Chapter 320 Susan, I Want to Marry You.

Caleb! Susan turned around in a panic, only to find her bodyguard and nurse gone, replaced by Caleb, who was applying medication.

"How did you get in?" Susan, wanting to cover herself, accidentally aggravated her wound, her face turning pale. She didn't want him to see her scars.

"Don't move," Caleb said, holding her hand. Seeing her in pain, his heart ached. The bruises on her back seemed to accuse him of not protecting her well enough. He felt guilty and heartbroken.

"You should leave," Susan said.

"I'm just helping you with the medicine. Lie down," Caleb said softly.

Despite her inner turmoil, Susan didn't resist after his reassurance.

"I'm sorry for getting you hurt," she said. She was the one he cared about the most, and the more he tried to protect her, the more powerless he felt. Hurting her was like destroying himself.

"It's chaotic outside, you shouldn't have come," Susan said softly.

"It's because of the chaos that I'm more worried about you," Caleb replied.

"I'm sorry," Caleb said, at a loss for words.

"Caleb, I told you that your presence would only bring trouble to my son and me. Now it's proven to be true. Do you still want to continue? Do you still want to harm us?" Susan couldn't help but accuse him. This storm was caused by him.

"I only wanted your bone marrow, but you brought me disaster," Caleb said. "It will end soon, I promise you. Susan, I want to marry you."

Susan was taken aback. He said he wanted to marry her. It was something she had once longed for. However, Susan was already entangled in too many conflicts, and she no longer had her previous mindset. She only felt a vast expanse ahead, filled with endless darkness and troubles.

Before even stepping onto that path, she was already mentally and physically exhausted, filled with fear. It could even be said that it was a trap. Marrying him was like jumping into a pit of fire.

"I won't marry you. Caleb, I can raise Oliver on my own, and I agree to let you see him occasionally, but marriage is out of the question. I never thought about it, and I never will," Susan said.

"Then let's talk about it. At least after the divorce, I will have a formal qualification to pursue you," Caleb said.

Susan also knew that divorce was inevitable, but she held out little hope. "Caleb, as a woman, I understand Grace's intentions. She's not causing a scene because she wants a divorce, but because she wants you to return to the family."

Love can sometimes make a woman paranoid, hysterical, and ugly, tearing her face apart, all just to win back a man. Susan admitted that she was not that kind of person, because once a man no longer loved her, she would never cling to him. She would rather lick her wounds, as she had done for the past four years. But there are many women like Grace in the world.

She couldn't empathize, but she could understand. "Grace won't divorce you."

"Do you think things can go back to the way they were?" Caleb's mouth twitched.

"As long as you want, she will be willing."

"Do you think I want to?" Caleb retorted. "Her actions have only deepened my disgust for her. I can't live with such a woman. More importantly, I want to be with the woman I love, and no one can stop me."

Susan's throat trembled. The pressure of this relationship and her determination weighed heavily on her. "Whether you two are willing or not is your business as a couple. Don't involve me. I, for one, am not willing," Susan said, eager to make it clear.

"We can talk about that after the divorce," Caleb said. Caleb finished applying the medicine and gently helped her put on her clothes. "Don't take a shower these days to prevent the wound from getting infected."

"I'll take care of myself, you don't have to worry," Susan said, her lips pale with pain. Caleb wanted to kiss her lips, kiss her furrowed brow, and kiss away the sorrow on her face, but he couldn't. Marriage was like a chasm between them, preventing him from crossing over. This only strengthened his determination to divorce as soon as possible.

In his heart, Caleb thought, ‘Susan, I will definitely propose to you with dignity.’

Caleb left the hospital and sat in the car, lighting a cigarette. He smoked until the cigarette burned his fingers and then flicked it away. With a gloomy expression, he brought the phone to his ear. "Do you want to see everything fall apart?" Caleb's voice was colder than the rainy weather.

The woman on the other end laughed strangely, "Didn't I say that a good show is about to begin? How is it? Is it exciting enough?"

Caleb's face turned cold, and he sneered, "A clown who overestimates herself."

"Caleb, do you find it interesting to be so stubborn? You're already in a dilemma." "Do you think those public opinions can affect me?" "Maybe they can't affect you, but they can hurt your beloved. She is now being criticized by everyone, called a slut, and cursed to die. Doesn't that make you feel bad? But that's the fate of being a third party. She deserves it."

"If you want to fight with me, I'll accompany you to the end, but in doing so, you will also push Candy into the center of the storm."

"You didn't consider Candy when you betrayed me, so why should I consider her? Caleb, don't think you can use my family to threaten me. I'm prepared to bury my whole family with me."

"You're too paranoid."

"You're the one who made me this way. Even if it comes to court, I will fight you to the end." The phone call ended with a snap. Caleb narrowed his eyes, a cold light flashing in his long, narrow eyes.

Morning. Susan walked into the ward with breakfast, but her son was nowhere to be seen. "Oliver?" "Oliver?" She became anxious. There were bodyguards at the door, so where could Oliver have gone? Just as she was getting more and more anxious, Oliver bounced in, "Mommy, I brought breakfast!"

"Oliver, where did you go? Mommy thought you were missing and was so worried."

"I'm sorry, Mommy, I just wanted to get some fresh air. I had the bodyguard uncle with me, so it's okay. There was an old lady who got lost, and I even took her to the fifth floor. The old lady was so nice, she smiled and asked me a lot of questions." Oliver said proudly. "Mommy, am I great?"

"Oliver is the best. Let's have breakfast, it's getting cold." Susan felt a faint sense of worry, and her worries were soon confirmed.

The next day. "Susan, someone wants to see you. Please come with us," the bodyguard respectfully invited her to the next room. Caleb wouldn't do this, and Grace wouldn't be so polite. Susan's guess was further confirmed. She took a deep breath, determined not to let anyone take Oliver away. "Susan, please come in," the bodyguard opened the door.
