute, with a slender figure."

"Yes, you're right."

Speaking of this, Layla brought up the resignation matter.

"But the handover will take five more days, so if possible..." Layla was just asking, already prepared not to return to the company.

"Of course, I don't want you to see him again, but I know you always finish what you start. Those are your hard work, and if you don't arrange them properly, you won't be at ease."

"Yes, but I'm more afraid of you being unhappy."

"I think you've learned your lesson this time." Samuel tapped her nose.

"I remember, but you're very important. I don't want you to be even a little unhappy." Layla was now more obedient than a clingy cat.

After the argument, their affection skyrocketed to 200%, sweet to the point of bubbling over.

Samuel held Layla close, looking down at her with a gentle smile. "I don't want you to have any regrets. Making you have a baby right after graduation was already unfair. With the pregnancy and the baby, you won't be able to work for at least three years. So before that, I hope you can finish well, without any regrets."

Layla's eyes welled up. "Honey, you're so considerate."

She nuzzled into Samuel's arms, feeling a surge of affection that words couldn't capture.

Layla wanted to grab his face and smother him with kisses.

"I wasn't always this considerate, but you tamed me." Samuel kissed the top of her head. He had smoothed his rough edges for her, pulled out his thorns. It was painful, but worth it.

"I know you're the best, always so tolerant of me. Don't worry, in the next few years, I probably won't have the chance to meet any other men, so you don't have to be jealous anymore."

When he was jealous, it was scary. She didn't dare to get close to other men anymore. No, she didn't dare to let other men get too close to her.

"My woman is so beautiful and cute, those flies will try every way to take advantage. I can't let my guard down."

Layla giggled. "Having a pretty girlfriend comes with this trouble, can't help it."

She suddenly laughed.

"What are you laughing at?"

"Nothing, just how Brian tried to stir up trouble between us, but instead, we became closer."

Samuel sneered, "Our relationship isn't something a clown can stir up."

Then he pinched Layla's chin, giving a serious warning. "Don't think about him anymore."

"Yes, I won't. From now on, my mind and eyes are all on you."

"Sweet talker, give me a kiss." Samuel kissed her, and it was indeed sweet, sweet to the heart.

After this, Samuel felt even more clearly that in a relationship, he was just an ordinary person, a person of flesh and blood, who would get jealous and worried, whose mood would rise and fall like a roller coaster because of her, who would fear losing her, and who would cherish each other more after an argument.

It was great to experience all the ups and downs of life with Layla, tasting all kinds of emotions.

When James entered the ward with the documents.

"You eat, I've already had several pieces."

"The doctor said to eat more apples."

"Then you should eat too, I rarely see you eat fruit."

"Okay, one piece for you, one piece for me."

"Yes."

On the hospital bed, Samuel held Layla, feeding each other apples.

Layla, feeling shy, secretly buried her face in Samuel's strong arm.

This scene looked just like a loving couple.

James suddenly felt a twinge of sadness. When they were affectionate, he felt tormented. When they argued, the torment intensified. Either way, he was always the one bearing the brunt.

James had thoughts of falling in love suddenly, but did he have time for it? No. So he could only continue to be tormented pitifully.

"Boss, there's a document for your signature."

"Leave it."

Seeing James hesitate, Layla quickly pulled her head out of Samuel's embrace. "If James brought it, it must be urgent. You should sign it first."
