Chapter 725 A Clean Break

"Stop, Ronnie!" Juniper hurriedly opened the door and rushed out, clinging tightly to his arm.

Ronnie shouted, "Let go! I need to teach him a lesson!"

"Are you crazy? If you keep this up, I'm calling the cops!" The neighbor, a tall and burly man, was so scared he retreated back inside.

"Ronnie, you come inside with me." Juniper forcefully pulled him back into the room. "It's late at night. Stop acting crazy."

"I'm crazy? Yeah, I've been driven crazy by you! You damn woman!"

Ronnie grabbed her arm, his eyes bloodshot with rage. "How could you do this to me? Do you think it's fun to mess with me? What am I to you? A toy or a begging dog?"

"No, it's not like that. Ronnie, let go of me. You're hurting me!" Juniper gasped in pain.

"Hurting you? My pain is a thousand times worse! I'm such a damn fool, being trampled by you and still coming back like a dog. I'm really pathetic!"

Ronnie roared. "Is Anthony that great? Do you like him that much? Am I worse than him?"

"No, it's not like that. I've already broken up with him." Juniper felt like her arm was about to break, crushed into pieces. "It hurts!"

Instead of letting go, Ronnie got angrier with her struggle, grabbing both her arms. "Do you think I'm an idiot? You like him so much, how could you have broken up with him? You slept with him, didn't you? Just last night."

"I didn't. Stop being crazy. Ronnie!" Juniper screamed incessantly.

"You're still lying to me! It's because you slept with him that you like him, right? Then let's see who's better, me or him." Ronnie said, lifting her up and throwing her onto the couch.

Juniper was terrified, struggling with all her might, screaming hysterically, "No—Ronnie—let go of me—don't do this—Ronnie! Let go!"

Juniper twisted and struggled desperately.

But his kisses fell like bombs, attacking her relentlessly.

Ronnie bit her lips and her neck.

It really hurt.

Juniper cried out in fear, "Don't do this to me, please."

Her sobbing voice pierced Ronnie's heart, but he forced himself to be ruthless, still spouting harsh words.

"Do you think I'll let you go just because you're begging? Playing the victim won't work! I'm telling you! Today, I won't go easy on you. No one can stop me from having you!"

"Ronnie, let go of me. Don't make me hate you."

"Then hate me. If I can't make you love me, at least I can make you hate me for a lifetime and never forget me!" Ronnie said fiercely.

Juniper curled up into a ball, filled with despair. Calling out was useless, crying was useless, nothing could stop him.

So be it. Her life was already a complete mess, already as miserable as it could get, so what if it got even worse?

Juniper completely fell apart and was completely despair.

But just as she closed her eyes in despair and gave up resisting, Ronnie suddenly laughed bitterly, his eyes bloodshot.

"You know? I really want to destroy you completely!"

Juniper would never forget that look of despair and desolation.

Ronnie passed out on top of her.

Juniper got a blanket and covered him.

Ronnie reeked of alcohol. Who knew how much he drank. In just three days, he had lost a lot of weight, his face haggard, cheeks sunken.

Juniper thought, 'It's all my fault. I'm a sinner. Staying here will only continue to harm myself and others. Harden your heart, Juniper. Leave this city. Escape as far as you can, and stop hurting others and yourself. Just think of it as a dream. One day it will all be over.'

In the morning.

Ronnie came out of the room with a cold face.

"Have some breakfast first. You drank so much last night, and your stomach must be uncomfortable," Juniper said.

"No need." Ronnie's face grew colder.

"Ronnie," Juniper called out to him, "Nothing happened between me and Anthony."

"It doesn't matter if it did or didn't. Do you think I'd believe that?"

Juniper asked, "Do you need me to swear?"

"No need. I don't care." Ronnie said coldly, "Whether it happened or not, it has nothing to do with me. I told you I won't care about your business anymore."

Juniper replied, "Fine, you don't have to care, but I don't want you to misunderstand. Also, I've decided to resign from the Eilish Group."

Ronnie paused in his steps.

'Resign? Shouldn't they be at their best now? Why suddenly resign?' he thought.

"You're right that staying around Anthony is just self-deception. I need to cut ties with him to be completely free. I'll resign today and never see him again."

But Juniper didn't tell him she would also leave the city.

Ronnie couldn't help but waver inwardly, 'Does this mean... No, even if she cuts ties with Anthony, it's not because of me. She doesn't care about me, and I don't have that much influence in her heart. Ronnie, don't overestimate your place in her heart. She's cold-blooded towards you and you mean nothing to her.'

Thinking this, his heart froze again.

Ronnie said, "Whether you resign or stay with Anthony, it has nothing to do with me. I told you, you're not the only woman in the world. I was foolish before, but now, you mean nothing to me."

His words were harsh, but Juniper knew he was just angry.

If he really didn't care about her, he wouldn't have been so pained last night, drunk and coming to her.

She felt guilty for hurting him, so she explained so much. Otherwise, saying nothing would be best. Letting him give up completely would end his pain.

Juniper said, "Whether you care or not, I just felt I should explain. I don't want you to misunderstand."

Ronnie asked, "So you told me, then what? You cut ties with Anthony and want to be with me?"

"That's not what I meant."

Ronnie felt like a bucket of ice water was poured over him, chilling him to the bone.

He had just warned himself not to have wishful thinking, and the next moment he was hopefully asking her.

It proved he was extremely humble and pitiful in front of her.

Ronnie asked, "Juniper, are you playing with me?"

"I'm not..."

Ronnie continued, "If you don't want to be with me, there's no need to tell me anything. I don't want to know."

"Fine. You probably won't see me again."

'What did she mean? She's leaving?' Ronnie wanted to ask, but he held back.

Ronnie reminded himself, 'Don't make yourself so humble again. Whether she leaves or stays, it's not for me. It's all because of Anthony.'

"Thank you for taking care of me before. Please take care of yourself." Juniper couldn't help but choke up.

Ronnie sneered, "No need. It was just to have sex with you."

With that, he stormed out.

Juniper smiled bitterly, tears in her eyes. She was a disaster.

But she had no time to feel bad, because she still had to cut ties with Anthony!
