Chapter 22 Keep It Pure

After taking a shower, Layla lay on the soft, large bed, feeling so comfortable that she couldn't help but roll around. She quickly fell asleep, dreamless throughout the night. Normally, after such a big scare yesterday, she wouldn't have been able to sleep.

When she woke up, Layla felt much better. Recently, she had been having frequent nightmares and restless sleep, but last night she slept deeply. She chuckled to herself, "I'm an idiot, sleeping like a log in a stranger's house. That's really dangerous."

She went downstairs and passed by the dining room.

By the window, sunlight spilled onto the white round table.

In a slender white porcelain vase, a vibrant red rose was placed, filling the air with its fragrance.

A handsome man sat by the window, elegantly crossed his legs, held a cup of coffee, and read the day's financial news.

His white shirt glowed faintly, exuding an incredible nobility, like a god.

For a moment, Layla seemed to have seen the prince.

Samuel's gaze, deep and piercing, pulled her back to reality. Her heart skipped a beat. Shaking her head, she reminded herself he wasn't a prince but a sex worker, who bullied her yesterday.

Layla was just about to leave when Samuel's cool voice carried a hint of accusation,
"Why don't you leave without saying a word? Do you think this is a hotel?"

"Ms. Adkins, Mr. Holland invites you to join him for breakfast." Elbert came over to invite her.
Layla stood there, unwilling. She wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Samuel ordered, "Come over here.Don't make me repeat myself."

Samuel's voice was commanding, even from a distance.

It was as if an irresistible force compelled Layla's legs to move towards him.

Elbert pulled out a chair for her and said, "Ms. Adkins, if you don't like this breakfast, the kitchen has prepared other options."

"There's no need. I'll eat whatever." Layla wasn't picky and wanted to finish quickly and leave.

Elbert advised, "Then, have some milk."

She remarked, "Thank you."

Layla remembered the milk from last night and suspected he had drugged it. However, if he really wanted to do something to her, it wouldn't matter whether she drank it or not.

'Maybe I am narrow-minded. After all, nothing happened last night, right? So, he is actually quite considerate.'

Just as she thought this, a flash of last night's memory of him forcefully kissing her and tearing her clothes came to mind. He was like a terrifying lion, and it was in the car...

Any gratitude she felt instantly vanished.

Her face turned red as she picked up the milk. She accidentally hit the wound on her lip, causing a sharp pain that made Layla wince.

Elbert inquired, "Ms. Adkins, is your mouth injured?"

"It was bitten by a mad dog." Layla glared at Samuel.

It was the first time Samuel had been called a mad dog to his face. Layla was actually this bold.

Samuel spoke up, "A disobedient little rabbit deserves to be punished."

Layla pouted, her displeasure evident at being called a little rabbit. Little rabbits were too weak and would be eaten by big bad wolves. However, she wasn't a little rabbit and wouldn't let him have his way. After all, she was the one who took the ionitiative that night. So, who was the little rabbit now?

His arrogant tone was really annoying. Any slight gratitude she had for him was now gone, replaced by dislike.

Layla ate slowly to avoid hurting her lip.

"By the way, I didn't use that skincare set. As for the clothes..." She blushed and said softly. "You tore my clothes, so I'll take these as compensation."

The women Samuel knew all wore makeup, each one more meticulously dressed than the previous. But she, with her bare face, radiating youthful collagen, was more beautiful than any of them. Her face was clean, smooth, and tender, making it very pleasing to the eye, and there was no worry about kissing a mouthful of foundation and lipstick.

Seeing the ring of white milk around her mouth, Samuel felt a bit itchy inside.

She was like a poison, even someone as restrained as him couldn't resist.

Layla licked her lips.

Samuel asked, "Is the milk good?"

"Yeah, it's good." It was fresh, completely different from the cheap milk she usually drank, and was probably very expensive.

"Let me try." Samuel's heart itched, and he leaned in. Before Layla could react, he pinched her chin, gently pressed his thin lips against hers, licked around, and murmured with satisfaction, "Indeed, it's good."

Layla was stunned. She snapped out of it, embarrassed and angry, and pushed him away. She forcefully wiped her mouth as he smiled mischievously.

Layla shouted, "What are you doing?"

She continued, "That's so shameless. How can you steal a kiss from a girl?"

He was utterly shameless, indifferent to the stares of the crowd, but she was easily embarrassed.

Layla was very shy, but Samuel didn't care, maintaining his cool demeanor as he continued, "I have kissed you before, and we've done more intimate things."

"Stop talking." Layla, in a hurry, tried to step on him, but Samuel quickly dodged her high heel, causing her to miss and nearly sprain her ankle.

She had thought he was considerate, giving her skincare products and clothes, but he was actually a super annoying jerk.

Samuel teased, feeling fully satisfied. The way she got all riled up was really cute.

Elbert was secretly surprised and thought, 'Did I see it right? Did Mr. Holland smile? It seems this Layla is quite special to Samuel. Regardless, seeing Samuel smile is already an amazing thing. Samuel is too lonely; having someone to accompany him was good, though it might not be for long.'

"The sandwich tastes pretty good, too." Samuel pushed it towards her with his fingertips.

Layla glared at him and said, "I won't fall for your tricks again."

Samuel teased, "Keep your thoughts pure."

Layla was speechless.

He was the one who forcefully kissed her, so who was the impure one? Layla had never seen someone so good at twisting the truth.

However, she was really hungry now, so she grabbed the sandwich and took a big bite.

"Your eating manner is quite ferocious," Samuel said indifferently.

Layla shouted, "Shut up, or I'll eat you!"

"Do you want to eat me?" Samuel raised an eyebrow wickedly, his eyes full of ambiguity.

"Shameless." Layla's ears turned red.

He teased, "When you eat me, be gentle and slow."

Layla didn't want to talk anymore.

Elbert blushed. It turned out Samuel not only could smile, but also told suggestive jokes. This was rare. However, this version of Samuel was very likable, no longer cold and distant. Elbert hoped Layla could stay with him a bit longer.

Layla asked, "Do your family know you're such a rogue?"

Samuel replied, "They don't need to know, as long as you do."

She thought, 'He kept talking. He was that shameless, wasn't he? Despite his cool and handsome face, he was a rogue at heart.'

Layla couldn't be bothered to retort, only wanting to smash a plate on his handsome face.

She remarked, "Please, don't push it. Although you're handsome, it doesn't mean you can flirt with women whenever you want."

"I never do it at will." Samuel wasn't emphasizing it deliberately, but his tone was a bit more serious.
Countless women tried to get close to him, but he never felt the urge to talk to them, only finding them annoying.

He would never flirt with women or casually sleep with someone to satisfy physical desires.

"Everyone who does it at will says they don't." Layla was not giving him any dignity.

"Let's not talk about this. Is Nathan the designer of this villa?" She asked.
