Chapter 890 You're Just a Bodyguard
The three of them first went to a famous scenic spot.
Parker kept trying to find topics to get close to Brynn, but Brynn didn't pay much attention to him and kept chatting and laughing with Eldon.
Clearly, he was the one on the date, so why did he feel like an outsider? Parker felt very annoyed.
Seeing Brynn's beautiful smile made him even more jealous.
'What the heck, bringing a third wheel on a date, whose future wife is she supposed to be anyway?'
But Parker still kept a smile on his face.
After walking for a while, Parker said, "Brynn, are you thirsty? Want some ice cream?"
Brynn nodded.
"Go buy some ice cream," Parker ordered Eldon.
"Why should Eldon go? You go buy it," Brynn said.
"But I..." Parker gritted his teeth, suppressing his annoyance, "Alright."
He went and bought three ice creams.
"Eldon, this is your favorite chocolate flavor," Brynn happily handed one to Eldon.
That was the chocolate flavor he bought for himself.
Even fighting over a chocolate ice cream, Parker was extremely annoyed.
He unwrapped his milk-flavored ice cream and took a bite, "So sweet, Brynn, try this, it's really good."
As he held the ice cream out, Brynn avoided it with disgust.
They weren't even close, and he was offering her ice cream he had already eaten. It was a bit gross.
"No, thanks."
Eldon's face turned slightly cold.
"Eldon, is yours good? Let me have a bite," Brynn leaned in and took a bite, "Wow, chocolate is still the best."
Eldon said indulgently, "Then let's switch, you can have mine."
"Sure, actually my red bean flavor is pretty good too."
The two of them naturally swapped ice creams.
Parker felt even more sour.
Swapping ice creams so naturally, what was their relationship? They were too close.
He felt like he was being deceived.
When they went to the restroom, Parker took the initiative to talk to Eldon, "Did you and Brynn grow up together?"
Eldon was washing his hands and responded with a low "yes."
"Even though she says she sees you as a brother, you know you're just her bodyguard, right?" Parker said, "Today, I'm her date, and I might even be her future husband."
Eldon thought to himself that he would never let that happen. Parker was clearly unreliable. He wouldn't let Brynn be with such a man.
"You can see that Uncle Atticus arranged this date for us, so you're really in the way here. Be sensible and disappear, don't get in the way."
"Protecting Brynn is my responsibility."
"With me here, I'll protect her."
Eldon coldly thought, 'You're the most dangerous one.'
"Eldon, you've had a long day, give yourself a break." Parker patted him on the shoulder, "Be sensible, I'm very generous. There's a hundred thousand dollars on this card, use it for food, drinks, shopping, or fun, just don't follow us for the next few days."
He stuffed the card into Eldon's pocket.
He thought Eldon would accept without hesitation for such a large amount of money, but Eldon took the card out and threw it on the ground.
Parker was furious, "What do you mean?"
"Exactly what it looks like." The two faced off, Eldon wasn't as muscular as Parker, but he stood taller, more imposing, with a piercing gaze.
"You look down on me? Get it straight, you're just a bodyguard, basically a dog the Elise family keeps to accompany Brynn."
Parker, used to being arrogant, couldn't stand being contradicted, especially by a lowly bodyguard, so he insulted him directly.
Eldon didn't retaliate because he disdained arguing with such a person. Silence was the highest form of contempt.
He turned to leave.
But Parker blocked his way, pushing him, "Why aren't you talking? Know your place, be an obedient dog, or I'll chop you up! Got it?"
Parker arrogantly tried to slap Eldon's face, but as soon as he raised his hand, Eldon grabbed it and twisted it behind his back.
Parker let out a scream, trying to fight back, but Eldon pinned him against the wall, his face squished and distorted.
This was the restroom, his face... so disgusting!
"Let me go!" Parker, with all his muscles, was much stronger than Eldon, but he couldn't move at all.
"Let go!"
Parker yelled in anger and shame, "You're just a bodyguard, you—"
Eldon leaned close to his ear and warned, "Don't go after Brynn, or I'll kill you."
Then he released him and left.
Parker's arm felt like it was about to be dislocated.
Damn it, he had been working out for years and even fought in boxing matches, how could he be so weak in front of Eldon? Was all his muscle for nothing?
Brynn, he was determined to have her!
"Eldon, why did you take so long?" Brynn jumped up and hooked her arm around his, "I missed you."
Eldon looked at her with gentle eyes, "Let's go."
"Okay."
Parker followed behind, completely ignored.
"This seal is so cute, I want to sleep with it, it's so soft." Brynn happily returned home.
Atticus was reading the newspaper, took off his reading glasses, and smiled kindly, "You're back, did you have fun?"
"Had a great time, we went to the aquarium."
"You, still a little girl at heart," Atticus said lovingly, "How was Parker?"
"Not bad, not annoying." Brynn said this because she hadn't paid much attention to Parker, today felt more like she was playing with Eldon. Parker didn't do anything particularly annoying.
"That's good. He called earlier, said you didn't go to many places today, and asked if you were free tomorrow."
"Again? Does he really think I'm a tour guide? So tiring."
But Brynn thought about how she hadn't played with Eldon for a long time, so she changed her mind, "Alright."
Atticus thought she had a good impression of Parker and that things were going well, so he smiled with satisfaction.
"It's so hot, I'm going to take a shower."
After Eldon took Brynn upstairs, he came back down.
Atticus asked about the situation.
Eldon hesitated. In the past, he would have directly pointed out that Parker had character issues.
But now that Atticus was intentionally separating him and Brynn, he was worried Atticus would misunderstand.
So he held back and just said it was okay.
"They're all young, have a lot in common, and can have fun together. It seems like things could develop well, maybe in the future..."
Eldon urgently said, "Mr. Elise..."
"What's the matter?"
After a moment of hesitation, Eldon said, "Ms. Elise doesn't intend to date, she just thinks of it as making friends."
