Chapter 794 Anthony Has Changed

The next day at KD Company.

Juniper and Brice were waiting for the elevator, along with other employees.

She slightly turned her head and saw Brice looking at her with a loving smile.

Between them was a "little secret" that everyone actually knew, and Brice was childishly happy about it.

At this moment, there was a sudden commotion in the crowd.

"Wow, it's Mr. Eilish, he's back."

"So, Mr. Eilish is actually the heir to the famous Eilish Group. Our company was founded by him alone."

"Have you heard about his runaway marriage?"

"Of course, it's the most sensational news globally recently. Who doesn't know about it?"

"I didn't expect Mr. Eilish to do such a thing. It's shocking."

"Shh, don't talk."

Juniper turned her head, and Anthony walked over, followed by two assistants.

They hadn't seen each other for just half a month, but he had lost a lot of weight.

His cheeks were more chiseled, making him look more masculine, and he had completely shed his former gentleness, becoming somewhat cold.

His demeanor had completely changed!

He was no longer the gentle Anthony she remembered.

It was as if he had become a different person.

Anthony...

Juniper's heart felt like it was being bitten by tiny ants, suddenly filled with mixed emotions.

Anthony acted as if he didn't recognize her, walking past her without a glance and entering the executive elevator.

The image of Anthony's chiseled face and completely different demeanor kept replaying in her mind.

Juniper was lost in thought.

"Juniper, Juniper?" Brice waved his hand in front of her eyes.

She snapped back to reality, and he suddenly hugged her from behind.

"What's wrong?" She was startled.

"Are you thinking about Mr. Eilish?"

Juniper didn't say anything. Was she being too obvious?

"What do you feel when you see him?"

"Nothing special, just a bit worried about his condition. He doesn't seem to be doing well."

"You're not allowed to worry about him," Brice said nervously. "Don't worry about him, okay? Don't think about him, okay?"

"Brice, it's not that kind of thinking. I'm just a bit worried as a friend."

"I know," Brice said. "But even so, I can't help but feel a bit jealous and worried. I'm afraid... afraid that you still have feelings for him... I've always been afraid to ask you, but I've been worried."

"Juniper, I really love you, you know that, right? I love you very much."

"Yes, I know." Juniper gently squeezed his forearm.

"Will you leave me?" Brice, who was quite proud in front of others, was like a boy without a sense of security in front of her.

"Silly, why would you ask such a stupid question?"

"It's not stupid at all. I'm really worried. He's so outstanding... I'm afraid he left a significant memory in your heart, and I'm afraid I can't replace it."

"For me, a breakup is a breakup. The past is the past. I only look forward, I don't linger, and I won't look back," Juniper reassured him.

"Then if we break up, you won't look back either?"

Juniper smiled, "Then let's not break up."

"Really?" Brice still seemed a bit worried.

"Yes. I'm very happy and at ease with you. I want to cherish this relationship. Why would I want to break up?"

"I don't want to break up either. I'm just afraid you'll leave me." Brice hugged her tighter. "I would be heartbroken."

"Silly, don't think too much."

"Then promise me, don't think about him, not even as a friend."

"Okay, I won't think about him," Juniper smiled slightly. "Let's get to work, okay?"

"Okay."

Juniper focused her mind. She didn't want to let Brice down.

In the afternoon, she went upstairs to submit a report to Anthony.

Juniper placed it in front of him and couldn't help but take another look.

His demeanor had really changed completely.

It wasn't good or bad, but she could feel that Anthony had locked his heart away, as if he had set up a barrier, cold and distant.

Would his heart be lonelier? Thinking of this, she couldn't help but feel a bit of heartache.

But she had no right to say a word of concern.

"Mr. Eilish, I'll be leaving now."

"I've already moved on," Anthony suddenly said.

She paused and turned back.

Anthony looked up from the report, gazing at her indifferently.

His eyes no longer held any of the past reluctance and passion, no different from how he looked at others.

It was as if the once blazing flame had completely extinguished, not even leaving a trace of ash.

Completely indifferent.

"You said that people should move forward, and you've already moved on."

Juniper didn't say anything.

"I've also moved on from the past, as you said, starting anew."

"Congratulations." But this congratulations was difficult for her to say. She didn't want him to shut himself off, she didn't want him to be lonely.

"Thank you."

Anthony added, "So you don't have to worry about me bothering you anymore."

"I..."

"Go ahead and get busy."

"Okay." Juniper couldn't tell what she was feeling, her heart heavy and full.

As she walked out of the office and closed the door, she glanced back.

It was as if Anthony had shut his heart with this door, and it was over between them.

Whether he was happy or not was no longer her concern. They both had to move forward.

At the company's dinner in the evening, Anthony also attended.

Brice initially felt a bit uneasy seeing him, but then acted as if nothing was wrong.

Juniper also tried her best to act natural.

At the table, she noticed that Anthony had indeed changed, becoming silent and reserved.

While others chatted, he just watched and listened, looking indifferent, and rarely spoke, only occasionally nodding in response.

He used to be so warm.

Juniper shook her head, 'Don't think about the past, people change. Everyone has a different way of living, maybe he thinks this is better, I have no right to interfere.'

Someone toasted Juniper, and she drank two glasses.

"I'll drink for her," Brice stood up.

Everyone knew about their relationship and teased, "Mr. Darden, what's your relationship with Juniper? Why are you drinking for her?"

"We're colleagues, partners."

"Hahaha... stop lying, everyone in the company knows your 'little secret.' When are you going to make it official?"

"Yeah, we're all anxious, just waiting for your announcement."

"You two are so stubborn, why? Everyone in the company knows."

"Yeah, hurry up and make it official, so we don't have to worry."

"You two are such a perfect match, a handsome man and a beautiful woman, everyone will bless you. Why hide it?"

Brice blushed and glanced at Juniper. He actually wanted to make it official.

His friends at the company always teased him, which was quite awkward, but Juniper said it wasn't the right time.

Taking advantage of everyone's coaxing, he actually hoped to make it official. Although everyone knew, there was a big difference if it wasn't official.

He still had some expectations, his eyes growing warmer.
