Chapter 436 More Attractive Than Money

At a time like this, he had the nerve to say those things. Layla started to wonder if being locked up had messed with his head. He’s nothing like the Brian she used to know. His words now made her feel uncomfortable, even scared.

"Hurry up and leave, stop saying things like that," Layla urged.

"Are you worried about me? Is that it?" Brian pressed.

"Just go."

"I'm here to see you, I'm not in a hurry to leave."

"Brian."

As Layla was about to push Brian out, a chilling murderous intent filled the air.

She shuddered.

Too late.

Samuel stood at the door, clutching the breakfast in his hand, his face dark and dangerous.

Brian calmly followed Layla's gaze and turned around, meeting the eyes of the man who looked like Satan himself. Instead of showing any fear, a strange smile appeared on his lips.

Layla, in a panic, got out of bed. "He just came to see me, he's leaving right away."

"Get out," Samuel restrained his anger.

Layla silently thanked God and quickly urged Brian to escape.

But Brian stood up calmly. "What if I don't leave? Are you going to lock me up again or beat me up?"

"I'll kill you." Samuel wasn't joking as his eyes flashed with a chilling danger.

"Just because I like Layla? Are you going to kill all the men around her so you can have her all to yourself?" Brian looked back at Layla with a meaningful smile. "Don't be fooled by him, this isn't love. A man who talks about killing, are you sure you want to stay with him?"

"Brian, stop it, just go."

"Don't worry about me, I'm not afraid."

He was asking for death, deliberately provoking Samuel to kill him.

The breakfast was smashed to the ground and stomped on.

Samuel strode forward like a charging leopard, grabbing Brian by the collar with both hands.

"Samuel—" Layla screamed in panic, almost jumping out of bed. "Don't hit him."

"He's asking for it!" Samuel's eyes blazed with fury.

"Then kill me, kill me in front of Layla." Brian, slightly shorter than Samuel, was lifted off the ground, but his face showed no fear, only a provocative defiance.

"You like killing so much, kill me." Brian smiled. "But even if you kill me, you'll never have Layla all to yourself. You're just a pathetic tyrant."

Samuel clenched his fists, his knuckles cracking.

"Samuel." Layla was terrified. She couldn't stop Brian, but she didn't want Samuel to hit him. She was extremely worried.

The room was on edge, poised to erupt. Samuel's fists, tightly clenched, threatened to strike Brian at any second.

But Brian's smile grew colder and more provocative, turning him into a cunning, ridiculous clown in Samuel's eyes. His anger subsided. He wouldn't fall for this clown's trick.

Brian wasn't even qualified to challenge him!

Samuel sneered coldly, his smile growing calmer, and he threw Brian to the ground.

Brian's face changed, he actually...

Samuel, like an emperor, looked down at him with disdain, warning him clearly and dangerously, "If you come near the hospital again, I'll break your legs."

Layla let out a sigh of relief. Samuel hadn't hit him after all. This surprised her.

Brian got up from the ground, still unwilling to give up. "Stop pretending, aren't you going to kill me? Come on, kill me."

"You're not worth dirtying my hands."

"Samuel, I'm not afraid of you. Stop pretending to be a good guy in front of Layla. You're just a control freak, an inhuman beast. You don't really love Layla, you just want to possess her. You see her as prey."

Layla wanted to shut Brian's constantly yelling mouth.

"She's my woman, remember that."

"You..." Brian was still unwilling to give up, but James came in and dragged him out.

Brian struggled. "Layla, you'll regret this."

"He's not right for you, I'm your soulmate."

"He's not good enough for you."

"See the truth!"

His shouts grew fainter.

Layla felt relieved. For the first time, she felt such disgust towards Brian. He didn't understand anything; he was too self-righteous.

She looked up and met Samuel's mocking eyes, blushing.

"This is what you call a pure superior-subordinate relationship? Being pestered by a madman, are you happy?"

Layla bit her lip, feeling guilty despite the sarcasm. "I didn't expect he would turn out like this. He wasn't like this before."

"What was he like before? A kindred spirit, a soulmate?"

"Enough." To save face, Layla had to deliberately put on an expression that looked like she was getting angry.

Samuel smiled.

"You won't do anything to him, right?" Layla asked cautiously.

"Throw him into the sea to feed the sharks." Seeing her face tighten, Samuel didn't want to scare her, so he added, "Just throwing him out, not letting him come near you again."

"Good, that's enough, no need to go to extremes. You let him go just now, I... I was surprised." She was also touched.

"A clown, not worth the hassle of teaching a lesson myself. He's clearly baiting me, but I won't take the bait."

"Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with him, he's become unrecognizable."

"He's just showing his true colors." Samuel snorted coldly.

Layla didn't know this either, and she wouldn't be foolish enough to defend Brian at this point. She mumbled softly, "Anyway... thank you for not doing anything to him."

"I don't like hearing you thank me for another man."

"Idiot, the point isn't him, it's you. You surprised me. Actually, these days, I've been reflecting on myself, thinking I haven't done well enough. I've been too naive in this regard, always believing in pure friendship between men and women." Layla scratched her head. "I thought I wasn't money, so not that many people would like me, who knew..."

"The woman I fancy is much more attractive than money." Samuel snorted.

Was that a compliment? Layla felt a bit embarrassed.

"Anyway, I'll remember this time. I'll definitely keep my distance from men in the future, not letting them have any inappropriate thoughts."

"I can teach you a way."

"Hmm?" Layla looked at Samuel seriously. "What way?"
