Chapter 645: Shrew
Aaron was like a total chameleon. Not only did Saffron and her mom despise him, but even Juniper found him straight-up nauseating.
"I didn't start working at the Eilish Group for you. Don't think you can get any perks from Anthony through me. It's not happening, and I won't let it," Juniper snapped.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Doesn't matter who it's for. You're right to be with Mr. Eilish. You should totally get hitched soon, haha... You've had a long day; go crash upstairs. You got work tomorrow," Aaron said with a smirk.
Juniper rolled her eyes and headed upstairs.
Saffron and her mom were freaking out.
"I thought they broke up, but Juniper shamelessly went to the Eilish Group and even mocked me for being uneducated. She's just a secretary; what's so great about that?" Saffron grumbled, not wanting to admit she was jealous of Juniper's smarts and good grades while she always struggled in school.
"You can't say that. She's the president's secretary, which means she gets to be with Mr. Eilish every day. If they get close, what if they get married?" Elara said.
"Yeah, Mom, what do we do? Think of something."
Elara had a lightbulb moment, "We're so dumb. Those photos are our best weapon. Your dad is biased towards Juniper, but Mr. Eilish won't stand being cheated on. Once he knows Juniper's true colors, he'll definitely dump her and fire her. Then she'll have to come back in shame, and your dad won't favor her anymore."
"Mom, you're a genius. Let's hit up the Eilish Group tomorrow to find Mr. Eilish. Tonight, let's rest up and wait to see Juniper get booted from the Eilish Group in disgrace. Haha."
Juniper drove the family car to work today and got to the office by eight.
Terry was already there, "So early, you're really into this, huh?"
"Since you, the chief secretary, get here so early, it wouldn't look good if I, the junior secretary, was always late," Juniper said with a grin.
"Juniper, you sure know how to talk. How was your first day yesterday? Exhausting, right?"
Juniper nodded, "A bit tiring, but fulfilling. It feels great, way better than being bored."
"The Eilish Group's workload is heavy. I hope you're still this positive in a month. I have high hopes for you." Terry patted her shoulder, "Keep it up."
"Thanks, Terry."
Juniper dove into her work with enthusiasm.
When Anthony arrived, she looked up and stole a glance at him.
He was so handsome. Whether in a black suit or a white suit, he always looked so elegant.
What a charming guy.
The man she liked was so good-looking, she had a great eye for people.
Juniper couldn't help but indulge in girlish fantasies.
She watched Anthony enter his office and then went to get some water.
In the break room, the female colleagues were buzzing.
"Mr. Eilish is the hottest guy ever. Seeing him every day is practically life-extending."
"Mr. Holland from the Holland Group is also hot, but he's the cold type, while Mr. Eilish is the gentle type."
"I prefer the gentle type like Mr. Eilish, very gentlemanly."
"He's the biggest perk for the women in our company."
"I've been working here for a year, and the best part is seeing Mr. Eilish every day."
"Juniper, don't you think so too?"
"Isn't Mr. Eilish the most handsome man in the world?"
Juniper smirked. Of course. The guy she liked wasn't just the most handsome in the world; he was the most handsome in the universe.
She was carrying her hot tea out when she unexpectedly bumped into Elara and Saffron coming in.
"What are you doing here?" Juniper hurriedly stepped forward to block them.
"Why can't we be here? I'm here to expose your true colors and seek justice," Elara snapped.
"This is the Eilish Group, not a place for you to cause trouble."
"I know this is the Eilish Group, that's why I'm here to make a scene!" Elara's voice was like a megaphone.
"If we don't make a scene here, where else can we outdo you? You stole my daughter's fiancé and still act so righteous. How shameless. You pretend to be so well-mannered outside, aren't you hypocritical?" Elara's shouting attracted a lot of attention, and colleagues started whispering.
"Stealing someone's fiancé, how shameless."
"She looks like a decent girl, but who knew..."
"Her features are so seductive, she doesn't look like a decent girl."
"Causing such a scene on her second day at work, I don't think she'll keep her job."
"Terry had high hopes for her, even hired her exceptionally."
"Maybe Terry was just looking at her appearance."
Juniper's face was burning, and she clenched her fists.
"You stole my daughter's fiancé and now you want to hit me? Go ahead, hit me! You're so arrogant and not afraid of karma!"
"Don't cause trouble here, take it outside," Juniper said.
"I'm not leaving." Elara shook off Juniper's hand, "I want to make a scene here, let everyone see your true colors."
"Mr. Eilish, Mr. Eilish—" Elara yelled.
"Elara!" Juniper was really tempted to slap her. This shrew deserved a beating!
Terry came out of the office, "Mr. Eilish wants to see you."
"Juniper, just you wait." Elara said arrogantly, and Saffron smiled smugly.
They swaggered into the office.
"Do you know the consequences of causing trouble in my company?" Anthony asked.
As soon as they entered, the temperature dropped.
Anthony's normally pleasant countenance was now clouded with somberness.
Seeing this side of him for the first time, Elara couldn't help but shiver.
"Mr. Eilish, you misunderstand. I'm not here to cause trouble. I want you to see Juniper's true colors, so you won't be deceived by her. We didn't expose your relationship just now, did we?" Elara didn't dare to offend Anthony. She wanted to ruin Juniper but not at the cost of angering Anthony. "Mr. Eilish, you don't know, Juniper seduced Saffron's fiancé, the one you met, Douglas."
Juniper was furious. She thought Anthony would deny their relationship, which would be good as it would stop Elara and Saffron from bothering her. However...
Anthony coldly smirked, "Juniper betrayed me to be with that scumbag?"
He didn't deny it?
Juniper was shocked, 'He doesn't deny it?'
Saffron's face burned, and to save face, she reluctantly defended Douglas, "Mr. Eilish, although Douglas was rude last time, he's not as bad as you think. It's Juniper who slandered him in front of you."
"Saffron, Elara, have some shame. This is the Eilish Group, not a marketplace for you to bicker like shrews," Juniper warned.
