Chapter 834 What Kind of Character!

"He's not an old man, he's mature," Elara retorted. "Young girls nowadays like mature men who know how to take care of people. Didn't you say yourself that Juniper is too capricious and needs someone more mature?"

"He's over fifty!!" Aaron shouted, spitting in his rage. As a father, he was furious that his daughter was being wronged and was very angry with Elara.

Elara remained defiant, "Young guys don't have money. Isn't Juniper into guys with good financial standing?"

"Yeah, so you found me someone whose entire net worth is only five million dollars. Are you insulting me or my dad?" Juniper laughed, but her eyes were cold as blades, full of sarcasm.

Elara changed her tune, "Didn't you say you're not materialistic and don't care about money? Five million dollars is enough for you."

"Five million dollars!" Aaron was livid. "I raised my daughter in luxury, and you think five million dollars is enough for her?"

"It's because you spoiled her too much that she doesn't respect you. How many girls have such good family conditions? Marrying someone with a five million dollar net worth is already pretty good."

"Are you still being stubborn?"

"I'm just telling the truth," Elara insisted.

"If he's so great, why don't you introduce him to your daughter Saffron?" Juniper sneered.

"Saffron doesn't need a man like you do."

"Really? If she doesn't need a man, why does she like to steal other people's boyfriends?"

Every time Juniper brought that up, it made Elara feel deeply ashamed and angry. "Douglas is just a scumbag!"

"What about my ex-boyfriend Brice?"

"He wasn't any good either. Didn't you two break up? Maybe he dumped you."

"Enough!" Aaron shouted at her.

"Honey, why are you yelling at me again? I didn't say anything wrong. When she was in Libertonia, you relied on me to take care of you. Now that she's back, you're yelling at me." Elara looked very aggrieved. Were all those pills she gave him for nothing?

"Besides, you were the one against her being with Anthony, so I came up with an idea. Why are you blaming me now?"

"What kind of bad idea was that? You're deliberately trying to harm Juniper."

"I wasn't harming her. I just thought that man was suitable for Juniper."

"I think he's more suitable for your daughter." Juniper rolled her eyes. "Stop pretending. I know exactly what kind of person you are and what your intentions are. If you don't keep a low profile, I'll kick you out!" Juniper's eyes turned fierce.

Elara was frightened by that look.

Damn it!

"Honey, did you hear that? She's threatening me, not treating me as part of this family."

"Besides, you're the head of this family. What does it say about you when she talks like that? She doesn't respect you at all. She's back for the Cooper family's inheritance. She's ambitious and ungrateful."

"Have you said enough?"

Whenever the two of them clashed, it was endless arguing, giving Aaron a headache.

"Juniper will be in charge of this family in the future. Stop provoking her."

Juniper raised her chin defiantly.

"In charge? What about me? She should call me mom, but she treats me like this. What do you take me for?" Elara looked like she was about to cry.

"Oh my God, why did I marry you? I'm so miserable. I might as well get a divorce."

"Fine, I support your divorce. Leave with nothing!" Juniper clapped her hands immediately.

"You—" Elara stomped her foot in anger. "You think you can just say divorce and it happens? You can't wait for me to divorce your dad, but I won't."

"Or maybe you're just scared. If you and your daughter leave the Cooper family and my dad, you might not even be able to afford food. No, wait, you can still marry Saffron off to that old man from today."

"Juniper!"

"Do you understand your situation now? If you want to stay in the Cooper family, behave yourself, or don't blame me for being rude!"

With that, Juniper went upstairs.

Elara cried, asking Aaron to stand up for her.

"Can't you stop arguing with her?"

"So I should just let her bully me?" Elara wiped her tears, looking very aggrieved but seething with hatred inside.

She had intended to make Juniper unhappy and drive a wedge between her and Aaron, but in the end, she was the one humiliated by Juniper. She couldn't swallow this.

Why couldn't she beat that bitch?

"She didn't bully you. You were the one who wanted to introduce her to an old man. Don't say it was my idea. I told you to find her a young and talented guy, and you found someone almost my age. Is that reasonable? It's no wonder she's mad at you."

He added, "Can't we all just get along? Why do you always have to stir things up?"

Elara wanted to say more, but Aaron immediately stopped her. "Enough, I know you've had a hard time taking care of me recently. If you behave, I won't treat you badly. That's it."

'Juniper, don't get too cocky! The Cooper family's inheritance will be mine sooner or later. You're the one who should get out!'

Elara thought bitterly, his idea of not treating her badly was just giving her a meal, treating her like a beggar? She was not satisfied.

The Eilish Villa.

"Honey, you're back," Brenda said considerately, and Ruben kissed her on the cheek.

They had been married for many years but were still as sweet as when they first got married, maintaining some rituals like Ruben always kissing her first when they met.

"Where is he?"

"Upstairs."

"He still knows to come back? Staying out all night, he must be with that woman. The more I oppose it, the more he wants to be with her, just to piss me off?"

"Maybe he's busy with work," Brenda said, handing him a cup of tea.

"Don't take me for a fool. It's not that I'm biased against that girl. She knows I'm against it but still drags my son to stay out. It's not about being kind-hearted; she just wants to take my son away."

Brenda laughed, "I'm his mother-in-law, and I'm not worried about my daughter-in-law taking my son away. Why are you so concerned?"

"I want him to find a good girl. This one, I don't even know where she came from, all messed up, not a good person. She's not as good as the ones I picked, at least I know their background and character."

"Juniper is a good girl."

"I'm afraid you've been fooled by her appearance. Girls nowadays are good at acting. They look gentle and obedient on the surface, but actually..."

"You know, today at a dinner, I met a bizarre girl who was on a date with a man in his fifties. She asked for a billion dollars and said she wanted sex seven times a night. If the money was enough, she'd marry him immediately."

"Can you believe a girl would say that? I don't know if it's the times changing or what, but I can't accept such a girl. No manners, too casual."

If she were his daughter, he would break her legs!
