Chapter 828 What Are You Up To Again
Upon hearing this, Ruben immediately spat out the tea he had just sipped.
With a roar, he asked, "What did you say?"
"I have someone I love, and I want to marry her," Anthony said calmly and firmly.
"Marry? You just caused this mess and now you want to get married?" Ruben's face was filled with rage, looking as if he thought Anthony had lost his mind.
"Is it because of that woman that you ran away from the wedding? Were you with her in New York City too?"
"Yes. But it's not her fault, it's all on me."
"Of course it's all on you, the responsibility is always on the man. You were the one who was fickle and irresponsible. How did I raise you? As a man, you bear heavy responsibilities and must be accountable for your feelings. But what did you do? You were indecisive and hurt a good girl, and now you dare to talk about getting married so soon?"
"Do you want the Eilish family to be completely disgraced and become a laughingstock?" Ruben roared, almost out of breath with anger.
"Honey, don't be mad, have some tea," Brenda quickly advised. "Anthony isn't saying he wants to get married right away; he surely means after the public opinion has settled down."
"That's not the point. The point is that his behavior is fundamentally wrong!"
"I was wrong, and I take full responsibility. But Juniper did nothing wrong. We only got together recently. When Hera and I were preparing for the wedding, Juniper wasn't even in the country. She's innocent and a good girl. I hope you won't have any prejudice against her."
Ruben sneered, "I don't believe you had no contact with her while you were with Hera. A woman who entangles with a man who has a fiancée and then rushes to marry him after he runs away from the wedding can't be a good person. You just can't see her true nature."
"Juniper is a good person, a kind-hearted girl," Brenda chimed in. "She's not a scheming type."
"You've met her too? So you all have this planned out! You're all forcing me to agree!"
"No, honey, it's not what you think. Juniper, she..."
"Stop defending her. That's exactly what it is. She's definitely not a simple girl."
"Dad!"
"What, you're upset because I said something about her? Do you want to argue with me?" Ruben's eyes were blazing with anger. "I'm telling you, she's a bad woman, causing chaos in the Eilish family. I will never allow such a woman to enter our family!"
"You misunderstand Juniper, she..."
"Alright, alright, everyone just calm down," Brenda quickly tried to mediate.
"Anthony, let your dad cool down. Let's step outside," Brenda signaled to him.
Anthony understood her intention. Continuing like this would only worsen his dad's impression of Juniper.
"Dad, you will always be the person I respect and love the most. Going against your wishes and opposing you is never my intention. I hope my feelings and marriage can have your blessing, and they must have your blessing."
"Juniper is not the kind of girl you think she is. We've been through a lot to be together again, and we understand how hard it is to let go of each other. She is the only girl I want to marry and will marry. I hope you can give her a chance to get to know her. I believe once you understand her, you will like her too."
After saying this, Anthony left.
Brenda patted his shoulder to comfort him, "Your dad is not unreasonable. He's just angry right now, so he's taking it out on Juniper. Give him some time, and he will change his view of Juniper."
"Yes, I know," Anthony nodded.
"But given the current situation, I still suggest not rushing to introduce Juniper to your dad. Give him some more time. Your dad can be reasonable, but he can also be stubborn. If you forcefully introduce Juniper to him, he will only reject her more."
"I understand, thanks, Mom."
"We're family, no need to thank me. Besides, I really like that girl. I have confidence in her."
Thinking of Juniper's smile, Anthony's mood instantly brightened.
At the Cooper family villa.
"Honey, why do you look so upset? Did Juniper do something to make you angry again?" Elara deliberately provoked.
"I think she's been abroad for too long and has forgotten all about respecting elders and manners. She spoke to me so harshly, almost hitting me."
"Honey, are you listening to me?"
"What? I was thinking about something..."
"What is it that's making you so worried?"
"It's Juniper. I'm worried she'll get hurt."
"What do you mean?"
"She got back together with Anthony."
"What?" Elara screamed, jumping up. "She hooked up with Mr. Eilish again?"
"Watch your language."
In her mind, she fumed, 'Well, it's true. A woman like her doesn't deserve Anthony. She's just trying to marry into a top-tier family!'
Elara had always hoped Juniper would have a disastrous love life and marry a poor man, so she could feel better.
But Anthony? How many women dream of marrying into such a wealthy family?
'Juniper, what right does she have?'
'Anthony already knew she had a terrible character, so why is he still so stubborn? Does that woman have some kind of magic? Men are all bewitched by her, one after another.'
"How did they get back together? Wasn't she with Brice..."
"I don't know either. I can't understand what she's thinking. She was so hurt by Anthony before," Aaron sighed. "She's repeating the same mistake; she'll get hurt again."
"What does she care? She's so casual about relationships. After breaking up with Anthony, she quickly found someone else. Any man will do for her. But Mr. Eilish is the one who's really wronged," Elara said angrily.
The thought of Juniper marrying into the Eilish family and becoming the glamorous "Mrs. Eilish" made Elara seethe with anger.
She would never allow that to happen, absolutely not, even if it killed her.
"Honey, since you're so worried, don't let them be together."
"But what can I do?"
"You're her dad. You can force her."
Aaron shook his head, "Juniper is so stubborn, you know that. If I oppose them, she'll just get mad at me and it will affect our father-daughter relationship."
Elara cursed Aaron as a coward in her heart.
"You're her dad, are you afraid of her? Marrying into the Eilish family might not be a good thing. I think it would be better to find her an average family and get her married quickly. Once she's married, she'll settle down and stop entangling with Anthony and other random men."
"Don't come up with bad ideas. If I introduce someone to her, she won't even meet them."
"That's why we need a plan. Leave it to me."
"What are you going to do? Don't mess things up," Aaron frowned, knowing Elara wasn't so kind-hearted.
"Don't worry about it. Just cooperate with me."
