Chapter 699 Resign

"Man, you're just using me! I'm a girl, and you saw everything!" Juniper kept whacking him with a pillow, totally pissed.

Ronnie's brain finally clicked, and he snatched the pillow, tossing it aside, and yelled, "So what? I'm not some guy who doesn't take responsibility!"

"Who asked you to take responsibility?"

"Didn't I let you see the top too? Fair's fair." Ronnie said, starting to unbuckle his belt.

"Stop! I don't wanna see!" Juniper screamed, covering her eyes and bolting.

"I'm just messing with you. I'm not that creepy."

"Not creepy? You're the creepiest!" Juniper snapped, "Put your clothes on. You're hurting my eyes."

"Aren't my clothes dirty 'cause you puked on them? Had to toss 'em, and now I got nothing to wear. Waiting for my assistant to bring me new ones."

Juniper shot back, "Then wrap yourself in a sheet. Just don't let me see you."

"Why so scared to look? Afraid my hot bod will make you jump me? It's cool. If you wanna jump, go ahead. I won't stop you!" Ronnie teased.

"Get lost. What's so great about you?"

Ronnie smirked, "My pecs and eight-pack not good enough?"

His body was like a statue, and every time he hit the gym, women would drool over him.

Only Juniper found him gross.

"I don't like skinny guys. All muscles, no brains, you know? I'm done with you. I'm taking a shower."

She reeked of booze.

Juniper showered and came out to find Ronnie already dressed.

"Your clothes arrive?" she asked.

Ronnie looked way better with clothes on.

But he was still a jerk, dressed or not!

"I'm starving," Ronnie complained.

"And that's my problem how?"

"I took care of you all night, and there's no breakfast? That's cold."

"No one asked you to take care of me. You just wanted to take advantage, right? Don't act all noble."

Thinking about how he saw everything made Juniper super uncomfortable. She wanted to strangle him.

"If I said I had my eyes closed the whole time, would you believe me?" Ronnie asked.

"What do you think?"

A guy like him, not only did he look, but he probably did something weird too. Juniper didn't wanna think about it. Too creepy.

"A perfect guy like me, how bad is my image in your head?" Ronnie shook his head, looking all hurt. It was almost sad.

"Extremely bad," Juniper shot back.

"Forget it. I won't explain anymore. Time will prove everything."

"Yeah, it'll prove you're an even bigger jerk than I thought."

Ronnie was totally speechless.

Juniper went into the kitchen and came out in less than five minutes with a bowl of milk and oatmeal.

"What about mine?" Ronnie asked.

"And that's my problem how? I'm not your maid." Juniper was still super mad at him.

"You heartless woman."

"Yeah, and I'm ruthless too, so stop bugging me." Juniper replied, all bossy, "Don't love me. There's no future."

"I insist on loving you, what can you do about it?"

"Childish." She rolled her eyes at him.

"If you won't give me food, I'll eat yours." Ronnie said, grabbing the spoon from her hand and taking a big bite.

"You..." Juniper almost wanted to slap him into next week.

"It's just a bite of your oatmeal. Do you have to be so stingy? Here, take it back."

"I don't want to eat anything you've slobbered on," Juniper said, disgusted.

"We've already kissed, and you're still hung up on this? So dramatic."

"That was a forced kiss, you jerk. How dare you bring it up!" Juniper raised the bowl, ready to smash it in his face.

"Juniper, we're civilized people. Let's talk it out. No need to get all violent, okay? As a girl, can't you be a little gentler?"

"Nope, if you want gentle, go find someone else. I'm rough and tough, deal with it." Juniper emphasized, trying to push him away.

Ronnie grinned, "Actually, a wild girlfriend sounds pretty exciting."

No matter what she said, Ronnie just wouldn't back down. Juniper thought, 'He's a rich young master, a dream guy for so many naive girls. Why is he like this?'

She shook her head. "You eat this, I'll make another one."

"Why can't we share? One bite for you, one bite for me?" Ronnie asked, winking.

Juniper glared. "No, I'm afraid I'll puke."

After breakfast, Ronnie drove her to work.

The car stopped at the company entrance, and just as Juniper was about to get out, Ronnie suddenly grabbed her hand.

She turned around to see his serious expression.

"What's up?" Juniper asked.

Ronnie looked like he had something heavy on his mind.

"Quit your job," he said.

Juniper suddenly tensed up and immediately replied, "I have nothing to do with Anthony anymore, so why should I quit?"

Ronnie thought, 'Nothing to do with him? If she doesn't like him, why was she calling Anthony's name all night when she was drunk?'

Ronnie felt awful. "Are you fooling yourself?"

Juniper wanted to be confident, but she couldn't. His question hit her hard. Yeah, was she fooling herself?

"I'm staying just for the job and won't think about anything else."

Ronnie shot back, "Is there no other job? Only at the Eilish Group? You can come to the Woods Group and be my secretary."

"I don't have a habit of quitting halfway."

These were all excuses. The truth was that she couldn't let go of Anthony, and she knew it very well.

"Staying here and seeing him every day, are you sure you won't waver? You heard it clearly last night. They plan to get married. Do you want to see them get married before you give up? Juniper, I don't want you to get hurt more, do you understand? You can have a lighter and better life. Why torture yourself?"

Juniper had asked herself these questions countless times.

She knew quitting was the best option, but she kept finding excuses.

She was digging her own grave, a grave with no place to rest.

Did she want her heart to be crushed?

"Yesterday, you got what Hera meant. She really minds your presence. Why stay and humiliate yourself? There are a million men better than Anthony. Like me, no matter how much you despise me, at least you know I care about you. What a woman needs is a man who can stay by her side and put her first. That's more important than anything."

Juniper interrupted him, "Can you stop talking? I don't want to hear it."

"I can stop, but I hope you think it through." Ronnie softened his expression and patted her head. "Alright, go on."
