Chapter 355 Apologizing

'Wife?' she thought.

Layla's heartstrings were suddenly touched, her ears feeling hot, and shecouldn't help but put on a smile.

"Happy now?" Samuel teased.

"Not at all." Layla couldn't hold back her smile.

"I'll deal with my work now. Don't stay up late, OK? I'll text you later."

"Okay, bye." Layla hung up the phone, collapsed on the sofa, and rolled around with a toy in her arms.

She couldn't help but laugh.

In France, a tall figure and a graceful figure walked into the elevator one after the other.
The mixed-race interpreter looked admiringly at the tall, handsome man in a tailcoat in front of her, her heart pounding hard.

Her fingers tightened on the hem of her skirt.

The elevator ascended floor by floor.

The female interpreter took a deep breath and wore a charming smile, her face flushed as she asked, "Mr. Holland, do I look good in this dress?"

The interpreter had always been conservative, but to attract Samuel, she deliberately wore a deep V-neck dress with a slit in the skirt up to her thighs, showing off her long legs. She had previously won the Miss French pageant with a seductive and youthful figure, causing countless men to admire her.

Samuel nodded but didn't look at her.

"Mr. Holland, you haven't even shot me a glance." The interpreter looked disappointed. "Do I look awful?"

"You just need to do your job well. Your appearance is irrelevant."

"Is your wife beautiful?"

"She's gorgeous." Samuel's deep eyes suddenly softened. "No one is more beautiful than her in my heart."

The interpreter felt a pang of jealousy. 'She must be a beauty to become Samuel's wife. But there are so many beauties in the world, why her?' she thought.

She thought she was beautiful, too. She was really jealous of Layla
.
"I didn't know you were already married." The interpreter was full of disappointment.

"Do I need to report to you?" Samuel raised his eyebrows, mocking the interpreter's self-righteousness directly.

"That's not what I meant." The interpreter instantly lost her calmness. "Mr. Holland, I like you. I'm not a casual woman, but I admire you too much. Even if you are already married, I don't mind. I won't bug you, even if it's just to leave a beautiful memory for one night."

"But I mind." Samuel coldly interrupted her and stepped out of the elevator.

His resolute voice then pierced through the air. "You're fired!"

The interpreter stood there embarrassed, tears streaming down her face.

The next morning, Layla finished breakfast on the way Mr. Vandella drove her.

Before getting out of the car, Mr. Vandella encouraged her, "Miss Adkins, keep it up!"

Layla raised her fists and said with high spirits, "I will!"
After a hearty breakfast, Layla was now full of energy.

As soon as she stepped into the office, she heard those annoying voices again.

"Layla Adkins, how dare you offend Mr. Hawthorne!" Fanny approached like an enraged hen, about to explode.

Layla calmly put down her bag.

"Mr. Hawthorne was furious on the phone, saying you disrespected him and spoke rudely to him." Fanny slammed the table.

"He's not worthy of respect, to begin with. Besides, he was being rude, not me." Layla's tone was light but serious.

What Leonard had said to Layla was close to sexual harassment actually!

Layla couldn't even think about it, fearing she would disgust herself.

"He's our important client. Whatever he says is right. Do you want your clients to beg you? Who do you think you are?" Fanny scolded. "Because of you, he doesn't even want to cooperate with us anymore. Can you afford the loss of millions?"

"If he doesn't want to cooperate, I can't do anything about it. If you think I'm not capable, you can let someone else do it." Layla glanced at the female employees who were making a fuss, and they all unconsciously took a step back from Layla.

No one wanted to go as it was like jumping into a fire pit.

"I'm telling you to go. You can't handle it, and you're shirking the responsibility. Now, immediately apologize to Mr. Hawthorne and get the deal for me," Fanny ordered angrily.

"It's better to have a sexual relationship with him, isn't it?" Layla smiled coldly. "Just like before, a married female designer, you forced her to have a sexual relationship with a client for a deal, and in the end, she couldn't bear your coercion and resigned on her own."

"You're talking nonsense!" Fanny's face turned red.

Cassandra lowered her head guiltily, trembling with nervousness. In order to please Layla, she had leaked many company secrets to her, not expecting Layla to reveal them. She acted as if she wasn't interested in secrets at first, but now she pulled this move.

'Damn it!' she cursed inwardly.

"Whether you did it or not, everyone here is very clear." Layla raised her voice.

"I'm saying you're not doing your job well. Why bring up others? Now, go find Mr. Hawthorne immediately, apologize to him, and beg him to cooperate with us."

Layla remained indifferent, took a seat, and simply replied, "Never!"

"What did you say?"

"You heard me clearly."

Fanny's face turned red with fury. "You said yourself that if you can't close a deal, you won't get paid."

"I didn't say that. I said I could get paid for closing a deal, but I didn't say I wouldn't get paid if I couldn't secure any deals. If you don't pay me, I'll sue you."

"Sue me? Go ahead! I'd like to see who dares to go against Miss Eilish's company," Fanny shouted arrogantly.

'A single order from Samuel could ruin Nora's company easily,' Layla thought.

With Samuel to rely on, Layla wasn't afraid. They didn't know the powerful figure behind Layla. Otherwise, they would all be begging for mercy.

"You have to apologize to Mr. Hawthorne today, whether you want to or not!" Fanny shouted to the security guard. "Take her to Mr. Hawthorne. If she refuses, press her head down. No matter what, she must get the deal today."

"Yes, Ms. Taylor."

Three strong security guards, specially brought by Fanny, approached Layla.

The onlookers were eager to see the show, reveling in the misfortune.

Levi dared not speak out, lowered his head, and clenched his fists.

"Stop."

At this moment, a furious shout was heard.

Fanny turned around in surprise. "Mr. Hawthorne."

"Mr. Hawthorne, what brings you here? Are you here to teach her a lesson yourself? I was about to bring her over to apologize to you." Fanny tried to please with a smile. "It's her fault to have offended you. You can deal with her however you like, scold or even punish her. As long as you're happy, anything goes."

Fanny was eager to humiliate Layla in public. The more humiliating, the better.

"Layla Adkins, why haven't you apologized to Mr. Hawthorne yet?"

"Someone should apologize, but it's you, you idiot!" Mr. Hawthorne slapped Fanny to the ground.
