Chapter 363 Escorting Her
Samuel rushed up, embracing Layla, making her unable to resist. She rolled back and forth on the sofa, panting. "I believe you. Please stop."
Layla's whole body was overwhelmed with pleasure. If this continued, she wouldn't be able to sleep peacefully tonight.
Samuel propped his hand on Layla's head side, like a dominant and sexy lion, both sexy and dangerous. "Who's the most powerful?"
"You are the most powerful." Layla swallowed nervously. Samuel's dominant look was really handsome and radiated intense masculinity.
"Who do you belong to?" Samuel gritted his teeth, his gaze fierce and intense.
"You." Layla's whole body felt numb, her voice trembling.
"Say it."
"Say you belong to me."
"For a lifetime, you are mine."
"Say it." Samuel coaxed Layla, lightly biting her lips, sometimes commanding dominantly, sometimes gently tempting.
Layla looked at Samuel's lips as if she had lost her soul, her eyes blurred. "I am yours. I belong to you for a lifetime."
Layla belonged to Samuel wholeheartedly.
"Good girl." Samuel finally smiled satisfactorily and kissed Layla's forehead.
Layla lay on the soft sofa, looking at Samuel with a childish complaint. "I'm so tired from work, and you're still teasing me."
"Are you very tired?"
"I stood for over two hours during the measurements at night. Although I wore flat shoes, my legs still felt weak," Layla mumbled. She wasn't particularly tired actually, but in front of the man she liked, fatigue and other emotions would be greatly magnified, making her delicate.
Samuel pulled Layla's legs onto his own, holding one of her small feet, comparing her foot with his finger. "Why are your feet so small?"
"Don't you think small feet are cute?"
"Isn't it because you're short?"
Layla snorted, "Are you saying I'm short?"
"No, just right. You make me feel protective. If you were a bit smaller, I could keep you with me 24/7," Samuel said as he massaged Layla's feet.
At first, Layla felt a bit embarrassed, but Samuel's skills were too good. She felt so comfortable that she completely relaxed and enjoyed his massage service.
When Samuel finished massaging both legs and turned around, Layla had already fallen asleep, with a slight smile on her lips. With her neck tucked in, she was like a baby, so adorable that one would be tempted to kiss her.
Samuel gently got up, picked up Layla, and put her on the bed, tucking her in gently.
Layla was so gentle and delicate, like an innocent and lovely little girl. Samuel didn't want her to face the hardships and horrors of the world. He just wanted to protect her under his wings and keep her carefree for a lifetime.
However, Samuel knew that kind of life was not what Layla wanted. Layla wanted to pursue her dreams, to grow and become stronger. Samuel couldn't cage her like a canary, preventing her from pursuing her dreams. What Samuel could do was to escort her.
"Layla, do whatever you want to do. I will support you unconditionally. But promise me, don't overwork yourself, okay?" Samuel whispered gently in her ear.
That voice seemed to penetrate deep into Layla's heart, causing ripples on the surface of her heart, gently swaying in circles.
Layla's heart was covered with a warm quilt, the smile on her lips even sweeter.
The following morning, Fanny strolled into the Brightness Design Company wearing twelve-centimeter high heels.
Since becoming CEO, Fanny's high heels have gotten higher every day. It seemed that the higher the shoes, the more imposing the person and the higher the status. She also continued to look down on others.
"Has the contract with Ava Claire been signed?" Fanny went straight to Layla and forcefully knocked on her desk.
Layla calmly organized the documents. "Not yet."
"Not done yet? Aren't you supposed to be very capable? Why can't you get it done?" Fanny sneered.
"It's normal for a project to take a week to negotiate, possibly even longer — perhaps a month without yielding results. It has only been one day," Layla spoke candidly, although she knew people like Fanny were unreasonable.
Sure enough, as soon as she finished speaking, Cassandra stood up.
"That's normal, but aren't you very powerful? You managed to secure such big contracts with the Sheeran Group and Quantum Crescendo Ltd. Now you can't handle Ava Claire?"
"Cassandra Fitzgerald, the situations are different. The executives of the Sheeran Group and Mr. Hawthorne are men. Dealing with women like Ava doesn't work."
"That makes sense. Are you out of ideas when dealing with women?"
"She can use her charm to secure contracts from men. However, when it comes to dealing with women, she can't resort to manipulation."
"Ms. Taylor, I think this project won't go through. You better have someone else to take over it soon." Several female colleagues mocked Layla to the fullest.
"Layla Adkins, don't push yourself too hard. You better give it up. Don't waste Ms. Taylor's precious time."
Layla looked at Cassandra, who was the most enthusiastic in the teasing, and said calmly, "Cassandra Fitzgerald, as you want me to give up this project, do you want to take it over yourself? Then it's yours."
Cassandra's face stiffened. Anyone who takes on this project would be cursed by Ava.
"Layla Adkins, I'm the CEO and I have the final say. I'm giving you this project so don't pass it on to someone else. You have one week to secure this project, or you can forget about your salary." Fanny tossed her head and arrogantly entered her office.
"Ms. Taylor, I'll bring you coffee." Cassandra gave Layla a cold smile and followed her into the office.
In the late afternoon, Layla's phone rang, showing an unfamiliar number.
Layla stared at the screen, one hand holding the mouse to adjust the data, and the other hand answered. "Hello."
"Layla, right? I'm Jacob Reed."
"What's up?" Layla's tone was cold.
"Well, I'm planning to change the layout of the bar. I'm thinking of tearing down two walls, but I wonder if they are load-bearing walls. Come and take a look."
"Send me photos."
"Isn't it more reliable to see it on-site? I have some other ideas, and you're a great designer. Please give me some advice."
"If necessary, let Ms. Claire contact me."
"She asked me to find you." Layla wasn't that stupid to believe it. Jacob must have gotten her contact information behind Ava's back. "She's on her way, so come quickly. Or should I come to your company to pick you up?"
Jacob asked tentatively, but he was threatening Layla actually.
Layla wasn't afraid of Jacob's threats, but if Jacob came to the company, it would stir up gossip among the female employees. She didn't want the trouble.
"I'll come."
"I'll wait." Before Jacob could finish, Layla hung up the phone.
