Chapter 825 Going Back to Face It Together
It was rare for Juniper not to sleep in today. She got up early and even dragged Anthony out of bed.
Wearing the goose-yellow dress she had picked out, they set off.
After a night of mental preparation, she was back to her usual self—graceful and poised, exuding the aura of a true lady.
Brenda was quite impressed by her today. She had noticed Juniper's good looks yesterday, but today, with a bit of grooming, she looked even more dazzling.
As a mother, she naturally favored her own son and thought Anthony was exceptional.
But she had to admit that the two of them standing together looked perfect, and Juniper was not overshadowed in the least.
After some conversation, she also found that this girl was not just a pretty face; she was smart and articulate, which made Brenda like her even more.
"Anthony, don't you have to go to work? I'll accompany Mrs. Eilish shopping this afternoon," Juniper said.
Yesterday, she had been a bit nervous and couldn't find topics to talk about with Brenda.
But today, after chatting, she found they had a lot in common and got along easily, so she wasn't afraid anymore.
"Okay." Anthony smiled slightly, also wanting to give them some time alone to bond.
Around eight in the evening.
"Anthony, open the door!" Juniper called from outside.
Anthony had just loosened his tie and went to open the door, only to see Juniper with her hands full of luxury brand shopping bags.
"I'm exhausted. These are so heavy, I couldn't even hold the card."
"Why did you buy so much?"
"Women shopping—this isn't much at all. Your mom bought even more and had it sent back to the hotel. Luckily, she has a private jet; otherwise, it would be hard to carry all this."
Juniper threw everything onto the sofa, excitedly saying, "Let me show you my spoils."
Anthony chuckled, "Weren't you always uninterested in bags and jewelry?"
"I never said I wasn't interested. No woman isn't interested in these things. I just said I'm not as crazy about them as others. But who doesn't like pretty bags? That wouldn't be a woman. And the key point is, all of these were gifts from your mom."
"Looks like my mom really likes you."
"Of course, a pretty girl like me who is loved by everyone—how could anyone not like me? Especially the elders." Juniper said proudly.
"And yesterday, someone was so anxious, worried about making a bad impression?"
"Well, I've made up for it now."
"Look at this bag, the pink one. Doesn't it just scream summer?" Juniper boasted, "And this one, it's a limited edition, perfect for my work outfits."
"And these earrings, your mom has the same pair. We agreed to wear them together next time."
"And, and, this one, this one."
Juniper introduced everything in one breath.
Anthony didn't really understand these bags, but seeing Juniper so happy made him happy too. "As long as you like them."
"Of course I like them. Each one was personally chosen by me, and most importantly, they are gifts from your mom. They are my treasures."
"And you are my treasure." Anthony kissed her on the lips.
She smiled, and his world lit up, making him want to smile along with her.
"I'm going to take a shower; it's so hot."
"Okay."
For the next three days, Anthony was busy with work, and Juniper happily took on the "task" of accompanying Brenda around Harmony City.
They went out early every morning and didn't return until evening.
"My legs are so sore."
"Oh my god, I've shopped more in these few days than I have in my entire life."
"Your mom is definitely the most shopping-loving woman I've ever met. Good thing your family is wealthy, or you'd be bankrupt."
"If you're tired, don't go shopping. Take a day off." Anthony placed her legs on his lap.
"Be gentle, be gentle. Your mom is so enthusiastic; how could I disappoint her? Shopping with her is actually quite fun, just a bit tiring for the legs, nothing else."
"Thank you for your hard work."
"Of course, shopping is more tiring than my job." Juniper grumbled, but her lips were still curved in a smile.
"By the way, your mom is going back the day after tomorrow, right?"
"Yes."
"Then let's go back together."
"Together?" Anthony looked at her in surprise.
"Yes, didn't you want me to go back with you before? I've thought about it. Since I'll have to meet your dad sooner or later, it's better to do it sooner."
"Plus, I have some vacation time, and I haven't seen my dad in almost three months. I want to go back and see him."
"Okay, thank you for being so considerate." Anthony couldn't help but pull her into his arms and kiss her forehead.
"I'm so good to you. If you ever dare to let me down, I'll kill you."
"I won't, never. I'd rather let the whole world down than let you down even a little." Holding her hand, Anthony said, "Juniper, I want to marry you. As long as you agree, we can get married anytime."
"Let's get past your dad first."
"He will definitely like you."
"I know he will eventually like me, but it might be tough at first. After all, he's still mad about you running away from the wedding. He'll probably blame it on me, so it won't be easy."
"Are you scared?"
"Not really scared, just mentally prepared. I can definitely win your dad over, no worries."
"I love your confidence."
Juniper flipped her hair and said confidently, "Confidence comes from ability."
Anthony laughed, "Not only are you capable, but you also have many faces. Sometimes you're charming, sometimes quirky, sometimes funny."
"Who's funny? You're annoying." Juniper slapped him, "You have the nerve to talk about me. You're often so childish, okay? Not only childish but also very clingy. Who was it that said they were like glue before?"
"It was me. I still admit I'm like glue. I want to stick to you all the time and never let go for a lifetime." Anthony said as he hugged her again, making Juniper squeal.
"No hugging."
"Who told you to hug so tightly, Anthony."
"Let go of me, you're annoying."
They laughed and played together, their laughter sweet, and even the air they breathed was sweet.
Lying on the sofa, she rested her head on his arm, listening to his heartbeat.
He occasionally lowered his head to kiss her forehead.
Juniper thought peacefully, 'This is so nice.'
She just wanted to stay like this forever, never to be apart.
She was actually very confident about this relationship.
But when people are too happy, they often have a common problem: worrying that happiness will disappear.
Her hand around his waist couldn't help but hold him a little tighter, murmuring, "Anthony, no matter what we have to face when we go back this time, I won't back down. I'll face it with you."
"Don't worry, I'll protect you."
"Yes, I know. As long as you're here, I feel secure and fear nothing." Juniper smiled up at him from his embrace.
Their lips met in another deep kiss.
