Chapter 796 Car Accident

Just as Juniper finally decided to give herself to him, Brice passed out drunk.

The person on top of her stopped moving, and Juniper opened her eyes to see that Brice had already fallen asleep.

She was both amused and exasperated.

Secretly, she also breathed a sigh of relief, glad that nothing had happened.

She realized that she wasn't really ready and was just forcing herself, cutting off her own retreat.

Would she regret this in the future? At this moment, she felt a bit relieved.

But she didn't regret choosing Brice. Some things, some feelings, should be taken slowly and not rushed; that way, they could last longer.

She gave the bed to Brice and went to sleep on the couch herself.

In the morning, she was making breakfast in the kitchen when Brice hugged her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder, "Good morning, my beauty."

"Morning."

"Did you sleep on the couch last night?"

"Yeah."

"Why didn't you sleep with me? Are you disgusted by me?"

"You reeked of alcohol, what do you think?"

"So you are disgusted by me." Brice pretended to cry, "You're so heartless. If you were the one who got drunk, I would have stayed by your side without moving an inch."

"Last night was my first time staying over at my sweetheart's place, and I actually fell asleep! Fell asleep!" Brice pounded his chest in mock agony.

"We were supposed to sleep anyway, what else did you want to do?"

"What do you think I wanted to do? Of course, I wanted to do something naughty!" Brice rubbed his nose against her neck, "If I don't do something naughty, am I still a man?"

Thinking about how close they came last night... Juniper shook her head and prepared oatmeal with milk. "Go take a shower, you reek of alcohol."

"Baby, is it still too late to do something naughty now?"

"Too late." She rolled her eyes at him.

"Then... let's shower together."

"You're boring. Hurry up, or you'll be late for work."

"My baby has no sense of romance." Brice shook his head and pinched her cheek, "You heartless woman, how can you be indifferent to my sexy body?"

Before leaving, Brice said, "I don't close the door when I shower, feel free to peek."

Juniper was exasperated and felt like kicking him.

After breakfast, Juniper made him a cup of coffee.

"You're so considerate, baby." Brice took a sip and frowned, "It's bitter, I need sugar."

"I didn't bring any sugar."

"You don't need to bring sugar; you are the sugar, baby." Brice said, kissing her on the lips.

Juniper quickly wiped her lips, "So bitter."

"Haha, let's taste it together."

As they were going downstairs, Juniper asked, "Are you sober? Should I drive?"

"I'm sober. How could I let my baby be the driver? You can rest in the car. I've got this."

'This guy used to be so steady, but now he's getting more and more playful,' Juniper thought.

In the car, Juniper was sending an email when she looked up and saw a child suddenly run in front of the car.

"Watch out!" she shouted.

Brice quickly swerved and hit the roadside barrier.

At the hospital.

Brice had a broken right hand in a cast. Juniper was unscathed.

"Does it hurt?" Juniper asked.

"It's okay, thank God you're fine. Otherwise, I wouldn't know how to explain to your father. I'm sorry."

"It was an emergency, and you reacted quickly. It was that mom who didn't watch her child, letting him run into the road suddenly."

Juniper still felt scared thinking about it. They were lucky to have only minor injuries; if they had hit the child, it would have been a big problem.

It's not about the money; a child's injury is very serious.

"Yeah, we'll have to keep a close eye on our baby in the future."

Brice added, "Now that my hand is injured, the company will probably send someone else to work on this project with you."

"Yeah."

"Our department is all men, and I'm already jealous thinking about it." Brice said bitterly, "No, I have to go back to work. I can't let other men get close to you."

"The doctor said you need to stay in the hospital for a week. Do you want to lose your hand?"

"If my hand really broke, would you still want me?"

"No."

Brice was crushed.

"So you have to rest well this week, got it?"

Brice pouted, "Got it. You said you wouldn't want me, so how could I not rest well?"

Although Juniper always took the lead, he was willing. He used to be the dominant one in relationships, even a bit chauvinistic. But in front of her, he completely surrendered.

And he enjoyed it.

"Don't worry, I'll come to see you every day after work as long as I don't have to work late."

"Keep your distance from those 'wolves' at the company."

"Don't you trust me?" Juniper laughed.

"Of course, I trust you," Brice quickly said, "I don't trust them."

Juniper smiled.

"Having a beautiful girlfriend is worrisome. I'm always afraid other men will approach you."

"Have some confidence in yourself and our relationship, okay?" Juniper placed her hand on the back of his left hand.

Brice felt warm inside, "Okay."

"I'm going to the company now. I'll come back after work."

"Thank you for running back and forth."

"It's not hard; I enjoy it." Juniper winked.

At the company, a colleague told her that the temporary replacement for Brice was the general manager, Charles.

Juniper's first reaction was that she was unlucky.

Charles was also there last night, and he was the one who kept pushing Brice to drink.

Charles was well-known in the company for being a playboy. He came from a good family but was too much of a flirt and often harassed female employees.

He frequently harassed female colleagues but never took responsibility; most of the time, he was just playing around. Even when he had a girlfriend, it never lasted more than a week.

Juniper was very disgusted by this kind of person, and his character wasn't good either.

Unlucky, but there was no choice.

She entered Charles' office.

"Sweetheart, wear that black outfit I gave you tonight. It's my favorite..." Charles didn't even try to hide it when he saw her come in. Instead, he deliberately spoke loudly and threw her a greasy wink.

Juniper felt a bit nauseous. People are really different. Charles and Brice were about the same age and held similar positions, but Brice was a gentleman, while Charles was a sleazeball, already so greasy at a young age.

"Okay, wait for me tonight." Charles kissed the phone, "Sorry, women are just so troublesome..." He shrugged.

He had clearly enjoyed it just now, but now he was pretending to be helpless, as if he was being pestered by women.

Juniper couldn't stand it.

Charles joked, "Brice just admitted your relationship last night, and today he got into a car accident. Does that mean he can't handle having such a beautiful girlfriend?"

Making such a joke showed that he had a foul mouth and a bad heart.

Juniper didn't want to argue with him, "Let's get to work."

"Don't be so serious. How can we cooperate like this? We're partners now; we need to be friendly."

"I'm not being serious."

"Then give me a smile. You look the best when you smile; it melts my heart."

With him saying that, Juniper naturally didn't want to smile at him, "I'm always like this."

"No, you're not. You always smile sweetly at Brice."

"Brice is my boyfriend. Who are you?"

Charles raised an eyebrow, thinking he was charming, "So only your boyfriend can see your beautiful, radiant smile? What do you think of me?"
