Chapter 704 Women Fighting

Juniper couldn't stand getting into physical fights, especially with other women. It was just the worst.

Mira's shove really ticked her off.

"Take a look in the mirror, girl. You look like a total mess!" Juniper snapped.

Mira shot back, "Me? A mess? Look at you! All you do is flaunt yourself!"

"That's just how I roll. I'm rich, hot, and smart. You're just jealous 'cause you got none of that," Juniper fired back.

"Jealous? Of you? Please. If I had your attitude, I'd hide my face," Mira argued.

"You're nuts. I'm done with this," Juniper said, trying to walk away. But Mira, boiling with rage, grabbed her and wouldn't let go.

"Get off me!" Juniper yelled. "This is the office. I don't wanna fight you!"

Mira had lost it.

Thinking about how Anthony was head over heels for Juniper made Mira see red. She lunged, yanking Juniper's hair so hard it felt like her scalp was ripping off. Juniper screamed and shoved back.

Mira slipped on the slick floor, crashing down and hurting her leg. She couldn't get up for a while.

In the office, the tension was thick.

Terry was at a loss for words.

A fight in the CEO's office? If it had been the usual troublemakers, sure, but his top assistant, Mira? Unbelievable!

Anthony wouldn't normally care, but Juniper was different.

He looked at Juniper. "What happened?"

Before Juniper could answer, Mira butted in, "Mr. Eilish, Juniper jumped me in the restroom. My leg's almost busted."

Mira sat there, fuming.

'Damn it,' she thought. 'This bitch is fine, and I'm the one with a busted leg. Did I really lose to her in every way? No way!'

Juniper shot back, "You grabbed my hair first."

Both women were dodging blame. Juniper felt humiliated. She didn't want to be seen as a brawler, especially not by Anthony.

Mira argued, "I didn't. You shoved me first."

"You shoved me first," Juniper countered.

Mira sneered, "How could I have started it? Everyone knows I'm nice, and you're the arrogant one. People here can't stand you. Mr. Eilish, ask anyone."

Juniper gritted her teeth. "I..."

"Why so quiet? Feeling guilty? You know your rep around here," Mira said, getting bolder. "Why does everyone like me but complain about you? It's obvious who's the problem."

Juniper was speechless.

"Why did she hit you?" Anthony asked.

Mira said, "I was supposed to go on a business trip with you and handed some work to her. Normal stuff. But she thought I was out to get her, so she got mad and shoved me. She's just petty. Whenever I give her tasks, she whines and thinks I'm picking on her. She's not just narrow-minded, she's lazy. She doesn't deserve to be a secretary."

Mira dumped all the blame on Juniper. Juniper couldn't believe how well Mira could lie. She was worse than any mean girl she'd ever met.

Juniper shot back, "You know damn well if you were targeting me."

"If you think I was, then prove it."

"I don't wanna argue about this. If you're not embarrassed, I am," Juniper said, ice-cold.

Mira sneered, "Those are just excuses. You've got nothing. You're guilty and you know you're not good enough. Now you're pushing me. Mr. Eilish, this is the second time. She keeps screwing up and should be fired."

Anthony took a deep breath, thinking, 'Is Juniper a drama magnet? Why does she always attract so much chaos?'

Anthony asked, "No one else saw this?"

"No, it was just us in the restroom. But Mr. Eilish, I swear I didn't do anything wrong. Please believe me!" Mira pleaded.

Anthony said, "With no witnesses, it's hard to tell who started it."

Mira's face went pale, and she jumped up, furious. "You're clearly taking her side!"

"Mira, watch your mouth," Terry warned.

Mira snapped, "I'm not wrong. Last time she lost the documents and accused me of stealing them, Mr. Eilish, you didn't fire her. Now she hits a colleague, and you still don't fire her. If this isn't favoritism, what is? This is so unfair! I've been loyal and hardworking, but you always side with her. I'm really disheartened."

Anthony said, "I'm not favoring anyone. As for the last incident, once it's investigated, I'll give you a fair answer. Disputes between colleagues should be resolved privately."

"Mr. Eilish..." Mira was about to lose it. She thought, 'Anthony always sides with Juniper, letting her bully me. Just because I'm not as pretty or rich as Juniper, do I deserve this?'

Mira knew this world was run by power and money. The rich and powerful were always right, while the rest got trampled. But she wasn't about to let Juniper walk all over her, and she hated seeing Anthony protect her. She felt so wronged she wanted to cry.

Anthony continued, "I'll give you three days off to rest."

Mira refused, "I don't want that. I want to go to the meeting with you!"

"Juniper will handle it," Anthony said flatly.

Juniper's heart sank. This wasn't good news for her.

Mira looked crushed, thinking, 'Not only does he not stand up for me, but he also lets Juniper take my place. Will he let her replace me in my job too?'

Mira felt heartbroken, thinking Anthony was so cruel to her.

Mira argued, "Terry assigned the business trip to me, I can..."

"Forget it. Mira, you're hurt and need to rest. Why push yourself? Mr. Eilish is concerned about you, so he's letting you go home to rest," Terry said.

Mira said, "I don't want to."

'This isn't concern, just an excuse. His real intention is Juniper,' she thought.

Mira's eyes reddened.

Terry said, "Since Mr. Eilish has decided, let's go with this arrangement. You can leave now."

Mira continued, "I don't... Mr. Eilish..."

"Enough," Terry cut her off with a stern look.
