Chapter 812 Love Can't Be Hidden
'How did they find out? It's just a relationship. Do they really need to pay this much attention?' she thought.
Juniper felt a chill down her spine and mumbled with a red face, "I, I wasn't! I was just checking the weather, not that..."
"We've all been there, okay? Everyone acts like this when they're in love."
"Stop lying to us."
"For Juniper to be this conflicted, it must be true love."
"If it's true love, why not text him already?"
Urged by them, Juniper hesitantly sent a message: [Off work at six.]
Anthony replied instantly: [I'm downstairs.]
"This guy..." Juniper couldn't help but smile.
Before leaving work, Juniper went to the restroom to touch up her makeup and shut down her computer right at six to head downstairs.
She ran into Jack.
"Got a date?"
Juniper was stunned.
"Haha, have a great date."
Juniper smiled. Being blessed by others felt really nice.
She arrived at the spot from the morning, and Anthony's Maybach was parked there. She smiled again and started to jog over, but then remembered she was pregnant and slowed her pace.
She decided to tell him about the pregnancy after he passed the test, as a reward.
Anthony got out of the car to open the door for her.
"No, no, you don't need to get out. My colleagues might see you. They might even follow me."
Those "crazy" female colleagues at the office would definitely do something like that.
"Follow you?"
"Yeah. You have no idea how sharp women's eyes are. They're like bloodhounds. They all figured out I was in a relationship and kept interrogating me."
"Oh? We're in a relationship?" Anthony's eyes lit up.
"I mean, they misunderstood that I was in a relationship."
"Then you must have done something to make them 'misunderstand.' Like sneaking smiles, constantly checking your phone, or being in an exceptionally good mood?"
"How... do you know?"
"Because I am too. Everyone at my company has noticed I'm in love. You can check the forum if you want."
Juniper quickly pulled out her phone and checked the forum.
Sure enough, there were over a hundred posts about Anthony being in love, both positive and negative.
One post even went too far, calling her the "homewrecker" who made Anthony run away from a marriage, now becoming his official girlfriend.
Juniper was speechless.
"Why didn't you do a better job of keeping it a secret?"
"Are you mad?" Anthony immediately looked worried.
Juniper's heart was strong enough not to get mad, but being talked about behind her back wasn't a pleasant thing either.
"No, you should keep it a bit more discreet, don't make it so obvious."
"Love is love. I want to admit it openly. I don't want to hide it from anyone. Besides, even if you try to hide it, it will still show in your eyes and smile."
That's true. As someone experiencing it firsthand, Juniper couldn't argue.
This damn love, it just can't be hidden.
"Do you think what I said makes sense?" Anthony asked deliberately.
"How would I know? I don't understand this."
"Don't understand? You got found out today, I thought you understood."
"I got found out because women are detectives with strong intuition, not because I made it obvious. Why are you talking so much today? Just drive!"
"Okay." Anthony patted her head, a gesture full of affection.
Juniper hated it when others touched her hair, but Anthony's touch was mesmerizing.
The Maybach drove to a glasshouse restaurant in the suburbs.
As soon as Juniper got out of the car, she saw through the transparent glass that a bouquet and a candlelight dinner were prepared inside, with a musician playing the piano.
"Candlelight dinner? Why didn't you tell me in advance? I didn't dress up."
"You don't need to dress up to be beautiful. You're the most beautiful woman in the world." Anthony held her waist, a very gentlemanly and natural gesture.
Juniper's legs went weak. If another man said this, it would feel like flattery, but coming from Anthony, it was so heartwarming.
She believed that in his eyes, she was the most beautiful woman.
The person you love is naturally the most beautiful.
White candles, exquisite tablecloths, a room full of romantic roses, and fragrant air.
Soft music played.
Juniper was enchanted.
Anthony pulled out a chair for her.
"Thank you."
All these arrangements made her feel like a noble princess.
What woman doesn't want to be a princess? And she had her prince charming.
This would be an unforgettable night in her memory.
When Anthony ordered red wine, Juniper said, "I don't drink."
Because she was pregnant.
"Not even a little?"
"No."
"Then I won't drink either." Anthony ordered juice and looked at her deeply, "I don't need alcohol; your charm has already intoxicated me."
Juniper's cheeks turned rosy.
She couldn't handle Anthony's sweet talk at all.
So sweet, sweeter than honey by a thousand times.
Love is truly sweet, a sweetness you can actually taste.
They cut their steaks, enjoyed their meal, and chatted, everything as dreamy and beautiful as a fairy tale.
Finally, Anthony stood up and extended his hand like a gentleman, "May I have the honor of a dance, my beautiful princess?"
"Too bad I'm not wearing a gown." Juniper placed her hand in his.
"No matter, you're my princess no matter what."
Her small hand lightly rested on his shoulder, and they danced gracefully amidst the candlelight dinner, flowers, and piano music.
Their steps swayed.
The scene was beautiful.
Dinner ended past ten.
On the drive home, Anthony asked, "Want to take a walk on the beach?" He glanced at the time, "If it's not too late for you..."
"It's fine. I'm a bit full, a walk would be nice."
Actually, Juniper didn't want the night to end either.
Being with someone you like, you wish every moment could be extended, wishing you could stick together 24/7.
"Alright."
A bright moon, a gentle sea breeze.
"The moon is beautiful tonight," Juniper said, looking up at the bright moon in the night sky.
"Yes, very beautiful." Anthony looked at her.
Everything in the world paled in comparison to her gentle smile.
He wished he could freeze this moment forever.
"Look at the moon, why are you looking at me?" Juniper felt shy under his gaze.
"You're more beautiful than the moon."
"Stop it, that's so cheesy." Juniper looked down and smiled.
Walking side by side, their fingers brushed against each other intentionally or unintentionally. Each touch sent a tingling sensation through Juniper, making her heart race and her blush deepen.
Her body kept heating up, but she didn't want to pull away.
After several touches, Anthony mustered the courage and grabbed her small hand.
