Chapter 713 Upper-Class Socialite
Juniper was buzzing. "Anthony just praised me! The guy I like!"
Her heart was doing somersaults. This was the first time Anthony had ever said something nice to her like that.
She felt like she could float away on a cloud of happiness.
"Mr. Eilish, thanks for the kind words. I'll work even harder to make you proud," she said, her smile so sweet it could give you a toothache. Anthony couldn't look away; she was just too dazzling.
Anthony was thinking, 'How is she this adorable? The more I look, the cuter she gets. And she's not just cute, she's amazing. How could I not like her?'
Juniper snapped him back to reality. "Mr. Eilish, dinner's in an hour. We should get ready."
"Alright."
They headed back to the room.
Anthony's closet was packed with suits—black, white, gray.
"Pick one for me," he said.
Juniper's mind raced. 'Picking out clothes? Isn't that a girlfriend thing? Wait, what am I thinking? It's also a secretary's job.'
"Sure thing." She grabbed a white tailcoat. "Mr. Eilish, you look best in white."
"Really?"
"Yeah, like an angel, warm and kind."
Anthony raised an eyebrow. "An angel?"
Juniper stuck out her tongue. "I mean warm and clean."
It was a weird compliment, but Anthony didn't mind. He liked being her angel.
"Alright."
He changed into the suit and stepped out.
White was definitely his color—gentle, elegant, practically glowing.
"Wow, Mr. Eilish, you look so handsome." Juniper was starstruck. "So handsome."
Anthony grinned.
"Really?" he teased.
Juniper blurted out, "Yeah, if you were a bartender, you'd be a hit!"
Anthony was speechless.
"No, I didn't mean that." Juniper wanted to facepalm. What was she even saying? She must've been blinded by his looks.
"Anyway, you're super handsome." She nodded like a bobblehead.
Anthony was both amused and exasperated.
How many more surprises did she have up her sleeve?
Just then, the doorbell rang.
"Who could that be?"
"Let's find out."
Juniper opened the door to find a stunning woman holding a long, light gold evening gown, with a makeup artist in tow.
Juniper asked, "They're here to style me? Do I need to get that fancy?"
"Yep. Even though it's a private dinner, everyone will be dressed to the nines."
"Alright. Let's do this." She couldn't let him down.
Juniper was used to this. She'd been to plenty of dinners before, and there was always this kind of prep.
Half an hour later.
Anthony finished his call and turned around, only to be blown away by the sight of Juniper.
She was rocking a fishtail gown that showed off her curves, with a tiny waist and long legs. Her makeup was seductive but classy, like a fairy-tale beauty. Those big eyes could mesmerize anyone.
Juniper waved and teased, "I know I'm gorgeous, Mr. Eilish, but you don't have to stare."
Anthony snapped out of it, his ears turning red. "Not bad."
"It's obviously stunning, right?" Juniper admired herself in the mirror. "This designer nailed it. I even got her contact info for next time."
She took Anthony's arm. "Let's roll."
At the private dinner, Juniper walked in and instantly turned heads.
Even though some guys had brought along stunning actresses, they all faded into the background next to Juniper. Her vibe, charm, and beauty were on another level.
The rich wives couldn't compete with her youth, and the actresses, while young, didn't have her grace. She was like a sparkling diamond, lighting up the room.
And she carried herself with such confidence.
They say a woman is a man's best trophy. Anthony didn't see Juniper as a trophy, but the jealous looks from other men made him feel a bit smug.
His girl was the most beautiful and dazzling one there.
Celine, the actress who had been soaking up all the attention earlier, suddenly looked green with envy.
"Mr. Eilish, who's this stunning lady?"
"She's Mr. Eilish's secretary I was telling you about," Lyndon chimed in. "Not only is she super capable, but she's also drop-dead gorgeous. All dolled up like this, she's even more breathtaking. Mr. Eilish, you're one lucky guy."
"Yeah, seriously lucky."
"Juniper's got this amazing aura. She must come from a top-notch family. Which one is it?"
"Just a middle-class family," Juniper said, playing it cool.
Yeah, right. Juniper was being modest. Her whole vibe screamed high society.
"Where'd you graduate from?"
"Finance Department at Star University." Juniper said it like it was no big deal, but everyone else was floored.
"So, you're a top student too."
"A real brainiac."
"A high-educated, beautiful woman. I've seen it all now."
"You're seriously impressive."
Celine sneered, "I heard you can buy degrees from foreign schools these days."
Juniper laughed, "Maybe from some no-name schools, but top schools like Star University? No way. That would trash their reputation."
"Exactly. You have no clue what you're talking about, saying dumb stuff like that." Celine's sponsor shot her a look, clearly embarrassed. Celine was pretty but clueless. Next to Juniper, it was like night and day.
"I..."
"If she didn't graduate from a top school, how could she be Mr. Eilish's secretary? And I've seen Juniper's skills firsthand. Even my secretary, who's been with me for over ten years, can't compare. Ms. Cooper, you're amazing."
"Thanks for the compliment," Juniper replied.
"Mr. Eilish has a good eye."
Anthony was beaming with pride.
They clinked glasses.
The food came out.
Watching Juniper eat, it was clear she was from a high-class background. She was elegant and confident, totally at ease in high society. You can't fake that kind of poise.
Juniper chatted softly. Whether it was international relations, business politics, or stocks and antiques, she could talk about it all.
Everyone was more and more impressed.
These days, there are plenty of beautiful women, but beautiful women with brains and knowledge? That's rare. They couldn't stop praising her.
Anthony realized Juniper was even more amazing than he thought, in every way.
Tonight, she was shining, not just because of her looks, but because of her smarts. Intelligence made her even more beautiful and radiant.
"What's so great about her? Just putting on a show. She probably crammed before coming here," Celine muttered, clearly annoyed.
'No way this chick is stealing my spotlight. I gotta find a way to take her down,' Celine thought.
