Chapter 896 He Still Left

"I..." Brynn's tears fell like rain, like a child who had done something wrong.

"I'm sorry, you're right, I was too selfish. I didn't realize it, but I wanted the best for you. I never intended to control you or make you my accessory. Eldon, I really never thought that way."

"Can you, can you stay? You don't have to follow me anymore. I'll ask my dad to get you a higher position, or, or help you start a company, okay?"

Brynn pleaded, "As long as I can see you every day, no, not every day, just often. I won't cling to you, I won't interfere with your work. You don't have to avoid me by going abroad, Eldon."

"As long as you're here, I can't live a life that's truly my own, so I have to leave. I'm sorry!" Every word Eldon spoke felt like his heart was being torn apart.

"Don't you want me anymore? You promised you'd always be with me, Eldon. You said you'd never abandon me!"

"You can't do this to me, you can't!" Brynn grabbed his arm.

Eldon shook off her hand. "I've done everything I could for you. From now on, I need to start my own life."

"Eldon, Eldon, don't go, Eldon..." Brynn cried as she chased after him, falling to the ground.

"Brynn..."

"Dad, stop Eldon, don't let him leave."

"Dad, I'm begging you, I need Eldon, I can't live without him."

"Go after him, Dad!"

Atticus said painfully, "Since Eldon has made his decision, you should respect it. He deserves to live his own life."

"I don't want to! Dad, please help me get him back. I'll apologize to him. I really didn't mean to control him."

Brynn broke down in tears.

She had never felt such pain in her life, not even a fraction of this. She felt like she was dying, her world collapsing.

"Eldon..."

Seeing her cry so miserably, Atticus felt immense sorrow. Had he made the wrong decision?

But it was too late. He told himself that short-term cruelty was for her future. He had to stick to it.

It had to be this way!

Brynn was too emotional and fainted from crying.

"Quick, call a doctor."

Eldon drove away as if escaping, only stopping when he was far away. His eyes were already filled with painful tears, bloodshot.

After a long time, the tears fell.

'Eldon, Eldon, don't leave me.'

'Eldon, don't go!'

Brynn reached out, crying and running, calling his name, but he didn't look back, getting farther and farther away. She couldn't stop him.

"Eldon—" she woke up, crying out in pain.

"Brynn." Atticus quickly held her.

"Where's Eldon? I want him! Bring him here, Dad! I need to see him!"

"It's too late, he's already at the airport."

"What? The airport. No, I need to get him back, Eldon—" Brynn frantically struggled, falling to the ground, "Eldon, don't go—don't go—"

"Brynn." Atticus's heart ached.

"Dad, I need to go to the airport. I need to get Eldon back. I can't live without him, Eldon... Dad, I'm begging you, don't let him go. I, I love Eldon!"

"What did you say?" Atticus was stunned.

"I love him!"

"You, you two are just siblings. You're confused about your feelings."

Brynn shook her head desperately, "No, I'm not confused. I love Eldon. I want to marry him. I want to be with him for the rest of my life."

She said resolutely.

"Brynn, you're just reluctant to let him go suddenly, but that's not love, it's just familial affection. You're confused. In the future, you'll meet the man you truly love. I promise you, I'll find you a good man."

"I don't want that! I only want Eldon! I really love him, Dad. I love him. Please help me keep him, okay? Without him, I'll really die, Dad, I'm begging you."

Celestia, seeing her cry so painfully, couldn't help but wipe her own tears.

"Honey, just let them be. Eldon may be an orphan, but he's a good man. Trusting Brynn to him is more reassuring than anyone else. Don't you want Brynn to be happy? Eldon is her happiness."

Atticus frowned in conflict, feeling very confused.

He knew Brynn would be reluctant, but he didn't expect her to be so devastated, nor did he expect her to say she loved Eldon.

Was it really right to take away his daughter's love?

"I, I need to call him." Brynn anxiously took out her phone and called, but Eldon had blocked her.

"I need to go to the airport."

"He's flying in an hour, you won't make it." Atticus tried to stop her.

"I don't care, I can't just watch him leave." Brynn shook her head desperately.

At this point, Atticus could only compromise. "Fine, I'll go to the airport with you. If you can catch him, it means you two are meant to be, and I'll agree to you being together. If you can't, it means you're not meant to be, and you should let him go."

"Hurry, faster!" Brynn kept urging the driver.

"Ms. Elise, I'm already going as fast as I can. Any faster and there will be an accident," the driver said.

"Eldon is leaving. I have to catch up to him, please."

"Please, he can't leave."

The driver went as fast as possible, but they arrived at the airport at 9:40.

Atticus held Brynn. "He's probably already on the plane. You won't catch him."

"I don't care. If I can't catch him, I'll go to Novaria to find him." Brynn searched frantically. Eldon, Eldon, where are you?

"If you can't catch him this time, then let him go. I won't tell you where he is in Novaria." Atticus said firmly.

The chance of catching Eldon now was only one percent. Unless they were destined to be together, a miracle wouldn't happen.

If it was truly meant to be, Atticus would accept it. Otherwise, he would still stop it.

"Eldon! Eldon!"

"Eldon—Eldon—" Brynn shouted, "Don't go, Eldon, don't leave me—"

All the passengers looked at her, watching her cry out in sorrow, calling that name.

"Eldon—"

9:50.

"He's already gone. Let's go back."

"I don't want to. He hasn't left. He won't leave me. He promised to stay with me forever. He won't leave."

Brynn sat on the ground, repeatedly crying out in pain, "Eldon, don't go, don't leave me, I love you."

"Eldon, come back..."

Brynn cried her heart out, her heart breaking.

But he still left.
