Chapter 475 Won't Forgive Easily
Hotel Lounge.
"Are you nuts? Haven't you embarrassed yourself enough?" Trevor Bailey shoved Grace onto the sofa.
"Embarrassed? I'm the victim here. Caleb should be ashamed."
"You think this will win him back? You're just making him hate you more," Trevor snapped.
"I don't want him back. Even if he begged, I wouldn't take him."
"He won't beg. Do you think he doesn't despise you? Cheating with a bodyguard? How did I end up with a daughter like you?" Trevor slapped Grace in anger.
Grace felt dizzy but quickly stood up, defiant. "He can cheat, but I can't?"
"I told you from the start he didn't like you. I warned you not to marry him, but you were stubborn. Now he cheats, and you can't blame him. And Candy isn't even his kid. Look at the mess you've made."
"Do you know the Eilish Group is pressuring our company? Our stock price has tanked, and he's bought part of it. Caleb's warning us to back off, or he'll bankrupt the Bailey Group."
"Let it go bankrupt, I don't care," Grace shouted.
"You idiot! There are plenty of men out there. Why ruin our family over one who doesn't want you? The Bailey Group was built by generations. I won't let you destroy it. From today on, you're not leaving the house."
"I won't. I want to expose him. I'll fight him at all costs. He ruined me, and I won't let him get away with it."
"Fight him? Do you even have the capability? You're overestimating yourself."
"Quentin, Oscar, Grace has lost it. Take her home and don't let her out!"
"Yes, Mr. Bailey."
"Let go of me..."
"Dad, I want to fight Caleb to the death."
"I want to take him down with me."
"I want Candy, Dad..."
Grace screamed hysterically.
Trevor closed his eyes, trying to calm down before taking out his phone. "Mr. Eilish, I've punished Grace and locked her up. Please, for Candy's sake, spare the Bailey family. I'm begging you."
The hospital was quiet in the afternoon.
Susan was reading, and Oliver was drawing beside her. It was peaceful.
"Grandma!" Oliver suddenly exclaimed, dropping his pencil and rushing into Mia's arms. "Grandma's here."
"Oliver, Grandma missed you so much. Did you miss Grandma?"
Oliver nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes, yes, I think about Grandma every day."
Mia was thrilled; her precious grandson was worth all the love.
"Oliver, are you drawing? It looks great."
"Yeah."
Mia looked at Susan, feeling awkward. "Are you... okay?"
"Fine," Susan said coldly, clearly not welcoming Mia's visit.
"Mommy, Grandma brought lots of fruit."
"No need, take it back." Susan's tone was icy.
Oliver sensed the tension. "Mommy, I want an apple. Let's eat apples. Grandma, I'll go wash some."
Oliver took three apples and went to wash them.
"Ms. Wilson, you know about Caleb's divorce, right?"
"I know, it's none of my business," Susan said flatly.
"How can it be none of your business? Caleb divorced because of you," Mia said. "Since he's single now and you have a child together, why not..."
"No need to say more, it's impossible," Susan cut her off.
She wouldn't let anyone push her around. The Eilish family had humiliated her before, and she wouldn't forgive them. She had her limits.
They had rejected her and tried to take Oliver away. Now they wanted her back? No way.
"Ms. Wilson, I know Aidan was harsh before. Don't take it to heart; that's just his temper. He often says hurtful things. I can't help it, he often makes me furious. But he doesn't have a bad heart..."
He doesn't have a bad heart? Susan thought that was absurd.
Among the people Susan knew, Aidan was definitely at the top of the list of those who were both stupid and malicious.
"I know we've done hurtful things to you before, but please understand, as parents, we were just thinking of our child..."
Susan let out a cold laugh. "Since you know what you did was hurtful, why should I understand? You did it for Caleb's sake, that's your business. To me, you are the enemies who hurt my family and tried to take my son."
Mia was speechless for a few seconds. She had known from the start that Susan was tough, different from those women who wanted to marry into the Eilish family. She had backbone.
"Then why don't we turn enemies into friends..."
"Whether to turn enemies into friends is up to me. If you say it, it's a joke."
"Ms. Wilson, I understand you're upset. I apologize on behalf of my husband and my son. But people need to learn to forgive; it's also a way to let go of yourself. There's no need to hold a grudge..."
"I'm not holding a grudge. I know exactly what I'm doing."
"Then, if not for yourself, think about Oliver. He likes Caleb so much, and he likes me and his grandpa too. Wouldn't it be good to give him a complete family?"
"I don't need you to teach me how to be good to my son," Susan said coldly. "Mrs. Eilish, please leave."
Mia had more to say, but Susan's words left her speechless.
Mia felt a bit resentful. "Then I'll go now, take care."
"The fruit basket," Susan reminded.
"It's for my grandson," Mia picked up her bag.
"Grandma, are you leaving?" Oliver came over with three washed apples.
Mia thought unhappily, 'If I didn't leave, was I supposed to stay and keep putting up with this?'
No one else dared to treat her like this.
But she wouldn't complain in front of Oliver, still smiling kindly. "Yes, Grandma has something to do."
"Oh, okay." Oliver understood.
"Then Grandma, have a big apple."
"Thank you, Oliver." Mia touched Oliver's cute little face, feeling better. Really, adults nowadays were not as sensible as children. If only Susan were half as sensible as Oliver.
"Grandma, I'll see you out." Oliver escorted Mia out of the ward, waving happily. "Goodbye, Grandma."
"Goodbye, Oliver. Grandma will come to see you again," Mia said with a smile.
At the elevator, Mia ran into Caleb coming out.
"Mom, what are you doing here?"
