Chapter 910 Difficulty in Getting Pregnant

"Yeah, come on, how can you not care at all? Aren't you his favorite godmother?" Kieran pretended to be heartbroken.

"I've got too much going on," Juniper replied absentmindedly.

"No worries, I'll remind you to bring a gift on Friday."

Juniper smiled, "Got it."

"Are you and Mr. Eilish planning to have kids?"

Juniper forced a smile, unsure how to answer the question.

"Nowadays, many people choose not to have kids. But you’re not planning to skip it, right? Don’t do that. You and Mr. Eilish have such great genes; it would be a waste not to have kids."

"Plus, the Eilish family is so big and wealthy, they wouldn't allow not having heirs, right? Not having three or four kids would be embarrassing for a wealthy family. How would you even divide all that inheritance?"

"I know you're a strong woman, but having kids can't be delayed. You should do it early; waiting too long can cause problems."

Juniper pretended to be annoyed, "Why are you so nagging?"

"I'm just concerned about you. If it were someone else, I wouldn't bother. Hurry up and discuss it with Mr. Eilish and have kids soon."

Juniper felt helpless. Trying to conceive for half a year without success was hard to talk about, so she kept it to herself.

When she got home, Anthony saw her tired look and massaged her shoulders, "What's wrong? Was work tough today?"

"It was okay, about the same."

Her body was used to the high-intensity work, but she was mentally exhausted, extremely so.

"How about I find a resort for the weekend, and we take a two-day break? You haven't had a weekend off in weeks."

"We'll see."

"What's wrong? You seem down. I like it when you smile; it's really beautiful."

But Juniper couldn't smile right now.

"I have a way to make you happy." Anthony kissed her lips gently, his hands caressing her body.

He knew every sensitive spot on her body, and soon Juniper felt a tingling sensation all over, shivering.

As she lay down on the bed, letting him kiss her, her mind suddenly cleared as if struck by lightning. She pushed against Anthony's chest.

Anthony stopped, "What's wrong?"

Juniper sat up, "I have something to discuss with you. It might be a bit of a mood killer."

Anthony chuckled, "Anything you say now would be a mood killer." His body was already aroused, and stopping now was frustrating.

"Let's go to the hospital for a check-up," Juniper took a deep breath and mustered the courage to say.

"A check-up?"

"Yes. You feel something's off too, right? With our frequency, it's impossible not to conceive after six months."

"Six months isn't that long. You're just too anxious." Anthony stroked her face, gently comforting her, "Sometimes it's just about timing. Maybe next month you'll conceive."

"But we're so young; there's no reason for this."

"You're too anxious."

"It's not just anxiety. If we do a check-up and everything's fine, we won't have to worry. We should have done a check-up before trying to conceive, but we didn't."

"I don't really want to do such a check-up. I think it's unnecessary, but if you want to, we can."

"Thank you, honey. I know I'm a bit anxious, maybe too stressed from work, but I'm really worried. I'm afraid..."

Anthony cupped her face, interrupting her anxious rambling, "No need to explain, I understand. If you want to do it, let's do it. It's no big deal, right? I believe our bodies are fine; it's just a matter of timing. Sometimes it's up to fate. When the time is right, it will happen. Everything is the best arrangement."

"Okay." Juniper leaned into his arms, her anxious heart calming down with his reassurance.

Maybe she was too anxious. Maybe their bodies were healthy.

He was right; many times it's about fate. Rushing things might not be good.

Their bodies were fine, definitely fine.

But the next day, when they went for the check-up, Juniper couldn't help but feel nervous.

For the next two days, she was in a daze, unable to focus on work.

After all, getting pregnant was a big deal for her.

Anthony's results came out first, showing no issues.

Juniper went to get her results a day later, accompanied by Brenda.

On the way, Brenda noticed Juniper biting her lip and gently patted her hand, "Relax, there won't be any problems."

"Hope so."

However, reality hit Juniper hard.

The doctor said that due to her previous miscarriage, it would be more difficult for her to conceive now.

Juniper's face turned pale, her mind blank, "Dif-difficult... What does that mean? Do I still have a chance?"

"There is a chance, but it's lower than average."

"How much? What are my chances of getting pregnant?"

The doctor hesitated, "I can't give an exact number. I see many women with difficulty conceiving each year. Some succeed after active treatment, but some..."

Juniper held her breath, scared and panicked, afraid she was the latter.

Not conceiving for so long indeed had a reason, and the reason was her!

Brenda held her cold, trembling hand, feeling sad too.

"Don't be too desperate. Modern medicine is advanced. Difficulty conceiving doesn't mean no hope. Start treatment now, get injections, take medication, and don't stress too much. Mental state is important too. Stay positive, and believe that with treatment, you can conceive."

Juniper felt like a hand was choking her, unable to breathe, walking out of the doctor's office in a daze.

She suddenly couldn't breathe, leaning against the wall, gasping for air.

"Are you okay?" Brenda asked worriedly.

"I'm, I'm fine." Juniper forced a smile, but it made Brenda feel worse.

Juniper must be feeling...

As a woman, Brenda understood Juniper's feelings all too well.

She quickly comforted her, "It's okay. The doctor said there's a chance. The most important thing now is to start treatment. The key is your mindset. Stay positive, and the chances will increase significantly."

"Relax, it's no big deal. This is common nowadays. Either accidental pregnancies or it just takes longer. It's normal. You two are still young, no rush. It's not like there's no chance at all. From what the doctor said, there's still a good chance."
