Chapter 597: Love at First Sight Back Then

Susan's heart skipped a beat.

"Hey, remember we said we'd plan the wedding after dealing with Grace's stuff? It's been over a month now. Shouldn't we get on it?" Caleb asked.

"Yeah, let's do it," Susan replied without missing a beat.

Caleb grinned and took her hand gently, "Susan, marry me."

That whole ordeal just made them tighter, more trusting, and dead set on being each other's rock for life.

A week later.

The weather was perfect.

A cozy little chapel in the 'burbs.

The guests were all their close friends and family.

Every smile in the crowd was like a silent "Congrats."

Caleb, looking sharp in a white tailcoat, stood tall next to the pastor, waiting for his stunning bride.

The wedding march kicked in, all grand and serious, and everyone stood up.

Down the red carpet, Oliver and Candy, the cutest flower kids ever, tossed pink petals everywhere.

Susan, rocking a snow-white veil, walked down the aisle arm in arm with Maurice, step by step toward the altar.

The veil couldn't hide her gorgeous face or that sweet smile, fresh and lovely like a new bloom, shy and delicate.

Caleb's heart almost stopped, his breath caught, and he felt a rush of nerves.

This moment, he'd waited forever for, felt unreal but so thrilling.

Four years of misunderstandings, breakups, pain, and countless trials. Finally, today, she was becoming his bride.

Caleb's eyes got misty. Quietly and reverently, he watched the woman he loved deeply walk step by step to his side.

"Caleb, I'm giving you my daughter. You better treat her right," Maurice said, reluctant but serious.

"Thanks, Dad. I'll cherish Susan like my life," Caleb promised.

"I believe you."

Susan's gloved hand was placed in Caleb's, and he held it, never planning to let go.

Susan smiled softly.

They stood face to face.

"Caleb, do you take Susan to be your wife? To love her, respect her, be faithful to her for life, in good times and bad, in health and sickness, in success and failure, to always support her, protect her, share joys and sorrows, and build a happy family together until death?"

"I do," Caleb said, barely containing his excitement.

"Susan, do you take Caleb to be your husband? To love him, respect him, be faithful to him for life, in good times and bad, in health and sickness, in success and failure, to always support him, protect him, share joys and sorrows, and build a happy family together until death?"

"I do," Susan said.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. The groom may kiss the bride."

Caleb held his breath, gently lifted Susan's veil, and her beautiful face slowly came into view.

So sweet.

"Susan, I love you," he said with a happy smile, leaning in to kiss her.

Susan tilted her head slightly, feeling the sweetness of their lips meeting, 'Caleb, I finally married you.'

The guests were moved to tears, clapping and offering their most heartfelt blessings.

Today, in that sacred chapel, before the pastor, and with everyone's blessings, they made a lifelong commitment, and the sweetness would last forever.

The sweet wedding night.

Caleb carried Susan back to their room.

The wedding was super low-key, just close friends and family, so Caleb only had a couple of drinks. He had a faint whiff of alcohol but was still totally with it.

"Today was crazy busy, you must be wiped out?" Caleb asked, looking at Susan with concern.

"Yeah, starting from five in the morning, it's been a bit exhausting," Susan admitted, but her face was still glowing with happiness. This was their big day, so even if she was tired, the memories would always be sweet.

"Honey."

"Hmm?"

"Honey."

"What's up?"

"Nothing, I just like calling you that. Finally, I can call you my wife," Caleb said, grinning like a kid, "Honey, my dearest honey."

"That's enough."

"Not enough, not even close. I could call you that forever, honey..."

"Shh, are you gonna call me that all night?" Susan asked, amused.

Caleb pinched her chin, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "The one who should be 'calling' all night is you."

Susan's face turned bright red, "Don't even think about it..."

"Tonight is our wedding night, my dear wife."

"I'm four months along," Susan said, her lower abdomen already slightly showing, feeling a bit strange about it.

"The doc said after three months it's safe, and I was out cold for a month, so now it's..."

"Caleb..."

"You should call me hubby."

"Hubby," Susan said, still feeling a bit awkward, but it sounded sweet.

Hubby, hubby... turns out this word sounds so nice.

"Then we should do what couples do, right, honey?" Caleb said, leaning in.

"Caleb..."

"Just kidding," Caleb pinched her nose, "Look at you, scared like a cute little kitten."

"You teased me again."

"If you want me to stop teasing, I can do that too, I'd be more than happy."

Susan immediately backed down, "Forget it, you bad guy. I'm going to change and sleep."

"No way, you can't sleep so early on our wedding night." Caleb wrapped his arms around her slim waist.

"Then what do you want to do?"

"Chat."

This was a good and safe suggestion, Susan accepted it, lying down quietly, "Let's chat then."

"During the time I was out, I kept dreaming about the day we first met, when I went to your school to watch the concert."

"That's when you fell in love with me at first sight." Susan felt a bit proud. Attracting one of the world's top billionaires was always something she felt proud of.

"Didn't you also fall in love with me at first sight?"

"I didn't."

"Still saying you didn't?"

"Alright, I did, but it wasn't when you came backstage to greet me."

Caleb propped his head up, interested, "Then when was it?"

"When I got on stage, I saw you at first glance, that was when I truly fell in love with you at first sight."

"So you had your eye on me before your performance."

She couldn't help it. Although she wasn't into girlish fantasies, some people naturally have an aura, just sitting there, catching one's eye.

"Yeah, at that time I felt a bit strange. My heart was racing, and I even played a wrong note. Luckily it wasn't noticed." Susan stuck out her tongue.
