Chapter 655: I Am More Suitable for You

Juniper clenched her jaw, hopped in the car, and slammed the door like she was mad at it.

"Whoa, easy there! This ride's worth over ten mil and it's fresh off the lot."

"Do you even care? Keep bugging me and I'll rip the door off," Juniper shot back.

Ronnie just laughed, "Forget the door, if you're tough enough, try taking me apart."

"Why are you so damn annoying?"

"Why are you so damn fierce?" Ronnie shot back, grinning. "I show up first thing in the morning, and this is the thanks I get? Do you know how many ladies are waiting on me? And here I am, playing chauffeur for you."

"Then go to them. I don't give a damn."

"But I dig how you don't dig me," Ronnie said, all casual.

"In other words, you're a masochist."

Ronnie nodded, "Yep, glutton for punishment."

"Just drive."

Seeing her pissed-off face, Ronnie couldn't help but feel amused. He handed her a breakfast box.

"I've got my own breakfast," Juniper snapped.

"This is from Culinary Cove, the best in town."

Even the box looked fancy.

Juniper's heart softened a bit. When she was a kid, her mom used to take her to Culinary Cove, and she loved their pastries. After moving abroad, she missed their breakfast the most. Since coming back, she always wanted to go but never managed to wake up early enough.

"What are you spacing out for? It'll get cold."

She didn't want to eat anything from Ronnie; she had her pride.

Juniper pouted and tossed it back, "I don't want it."

"It's really good."

"No matter how good, it's poisoned if it came from you."

"You're the one who's hooked," Ronnie teased. "Why else would I be trying so hard to please you? I started missing you right after we met last night."

Juniper got goosebumps, "Cut the sweet talk, I hate it."

"I'm serious. I really miss you. Can't even remember the last time I missed a girl. Must've been my first crush at twelve."

"First crush at twelve? No wonder you're a player now," Juniper mocked.

"I'm not a player."

"Then what are you? Leaving a piece of yourself with every girl you meet?"

"Haha..." Ronnie laughed, "Nope, my heart's still mine. No one's gotten in. Wanna give it a shot?"

He gave her a playful look.

"Eyes on the road. I don't want to crash with you."

"Wouldn't it be romantic to live and die together?"

"Living and dying with you? I'd never rest in peace."

Juniper wanted to show how much she didn't care, but Ronnie just laughed, "You're hilarious. I gotta keep bugging you."

Juniper thought she had thick skin, but Ronnie made her feel like an amateur.

"Alright, just eat it. It's not poisoned."

"Just eat it, please?"

The breakfast smelled amazing, making Juniper's stomach growl. She didn't have many weaknesses, but being a foodie was one of them. She bit her lip, "Fine, you're begging me to eat it."

"Yep, I'm begging. Now eat."

She opened the box, and inside was the perfect omelet she wanted. Nailed it.

Juniper took a big bite, her mouth bursting with cheesy goodness.

"Damn, this is good."

Seeing her happy face, Ronnie grinned and handed her a napkin, "You're making a mess. Is it that good? First time having an omelet?"

"Of course not. I used to have them all the time when I was a kid. Always missed this place."

"So I just happened to get your fave? Don't you think we have a special connection? I totally get you."

"Omelets are Culinary Cove's thing. I probably have a connection with half the city."

"You can't have a connection with anyone else, just me, got it?"

"Are you trying to be some bossy CEO?"

"I am a bossy CEO. I'm worth billions. Think about marrying me."

"No chance."

"Why not? I'm good-looking, charming, and I treat you well."

"Marrying a player? That’s like signing up for heartbreak."

"Maybe you could tame me."

"Yeah, right. I don't buy your crap. Players are always unfaithful. I'm not dumb enough to think I can be the exception. To guys like you, women are all the same."

"You know men pretty well."

"Obviously, so don't waste your tricks on me. It's useless."

"I'm a player, but isn't Anthony one too?"

"Absolutely not. He's one of the good ones, a real gentleman," Juniper felt a wave of sweetness and pride talking about the guy she liked.

"All men are the same."

"Yeah, but Anthony's different from you. So, once we get out of this car, let's go our separate ways and pretend we don't know each other. Don't contact me again."

"Using me and then tossing me aside, you're cold."

"Stop making it sound so shady. I'm eating breakfast, not eating you."

"So you wanna 'eat' me..." Ronnie gave her a flirty look.

Juniper wanted to shove the omelet in his mouth.

At the company.

"Bye, hope I never see you again," Juniper unbuckled her seatbelt.

"Let's grab dinner tonight," Ronnie grabbed her hand.

"Why are you so free? Don't you have work?"

"Who said that? I'm super busy, but I always make time for you. You're worth it."

"You're not worth my time," Juniper was so fed up she wanted to cry.

"Go to work. See you tonight."

Juniper was about to say something when she noticed a pair of intense eyes on her.

Oh crap, Anthony.

He got out of the Bentley across the street, looking at her with a heavy gaze.

His eyes weren't as calm as usual; he seemed a bit pissed.

Juniper quickly pulled her hand away from Ronnie's.

"Why rush? He hasn't even called you his girlfriend."

"Ronnie, can you stop messing with me? Don't come looking for me anymore."

"No way. I'm really into you right now. How could I not look for you? I'll not only look for you but also do it every day. I'll pick you up from work, have meals with you..."

"I refuse," Juniper said firmly.

Ronnie shrugged, "Refusal denied. There's a saying, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Slowly, you'll see my good side and start liking me. A guy as fun as me can't be compared to someone as boring as Anthony."

"I bet it won't take long for you to find Anthony boring. Compared to him, I'm way more suitable for you. Alright, go to work. See you tonight," He added.
