Chapter 524 Teasing Dad was More Fun Than Playing with Lego

Susan rolled back to the villa, feeling kinda bummed out.

May strutted over with this weird grin plastered on her face. "Did Mr. Eilish bounce?"

The way she said it made Susan think May was rubbing it in, but she shrugged it off as her mind playing tricks.

Susan shot back, "If he didn't leave, should I really let him crash here? Dad would flip."

May smirked, "You kidding yourself? You got a kid already, but you're still acting like you're in high school, talking about family rules and all that nonsense. Is it really necessary?"

Those words hit hard, making Susan squirm. "May, don't go blabbing to Caleb about my stuff."

"You're asking me to keep secrets now?" May raised an eyebrow.

"It's just not needed."

May pressed on, "If you and Michael are just buddies, then why can't you talk about it? Unless there's something fishy going on."

Susan usually let May's jabs slide, but this time, it was too much. "Michael and I are on the up and up, what could I possibly be hiding?"

"Then why can't Mr. Eilish know if it's all good? He's only upset 'cause you're being all secretive."

"He's just too touchy," Susan snapped back.

May shook her head, "And you blame him? Honestly, I'm with Mr. Eilish on this one. Imagine if he was all chummy with some chick, could you stay cool? Don't expect from others what you can't do yourself. That's just messed up."

"I..."

May cut her off, "Susan, don't get all bent out of shape. We're family, so I'm keeping it real. You're playing both sides with two guys."

Susan was floored by May's bluntness. "Is that really what you think of me?"

May shrugged, "Doesn't matter what I think; it's about what you're doing. My opinion's based on your actions. If you were straight-up, I wouldn't feel this way, right? Don't act like everyone's out to get you and you're the only saint. Sometimes, think about if what you're doing is cool. Anyway, I've said my piece. Whether you listen or not is up to you. But you've always done your own thing, so you probably won't care. Do what you want." May headed upstairs.

Susan glared at May's back. 'Am I overthinking, or is May just being a jerk?'

Susan tossed and turned all night and ended up waking up late, rushing to the office.

The morning elevator was packed, and Susan got squished to the back.

As she tried to keep her balance, a tall figure stepped in, causing a buzz.

"Whoa, it's Mr. Eilish."

"He's using the employee elevator? Is the exec one busted?"

"Mr. Eilish is so dreamy. I can't handle tall guys."

"That build, even top models can't compete."

Susan kept her head down, trying to blend in, hoping Caleb didn't spot her.

The elevator climbed floor by floor, people getting off along the way.

Finally, it hit her floor.

"Excuse me, thanks..." Susan mumbled.

Just as she was about to squeeze out, she tripped and almost face-planted.

A hand grabbed her wrist, pulling her back with ease.

That grip, Susan didn't need to look up to know who it was. She was way too familiar with his vibe.

Susan didn't dare look up, muttered a quick thanks, and bolted out of the elevator.

As the doors closed, she glanced back, feeling all sorts of mixed up.

---

In the afternoon.

Kindergarten.

At 4:30, the kindergarten entrance was buzzing with parents picking up their kids.

"Later, teacher!"

"Thanks, teacher!"

"See ya, teacher!"

As soon as Oliver stepped out, he spotted a familiar face. Caleb, with his towering height and killer looks, stood out like a sore thumb in the crowd.

"Caleb!" Oliver waved.

Caleb strolled over from his flashy Maserati.

The female teacher gawked at him. "Oliver, is that your dad?"

They looked so alike. Not like twins, but the resemblance was at least 60%, both super good-looking.

Oliver nodded.

"Hi, Oliver's dad. I'm his teacher." The female teacher was so nervous she could barely get the words out.

"Hey." Caleb nodded.

"Uncle, why are you picking me up today? Where are Grandpa and Grandma?" Oliver asked.

"I already told them. I'm picking you up today." Caleb replied.

"Oh."

"Uncle? Not Dad?" the female teacher asked, confused.

"He's still on probation. Once he passes, I'll call him Dad," Oliver explained.

The teacher thought, 'What kind of goddess is his mom to still be testing such a handsome and rich guy?'

Caleb usually rolled with it, but right now, he felt a bit ticked off. 'Susan's testing me, and now Oliver too. Do they not take me seriously at all? Is this so-called test just giving them more time to keep their options open?'

Caleb's face darkened as he grabbed Oliver's hand. "Let's go."

"Uncle, are you sure you told Grandpa and Grandma? If they can't find me, they'll freak out." Oliver asked.

"You think I'd lie?" Caleb frowned. "Even you don't trust me? Or do you not wanna come with me?"

"No, you got it wrong. I was just checking..." Oliver mumbled. Getting mad at a kid, it seemed Caleb was already insanely jealous.

'Great! Who told him to marry another woman before, making Mommy suffer for four years? He deserves some payback,' Oliver thought.

Oliver hopped into the front seat and buckled up. "Wow, your car is so cool! It's awesome!"

Caleb snorted. "Better than your mom's car, right?"

Oliver shook his head. "Mommy's car has a child seat."

Caleb frowned. "You little rascal, always siding with your mommy."

Oliver replied, "Mommy gave birth to me and raised me. Of course, I side with her."

Caleb asked, "So if your mommy doesn't want me, you won't want me either?"

Oliver nodded without a second thought. "Yep, I'll always stand by Mommy."

Caleb almost choked.

After a few seconds, he said, "So if your mommy marries another guy, you'll accept him as your dad too?" Of course, that would never happen! Unless he was dead!

"Yep." Oliver replied.

"Fuck!" Caleb couldn't help but curse, "You're my son!"

"Uncle, you shouldn't use bad words. It's wrong." Oliver said.

"You're the one who pissed me off!" Caleb retorted.

"I was just honestly answering your question, not trying to upset you." Oliver thought to himself, 'I'm trying to upset you. Daddy, such a big person, looks cool on the outside, but when he's jealous, he's more childish than a kid, like a highly flammable and explosive bomb, too cute. Teasing Daddy is more fun than playing with Legos.'

The more Oliver talked, the angrier Caleb got. No wonder Susan raised him; both the mom and the kid loved to irritate him.

He got upset with the older one, and now the younger one was giving him a hard time too. Caleb suspected he might get a heart attack, no, die of a myocardial infarction.

"Caleb, your face is scary. I wanna get out." Oliver said.

Caleb gritted his teeth and growled, "Sit tight!"
