Chapter 636: You Actually Think of Me This Way
Anthony came to a sudden halt, his face showing a coldness Juniper had never seen before.
"What's up?" Juniper asked, confused.
"Is this fate or some kind of setup?" Anthony questioned.
"A setup? What are you talking about?" Juniper was shocked. "You think I knew you were my blind date and faked everything? You think I planned all this?"
Juniper was stunned, not expecting him to see her this way. "Anthony, is that really what you think of me?"
"It wasn't before."
So now it is?
"Don't you know me at all? How can you think of me like this?" Juniper was frantic.
"It seems we really don't know each other well. I thought you were just a bit headstrong, but I didn't expect you to be so manipulative," Anthony said, his voice dripping with disdain. He had seen plenty of greedy people in the business world, but he didn't expect Juniper to be one of them.
"Manipulative? I have no schemes! I was just suspicious, that's all. This was an accident; I didn't plan anything against you!"
"I didn't expect you to see me this way!" Juniper was hurt. "My dad was a bit over the top just now, but you could have refused him. It's not like you had to..."
Anthony cut her off, "I don't believe in coincidences, but it doesn't matter. We agreed to play a part once, and that's it. From now on, stay out of my life," With that, Anthony walked away.
Juniper couldn't accept it and chased after him, grabbing his arm anxiously. "What do you mean? Are you breaking up with me?"
Anthony shook off her hand and said clearly, "Ms. Cooper, let me make it clear, we were never in a relationship."
"What do you mean? We've been living together for a month."
"That was you staying at my place. Out of decency, I didn't kick you out, but I always asked you to leave."
"Anthony, I really didn't lie. Please believe me, okay? Anthony?" Juniper was desperate. "You can't accuse me because of a coincidence. I didn't deceive you."
"I don't want to hear your explanations anymore. Whether it's true or not doesn't matter. What matters is that we end things here and now. From now on, we don't know each other. Even if we meet on the street, act like you don't know me."
"No, I can't. Let's go home and talk, okay?" Juniper had never felt so panicked, a panic that even overshadowed her anger at being wronged.
"That's my home, not yours. We have nothing to do with each other. If you come to my house to bother me again, I will call the cops. This is not an empty threat; I will definitely do it."
Anthony's expression was serious as he said clearly, "If you don't want things to get ugly, don't look for me again."
With that, Anthony left decisively. For the first time in his life, he felt deeply hurt by someone he trusted.
Juniper's nose tingled with a mix of grievance and anger. How could he wrong her like this? How could he? He never really trusted her.
Damn it, bastard!
Cutting ties wouldn't affect her. What's the big deal? She didn't care about him anyway.
Even though she thought this, she couldn't help but feel wronged, her eyes turning red.
Aaron was in high spirits all the way, happier than if he had won a few hundred million dollars in the lottery, feeling twenty years younger, "That fortune teller was right. My daughter really brings luck, bringing me so many benefits. She is my pride."
Aaron's snobbery was so unbearable that even Elara couldn't stand it. Listening to him praise Juniper all the way, she almost threw up.
Yesterday he was cursing Juniper as an ungrateful daughter, and today she became his pride? All he saw was dollar signs.
Juniper, that bitch, what kind of luck did she have to hook up with Anthony? Why didn't that kind of luck fall on Saffron?
Saffron felt equally uncomfortable. While she was still smug about snatching Douglas, Juniper had given her a hard slap in the face.
The Phillips family could be considered wealthy, but not top-tier. Even if she gave birth to a son, it would only be worth a few billion dollars. But Anthony made the Cooper family earn billions in just half an hour at a dinner. How could she face Juniper at family gatherings in the future? Wouldn't she have to avoid them?
Saffron was so unbalanced that she wanted to punch her own belly.
Aaron instructed Elara, "Check which day this month is good for a wedding, and set it up ASAP."
"You're too impatient. They just started dating," Elara replied.
"Didn't you see how much Anthony dotes on Juniper? Juniper is so beautiful, Anthony is smitten with her. They were meant to be together; it's fate. They will definitely get married."
"I don't think so," Elara said, raining on his parade.
"Stop saying such things. Just check the date. Stop nagging, it's annoying."
"You..."
Elara was furious, 'Now that Juniper is the apple of his eye, he talks to me like this?'
"You're always running your mouth. Juniper is still the best. Luckily, she didn't marry Douglas; otherwise, she wouldn't have met Anthony," Aaron said happily, completely disregarding Saffron's feelings.
Saffron's face turned pale with anger, 'Damn it, Juniper, how dare you make me look so bad.'
"I'm going to take a shower. You hurry up and check the date," Aaron hummed a tune as he went upstairs.
"Mom, why does that bitch Juniper have such good luck? Even when she goes to a bar to find a man, she finds Anthony. Why didn't she find a thug?" Saffron clenched her fists, stomping her feet.
"Don't get angry; it might affect the baby," Elara said.
"So what if I give birth? It's just a small fortune. Dad doesn't care about it at all. He was already biased towards Juniper, and now even more so. Will there be any place for us in this family in the future?"
"I know you're upset, but there's nothing we can do. Juniper just has good luck," Elara was also swallowing her anger.
After being a mistress for so many years, she thought she could finally hold her head high, but now, it was so frustrating!
"Don't worry, Juniper's mother wasn't my match, and you won't be any worse at dealing with Juniper." Elara said.
"But how many years did it take you? I don't want to suffer like you did for so long," Saffron said, unwilling to accept it.
"I didn't want to either, but she lived so long!"
"But we can't just accept it. We need to come up with a plan quickly. We have to find a way to separate Juniper and Anthony, not letting them get close," Saffron said anxiously.
"Shh," Elara made a shushing gesture as Juniper walked in with a frown.
