Chapter 797 Climbing Up to Another Man

She looked at him, unimpressed.

Juniper rolled her eyes internally.

She already disliked playboys, especially greasy men like Charles who lacked self-awareness. She found him utterly repulsive.

However, in the workplace, no matter how much you dislike someone, you usually don't show it too obviously.

Juniper swallowed her disgust. "Can we start working now?"

Charles chuckled. "Just kidding, trying to lighten the mood. Don't take it seriously."

She didn't think it was just a joke.

But Juniper didn't say anything, just took out the documents.

Charles stroked his chin, walked over to her, leaned in to look at the documents, and propped his hand on the table.

At first, he kept a bit of distance, but gradually, his breath got closer and closer, encroaching on Juniper.

"Where's the data from? Let me see."

As he got closer, Juniper became increasingly uncomfortable.

She frowned.

The moment he leaned in forcefully, Juniper dodged.

"What are you doing?"

"What am I doing? Didn't you say we were working?" Charles laughed, as if she was overreacting.

"You're too close," Juniper coldly reminded him.

"I'm nearsighted and didn't wear my contacts today. How can I see clearly without getting closer? Don't be so jumpy, as if I'm interested in you."

Charles shifted the blame onto her. "Just because you're a beauty and many men in the company like you doesn't mean I do. Aren't you a bit too narcissistic?"

This guy was not only greasy in behavior but also had a terrible character.

Juniper's disgust for him ran deep.

How could they possibly cooperate?

But she was the partner and had no right to request a replacement, so she had to endure.

Charles knew she had no choice, and his greasy eyes scanned her up and down. "I like women with big, hot chests, at least a D cup. You're just..." Charles sneered.

He stared at her chest with a meaningful and evil look.

Juniper almost threw up. This definitely counted as sexual harassment!

Charles would occasionally lean in to test her, make disrespectful jokes about women, brag about how many women liked him and catered to him, and even say that women nowadays were cheap, easy, and money-hungry, flocking to rich men.

Juniper was infuriated!

Charles was so disgusting.

But she disdained arguing with him. Arguing with such a person wouldn't change anything; it would only encourage him.

Juniper had encountered such people before and knew their personalities well. The best approach was to ignore them and keep a distance.

At times like this, she especially missed her lovely Brice. He was a true gentleman, making her feel very comfortable and happy from the start.

The morning felt like torture for Juniper, and she was relieved when it was finally lunchtime.

She eagerly packed up to go eat, but Charles followed. "Let's go together."

"I'm just getting takeout."

"We have a two-hour lunch break. Why get takeout?"

"I want to get back to work early."

"What's the matter? Afraid Brice can't support you?" Charles teased.

"He makes a hundred thousand dollars a month and can't support a woman? Is he stingy with you? Seriously... I'm always generous with women."

Juniper was speechless.

"It's your first day at work. Let me treat you to lunch."

"No need."

"Come on, don't be so polite."

As they entered the restaurant, Charles suddenly put his arm around her waist.

Juniper immediately moved away and gave him a disapproving look, but Charles just smiled nonchalantly. "You're really too sensitive. Are you always like this? It's just a gentlemanly gesture."

Juniper felt like she had swallowed a fly.

If another man did this at a dinner party, she might consider it a gentlemanly gesture, but when Charles did it, it was definitely taking advantage of her. It was disgusting.

"Brice is my boyfriend. Everyone in the company knows. I think we should keep our distance to avoid unnecessary gossip."

"You're overthinking it. I have no such thoughts." Charles spread his hands, looking innocent.

Juniper internally despised this kind of person. He was the most disgusting!

They sat down to eat in the restaurant.

"This meat is good. Try it." Charles forked a piece onto her plate, the same piece his lips had touched earlier.

So gross.

Juniper wanted to throw it in his face.

"Not going to try it?"

"I don't like it."

"Then what do you like? I can treat you to it tonight."

"No need."

"Why? Afraid Brice will get mad? Does he control you that strictly?"

Juniper kept her head down, not wanting to engage.

"Why won't you look at me? Am I too charming for you to handle?"

How self-absorbed could someone be to say something like that? Juniper almost gagged.

Didn't he ever look in the mirror?

Objectively, he wasn't ugly. He had decent features, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a high nose bridge.

But he was about the same age as Brice and already had a bulging belly, far from Brice's fit physique. And speaking of looks, mixed-race people were generally more attractive.

She didn't see any particularly outstanding abilities in him either.

How someone like him could still be at KD Company was beyond Juniper.

"If you fall for me, just let me know. I don't mind. I like brave girls." Charles gave her a "charming" smile.

Great, Juniper felt she could skip dinner now.

Murmurs spread around them.

"Why is that bitch having lunch with Charles? Where's Brice?"

"Don't you know? Brice had a car accident."

"Is he okay?"

"Should be fine, but I heard he needs to stay in the hospital for a few days."

"He's been fine all along, and then this bitch shows up and he has an accident. She really is a jinx."

"Totally. Brice is in the hospital, and they paired her with Charles. She immediately latched onto him, feeding each other in the company restaurant. So gross."

"Charles is way worse than Brice."

"But the novelty is irresistible. I heard Charles is good in bed... and generous with women."

"A woman like her can't have genuine feelings. She's definitely after money and sex. Can you expect such a woman to have principles and be loyal to Brice? No way."

"No, I can't let Brice be deceived. I need to show him her true colors."

"Agreed. Brice used to be our prince charming. If he breaks up with her, he'll still be my prince charming."

They picked up their phones and took pictures of the scene.

On the other side, Joey shook his head, feeling sorry for Brice.

'How could he be so devoted to such a woman? He's in the hospital, and she immediately turns to Charles. She changes men faster than clothes,' he thought.

"She really is something," Joey realized he had spoken out loud and quickly looked at Anthony.
