Chapter 472 Infidelity

Caleb was stunned, his cheek burning from the slap.

He froze.

One moment, she was crying in his arms; the next, she slapped him.

Is this what women are like?

Susan glared at him, her chest heaving. If her hand wasn't bandaged, she would've slapped him again.

"Caleb, did I wrong you in a past life for you to treat me like this? Because of you, I almost got..." Susan was too angry to finish, biting her lip and trembling.

"I'm sorry," Caleb said, heartbroken.

"Is your apology worth anything? If something happened to me, I'd kill you first, not Grace or that guy. I'd tear you apart," Susan said, coughing violently.

"Fine, you can skin me alive; just don't be mad."

"Don't touch me!" Susan slapped his hand away, furious. "I should've never gotten involved in your mess."

Caleb was confused. "Involved? What do you mean?"

Susan hesitated. "Do you know what kind of relationship that guy has with Grace?"

Caleb hadn't thought about it, but Susan's question made him realize. A murderous look flashed in his eyes.

"I saw them in the car... I took pictures, but they caught me, and then..." If she hadn't gotten involved, she wouldn't have almost gotten into trouble. But she couldn't ignore it.

Who knew what she owed Caleb in a past life, almost getting killed several times because of him, yet still meddling in his affairs.

What did his wife's cheating have to do with her?

Susan wanted to think that way, but she couldn't. She still felt some undeserved sympathy for him. For a man, that was the greatest insult.

Caleb's face darkened. He hadn't touched Grace and didn't care who she slept with. But his pride was still challenged. No man could tolerate that.

Susan could feel the temperature drop.

She didn't want to ask but couldn't help herself. "What... do you plan to do?"

His eyes were terrifying. He wouldn't actually kill someone, would he?

"Killing is illegal," Susan weakly reminded him.

Caleb sneered, his gaze icy. "She's not worth killing."

But Grace's fate would be worse than death, Susan thought.

She didn't feel sorry for Grace.

Grace didn't deserve any sympathy.

She only felt sorry for Candy. If something happened to Grace, how would a child cope?

But that wasn't her concern.

"You should leave. I just want to be alone."

Being around him always brought trouble. She couldn't help but feel a headache.

"You need someone to take care of you."

Susan was speechless. "I need someone to take care of me, not someone to make me angry."

"I'm not making you angry."

"I get annoyed just looking at you."

"Then don't get angry."

Susan didn't want to deal with this clueless man, angrily lying down and covering her head with the blanket.

"Aren't you suffocating?"

She didn't respond.

Caleb tugged at the blanket a couple of times.

"Stop bothering me," Susan shouted impatiently.

Caleb was silent. "I'll have the nurse take care of you. I'll come back tonight."

"Don't come back. I don't want to see you."

Caleb didn't want to upset her more and walked to the door.

Susan suddenly asked, "Oliver doesn't know, right?"

"What do you think?"

Susan hesitated. Oliver was sharp; it was hard to hide anything from him.

"I don't want Oliver to worry."

"I'll handle it, don't worry."

Even though she disliked him, Susan felt a bit more at ease. She pouted. "Get lost."

She buried herself under the blanket, ignoring him. After a while, she heard his footsteps fade away and pulled the blanket down.

He must be going to confront Grace.

She was really worried Caleb might lose his temper and kill them.

In the villa room.

"Open the door! Open the door!" Sammy banged on the door, wailing, "Let me out; I'm innocent; I don't know anything."

Grace glared at him. "You're so noisy; shut up."

"That woman won't wake up, will she? If she tells Mr. Eilish about us, then I..." Sammy's legs were shaking. "It's all your fault!"

"My fault? Why don't you blame yourself for being a coward and not acting decisively? If you had moved faster, it would have been done. I haven't even blamed you yet, you useless piece of trash!" Grace scolded.

"You horrible woman." Sammy wasn't afraid of Grace anymore and shouted back.

"You dare to curse at me?" Grace jumped up.

"You've caused me so much trouble; what's wrong with cursing you? If I'm doomed, you won't have it easy either." Since they were both doomed, Sammy didn't care anymore.

When Grace slapped him, Sammy grabbed her hand.

"You dare—"

"If I'm going to hell, I'm taking you with me!" Sammy cursed.

Grace was furious and started fighting with Sammy. But a woman couldn't win against a man; Sammy slapped her to the ground.

Grace tasted blood in her mouth.

At that moment, the door opened.

Caleb walked in like a demon from hell.

"Mr. Eilish... Mr. Eilish, I'm innocent. Please spare me, it was her, she seduced me..." Sammy knelt on the ground, pointing at Grace and wailing.

"Mr. Eilish..." Sammy crawled over to hug Caleb's leg.

Caleb kicked him away.

Several bodyguards came in and dragged Sammy out.

"Mr. Eilish, please spare me, Mr. Eilish..."

"Mr. Eilish—"

Sammy was dragged to the next room and brutally beaten, his screams echoing.

Hearing the screams, Grace was terrified, her face turning pale, but she forced herself to suppress her fear and provocatively said, "Caleb, how does it feel to have a cheating wife?"

Caleb grabbed Grace by the neck and lifted her off the ground.

Grace's vision went black, almost fainting.

"Grace, you must really have a death wish."

Grace struggled to speak. "Now... you know what it feels like to be betrayed? Caleb... you... deserve it..."

"If you have the guts, kill me..."

"Let Candy grow up without a mother..." Grace's voice was faint, her face turning purple, her eyes rolling back, but she kept laughing.

"If you die, she won't remember you." Caleb gritted his teeth. "You're not worthy of being remembered by her."

Grace sneered, "I'm her... mommy... she'll always... remember me..."

"Is Candy my biological daughter?"
