Chapter 738 A New Life
Three months later.
Inside the third-ranked real estate company in all of Libertonia, Juniper had just finished her report.
Dressed in professional attire, she looked much more mature and capable than before.
Her boss, the general manager, was also from City A. His name was Jack Church, in his forties, with a cute mixed-race baby. They often communicated with each other.
His approving gaze fell on her. "You've made rapid progress in just three months. I was initially worried that the workload might be too much for you, but not only did you handle it, you did exceptionally well, exceeding my expectations."
"The most remarkable thing is that despite the hard work, often having to work until eleven or twelve at night and then travel the next day, you never complained."
Juniper smiled and said, "I'm still young. If I don't work hard now, when will I? Besides, I don't feel it's hard at all. I learn a lot of new things every day and gain a lot. Thank you, Mr. Church, for your excellent guidance."
"Haha, you're great." Jack stood up. "You've worked hard during this period. The company will be collaborating with a new company in three days, and it will be very busy again. Take a good rest for the next two days and prepare for the new challenges."
Juniper nodded. "What's the situation with the new company? It seems very mysterious."
"It's a company that just opened in Libertonia last year. The boss is also said to be from City A. To develop so quickly in such a short time, they must be very strong."
"I see." Juniper was a bit excited; she liked working with strong partners.
"Are you sure you don't want to attend tonight's private party? There will be many outstanding young talents."
Juniper smiled. "You don't need to worry about my love life."
"I'm not worried about you; I'm worried about those excellent young men missing out on a great woman like you."
"You're too kind."
"Not at all. Being able to work by my side is proof of your ability. And your beauty is well-known. Don't you know you're recognized as the most beautiful girl in our department?"
"Really?" Juniper hadn't paid attention to such gossip; she was too busy.
The workload here was higher than back home, and colleagues usually didn't discuss such things, making the environment much simpler.
As for such high praise, she wasn't surprised. After all, she had been a beauty since childhood.
On her first day at the company, she received anonymous love messages from admirers, and now there were fifty or sixty of them.
Some were even crazy enough to block her downstairs with a large bouquet of roses and a sports car, but she ignored them all.
"It's good for young people to date more. If you're single, how many young men would be heartbroken?" Jack said half-jokingly, half-seriously.
Juniper smiled again. "I'm so busy with work now; where do I have time to date?"
"Sounds like it's my fault?"
"Of course not. It's just that my heart is only in my work. Work is my boyfriend."
"That's not right. Young people should date more, especially a beautiful girl like you. Come to the party with me tonight. I really have a few good ones to introduce to you."
"Forget it. I'm not interested."
"Usually, when girls say that, work is just an excuse. The real reason is that there's someone irreplaceable in their heart. Is there someone irreplaceable in your heart?"
Juniper was stunned for a moment, her heart aching slightly.
She desperately used her busy work to numb herself, not to think about Anthony, but he still appeared in her dreams.
The kiss in the rain before their farewell often appeared in her dreams, waking her up.
Three months, ninety days, seemed to change nothing. Maybe it was still too short a time.
"Is it the boy who often calls you?"
"Who are you talking about? Ronnie?" Juniper laughed. "No, he's my good friend, a very good friend."
"Feelings that start from friendship are very strong, also a good choice. I think that boy must like you a lot to contact you so frequently."
"Forget it. He's just a playboy. I can't handle him. It's better to stay friends."
Jack shook his head. "Then your standards must be too high. Forget it, I won't set you up anymore. Anyway, a girl as excellent as you won't lack suitors."
"You should get going," Juniper reminded him.
"Are you saying I'm nagging?"
"Not at all. Thank you for your concern." Juniper couldn't help but laugh, handing Jack his coat.
Just as she left the office, her phone rang.
"That boy?"
"Just friend," Juniper emphasized again.
It was rare to get off work at a normal time, and she wanted to go home early to rest. She packed her things while answering the phone.
"Hello, baby, did you miss me?"
"Can you talk normally?" Juniper laughed.
"When have I not called you baby? I thought you were used to it by now, right, baby?"
Juniper rolled her eyes helplessly.
"Three days without contact, did you miss me a lot? Without my calls, do you have insomnia, can't eat?"
"Sorry, I eat well and sleep soundly. Without your calls, it's been blissfully quiet."
"You're still so heartless."
"Have you been busy with work lately?" Juniper asked him. He used to call her every day, although she often said she was sleepy and hung up after five minutes.
"Work isn't busy, just busy dating a young model."
"How many is this in three months? The tenth?"
"You're keeping count? Are you secretly in love with me? I'll give you a chance to come back."
"No, I'm just feeling sorry for all those girls you're messing with."
"I'm so handsome; how can it be called messing with them? Being noticed by me is their luck."
"I say, can't you find someone with more depth instead of models and celebrities every time? Like a teacher or a musician?"
"I'm afraid I can't handle someone too deep and cause trouble. Look at the psychological shadow you left me."
"Get lost. Don't blame me; it has nothing to do with me."
"How can it not? I was deeply hurt by you. I'll give you another chance to come back?"
"No, thanks."
In the past, Juniper might have felt pressured hearing this, but now...
She felt nothing, completely taking it as a joke.
Over this period, her relationship with Ronnie had turned into pure friendship, for both of them.
"You cruel woman. Luckily, my young model is much prettier than you, has a better figure, and most importantly, a bigger chest!"
"You only look for women with big chests, so shallow." Juniper said while taking the elevator downstairs. "I'm in the underground parking lot, not talking to you anymore."
"Wait... um... did you know Anthony went to Libertonia?"
Hearing this, Juniper suddenly stopped.
