Chapter 328 Still Dealing with People's Bodies

Dozens of eyes turned toward Fanny in unison.
The office was filled with tension, creating an awkward atmosphere.
The fact that the two of them didn't get along was well-known in the office, but openly insulting each other in a meeting was a first.
"Fanny, mind your language." Levi warned sternly, "You were over an hour late for the meeting, and now you're insulting your colleagues. Do you not want to work here anymore?"
"She locked us in the restroom. That's why we were late." Fanny retorted.
"Yeah, Levi. It's all her fault. We didn't mean to be late." Another one said.
Layla raised her eyes indifferently. "Any evidence?"
Fanny, full of anger, retorted, "Don't talk to me about evidence. No one else but you would use such dirty tricks."
"Oh, so are you the one who locked me in the pantry last night, trying to make me stay there overnight?" Layla countered.
"What? You were locked in the pantry last night?" Levi asked in surprise. 'Being locked in all night when no one was in the office was no joke. Fanny had gone too far!' Levi thought.
"Yes. She waited until everyone else had left, and I didn't have my phone with me before locking me in."
The other colleagues couldn't help but be surprised by Fanny's ruthless tactics. It's normal for colleagues to have conflicts, but locking someone in the pantry all night was too out of line. If that was the case, then Layla locking them in the restroom today was justified.
Fanny denied vehemently, "You have no witnesses or evidence. Don't blame me."
"Then do you have witnesses or evidence to prove that it was me who locked the three of you in the restroom?"
Fanny was speechless.
Levi had a clear picture of the situation and slammed the table. "Enough, stop arguing! Fanny, I've been patient with you because you're a senior employee, but if you continue to cause trouble like this, I won't tolerate it. The three of you have no attendance bonus this month. Get out!"
Fanny was about to retort but was interrupted.
"Get out!"
"Let's go, Fanny." The two subordinates, who had never seen Levi lose his temper, were also startled and quickly led Fanny away.
Even as Fanny was being dragged away, she couldn't help but glare fiercely at Layla.
After the meeting, Fanny glared at Layla as she left the meeting room, wishing she could tear her apart.
"Fanny, does this mean we won't get the attendance bonus this month? It's the 25th already, and I've been clocking in and out on time every day. Was it all for nothing?"
"Why don't you try begging Levi again? Levi is so good to you. He'll listen to you."
"Yes. Losing the attendance bonus means losing two hundred dollars, which could buy three lipsticks. I can't bear to lose the bonus."
Fanny might not care about losing three to four thousand dollars a month, but they do care about that, as their wages were only a little over a thousand dollars. They thought that it would be nice for them to use two hundred dollars to buy some makeup.
Fanny was already full of anger, and the two of them kept arguing, which only made her more furious. "Shut up. Can you not even afford lipstick? Then why don't you quit already!"
'Layla, just you wait!' She cursed inwardly.
In the afternoon, it was at the Sheeran Group's resort project site.
"Here come the two designers!" A chubby-faced foreman smoking a cigarette walked over with a smile. His face bore some resemblance to Fanny's.
Layla asked him for a safety helmet.
"No need. Our construction team is the safest, and it's fine not to wear a helmet." the foreman said nonchalantly.
Layla insisted on wearing one.
Fanny sneered on the side, "What's wrong? Having done so many bad things, are you afraid of dying?"
"Wearing a safety helmet at the construction site is common sense," Layla replied coldly to Fanny.
"What are you pretending for? Are you the only designer here? I'm the design director."
Fanny crossed her arms and shouted at the foreman, "How's the progress?"
The foreman patted his chest confidently. "I've got it under control. You can rest assured that everything is proceeding in an orderly manner."
"Really? Don't just talk big."
"No problem at all."
While Fanny was chatting with the foreman, Layla carefully inspected the site and returned, only to find Fanny still chatting with the foreman without even looking at the site.
"After today's work is done, you go calculate the wages. There is no need to come tomorrow."
Layla casually dropped a bombshell, leaving both the foreman and Fanny stunned.
"What did you say? No need to come tomorrow?"
"Yeah, tomorrow I'll be changing the construction team."
"What kind of joke is this? The company's projects have always been entrusted to me. You want to change people just as you wish?"
"I just checked the water and electricity, as well as your renovations. None of them meet the standards, and there are signs of cutting corners."
The foreman hurriedly denied, "You're talking nonsense. We've been craftsmen for decades, and I've never had any issues. There's no way we'd cut corners."
"It's just that there haven't been any issues yet. I can't allow any safety hazards in my project. Wearing a safety helmet during construction is common sense. Several people on your team don't wear them, and they're also careless when working. Just on this point alone, it doesn't meet my requirements."
"Young lady, many construction teams are like this after working for a long time. You don't need to make a big deal out of it, right? In other words, our craftsmen are confident in themselves as they know there won't be any problems. That's why they don't wear safety helmets."
"Twisting the truth."
The foreman couldn't argue with her and quickly signaled to Fanny.
"Layla, do you have the authority to change the construction team?" Fanny asked.
"Levi has given me the authority. I just need to inform him."
"Why don't you just say the company is yours, and you're in charge of everything? What cutting corners? Stop talking nonsense. With my years of experience, I see no issues here."
"You haven't even looked. What makes you think there are no issues?"
Chin up, Fanny said, "Can't I rely on experience? Can't I rely on years of trust in our cooperation? We've always entrusted our projects to him, and there have been no problems."
Layla countered, "Do I need to call an inspection company to come and check?"
"You've even bribed the inspection company? You're quite the actress! Layla, I know what you're up to. You want to change the construction team and make money from it."
Layla's lips twitched. "Do you think I'm like you, handing over projects to my relatives for money?"
The foreman and Fanny's faces froze. 'We have acted unfamiliar enough. How did she still see through us? This Layla, her eyes were too sharp!' Fanny thought.
"What are you saying? I don't understand. Our company's projects have always been entrusted to him and will continue to do so in the future, so stop talking nonsense."
"The project doesn't meet standards, and there are safety hazards. It must be changed." Layla's tone was firm.
"Where are the hazards? I see no issues. You're clearly targeting me. " Fanny pushed Layla.
"That's right. Young lady, you're too heartless. Do you think we are easy to be bullied? Although we haven't been to school, we're not people you can replace at will."
As the leader spoke, several workers with fierce expressions surrounded Layla.
