Chapter 372 It's Your Own Fault
"Stop! You fat cow!
"I can’t stand you anymore!" Jacob seemed like a different person as he glared fiercely at Ava, who he had pushed to the ground.
Ava was stunned. Jacob had always let her scold and hit him. He had never dared to fight back.
"Why did you hit me? It was just a transaction between us. You know very well I'm with you for your money. Did you really think I was in love with you? Look at yourself, you’re over forty, old and ugly, you’re barely five feet tall, and you weigh a whopping 180 pounds. You’re heavier than me.
"When I have sex with you, it's like having sex with a fat pig. It’s disgustingly nauseating. I feel like throwing up just looking at you. How could I be interested in you?
"I serve you like an animal, I take your hits without retaliation, and I endure your insults. I deserve that money! Do you really think I can't live without you? I can easily find a younger, prettier woman with more money than you," Jacob scoffed.
Ava was both angry and upset. She regretted that all her money and energy had been wasted on this man.
"I'll fight you." She lunged at Jacob as if she was making a last stand, but Jacob raised his hand and slapped her across the face, only to be intercepted by Layla in mid-air.
Layla's hand was between them, blocking the slap that had been aimed at Ava.
Layla's young face exuded a commanding presence.
Layla was strong, and Jacob found himself unable to move for a moment.
"Get out! Do you dare order me around? I could beat you up too," Jacob said.
"I've called the police, do you want to go to jail?" Layla said
"You... you're ruthless!" Jacob pointed fiercely at Layla's face. "Just wait and see!"
Jacob picked up his clothes and ran off.
Ava sat on the ground, cursing Jacob. She hoped he would be hit by a car or struck by lightning as she sat wailing and crying.
Fanny felt like banging her head against the wall.
Fanny couldn't believe that things had turned out this way; she thought Layla would definitely have been beaten this time.
Fanny thought Layla was like a cat. She was cunning and lucky, always managing to escape unscathed.
Layla had known it was a trap from the beginning. She had deliberately shown up so Ava would witness the scene, knowing she had been set up.
How despicable and cunning!
Did she have no way to deal with Layla at all? Fanny was very resentful of the situation.
Ava cried and howled, while Fanny squatted down in frustration. "Ms. Claire."
"Get out! You the reason it's turned out like this."
"I'm doing this for your own good. You shouldn't trust Layla too much. That man isn't a good person, neither is Layla. There’s something wrong with both of them, they're not innocent.
"Ms. Claire, let me take you back." Fanny still wanted to seem like a good person After all, Ava was a wealthy client.
"Get out!" Ava pushed Fanny away, causing her to fall on her backside. Fanny, feeling annoyed, didn’t dare stay any longer. She glared at Layla and scurried away.
As soon as she left the hotel, Nora called.
Fanny broke out in a cold sweat, her hand shaking as she held the phone.
The screen went dark.
Before Fanny could sigh in relief, the phone rang again.
Fanny started sweating all over.
Finally, under immense pressure, she had to answer. "Miss Eilish..."
"Has she been beaten? Where's the video?"
"Miss Eilish, there was an accident..." Fanny stammered.
"What happened?"
Fanny had to recount everything that had just happened as she trembled.
"You failed again? You’re useless!" Nora couldn't help but scold her. "You said you were so sure it would work out, what happened?"
"I didn't want this to happen, Miss Eilish, I really did my best. That bitch is cunning."
"So you can't handle it?"
"I can, I can." Fanny was afraid she would seem useless to Nora and kept promising she would do something. "I wasn't tough enough before, but I know what to do now. Please give me another chance, Miss Eilish."
There was silence for a few seconds before Nora said, "I’ll give you one last chance."
"Okay, okay, I understand." Fanny had been pushed to the brink and was willing to sacrifice everything. She said, "About the thirty thousand for sending the message..."
"How dare you ask for money when you haven't done anything yet? Don't call me until it’s done. I don't want to waste my breath on a useless person." Nora hung up.
After Fanny was scolded, she felt even more frustrated, complaining, "It's not like I didn't try my best. It's all Layla's fault for being so cunning. Nora just asks me to do things without paying me. She won’t even give me the thirty thousand. How stingy."
Fanny realized the situation she was in. She only had one last chance. If she couldn't kill Layla, Nora would kick her out, and Levi would surely retaliate fiercely against Fanny. So, she could only truly secure her position as President of Brightness Design Company when Layla died.
Fanny had to use any means necessary to succeed and fight to the end!
Ava was still crying. Layla was preparing to leave. Someone was waiting for her at home for dinner.
"Stop right there!" Ava shouted at her. "You've caused me so much misery, and now you want to leave?"
"You're responsible for all this, not me."
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn’t..."
"Do you want to continue being deceived by Jacob?" Layla sneered.
If it was the case, it would be beyond foolish. She would deserve it!
"Why do you care? Anyway, I have money, and I'm happy to do it." Ava gave up struggling. "I know you look down on me and think I'm pathetic, but what can I do? I'm fat and ugly. I’m not as young and beautiful as you."
"Everyone was young and everyone will grow old one day. But even when I'm old, I won't be like you. You've brought this upon yourself. Between you and Jacob, one of you is stupid and one of you is despicable. You brought this on yourselves."
Ava felt even worse and continued crying. "What should I do? I have nothing but money. I can only buy love from a man."
"Have you bought love?" Layla asked. "You spent so much money on him, but did he give you genuine happiness?"
Ava fell silent.
Ava kept several men, and they were all very good at making her happy, especially Jacob, who really gave her the illusion of love.
Yes, Ava had always known it was an illusion. Even when she was happy with their sweet words, she could still see greed and hypocrisy in their eyes, but she forced herself not to think about it.
Ava had never truly been happy.
Ava had caused all the chaos that had happened herself.
Layla glanced at Ava, who looked defeated as she sat on the ground. "Without Jacob, you can find other men who are younger, more handsome, and better at making you happy. But if you don't change yourself, I guarantee you'll end up in the same situation. Think about it carefully."
Then Layla left the room.
