Chapter 329 Apologize Without Evidence

"Who said we're going to be replaced?" The workers were all fierce.
"Take back what you said, or don't blame us for being impolite!"
"That's right!"
"Young lady, don't stir up trouble!" The workers were frightening her.
Fanny, encouraged by someone backing her up, became even more arrogant. "Layla, you've offended me so many times. I'll give you a chance to apologize to me."
"It's you who's wrong. Why should I apologize?"
"Do you want to die? Look at the situation now. If you don't apologize soon, they won't go easy on you." Fanny's eyes were full of fierceness.
"I won't apologize, and the construction team must be replaced, no negotiation."
"You're so ungrateful, aren't you? I'll make you regret it." Fanny angrily moved to personally teach Layla a lesson, reaching for her hair and pulling her clothes.
"You brat!"
"You're asking for it!" Fanny started to scold her.
Fanny's strength was like that of a bull. Considering the unsafe environment with cement nails all around the construction site, Layla didn't dare to push her back forcefully and couldn't break free.
As the two were struggling, a wall suddenly collapsed above Fanny's head.
Layla, quick-witted, pushed Fanny away.
"Bang!" The wall fell between them, leaving Fanny pale with fear.
In the hospital room, the nurse was treating Fanny's injuries. Fanny's shins and arms were badly bruised, and she was crying in pain.
"How is she?" Levi arrived, and Fanny's crying intensified.
"Levi, Layla tried to kill me. You have to stand up for me, Levi. Luckily, I reacted quickly. Only my leg got injured. My face almost got disfigured. No, I could have lost my life."
"Why did you end up in the hospital?" Levi felt a bit sorry seeing Fanny cry so miserably.
Layla, she tried to kill me."
Fanny accused Layla, pointing at her, "She's being unreasonable. We had a few words, and she pushed me. She knew the construction site was a mess and still pushed me. She's deliberately trying to harm me!"

"If I hadn't pushed you, you would have been crushed," Layla said coldly.
She didn’t expect someone like Fanny to know gratitude, but turning the tables on her like this was truly shameless. Saving Fanny was one thing, but whether she deserved to be saved or not was a whole other matter.
“It’s all excuses, you pushed me, and you say it was to save me. You are so shameless. You’ve hit me before, this won’t be the first time. You hit me at the company last time, and today too. You’re just a shrew!”
“Yes, Levi, I can testify. She was the one who started cursing at Fanny using profanities. After Fanny argued with her, she started hitting her. It’s despicable. Not only did she curse at Fanny, but she also cursed at all of us in the construction team. We can all testify.”

"That's right!"

Several workers chimed in, “Levi, why do you keep such a woman around? Fire her quickly, or how can we cooperate in the future?”

"She's too arrogant!"

"She even said she'd replace our construction team." They added one after another.
Several people accused Layla. Levi looked at her and asked, “Layla, what’s going on?”
“I didn’t curse at them, but I did suggest that they take today’s wages and we need to find another construction team.”

"Levi, did you hear that? We've been cooperating for so many years, and now she would like to replace us at her will. This is unreasonable."
“You did not prioritize safety for your construction team and you were cutting corners. Replacing you is us being responsible to our clients, our work, and our company”

“Such nonsense! Who’s cutting corners? We’ve taken on at least ten projects. Were there any issues? Were there any complaints from the clients? There were none. If we were cutting corners as you say, there would have been problems long ago.

Levi remained silent. It was true that so far, there hadn’t been any issues, and Fanny had also praised them.

“Just because there haven't been any problems so far doesn't mean there won't be in the future. I can’t afford to gamble with my client’s safety. As for you cutting corners without being caught, Fanny has been covering for you since you are her relatives.

"You're talking nonsense! Fanny and I are just in a working relationship and not relatives. Do you have any evidence?"

"That's right. You mentioned cutting corners. Show us the evidence!"

"Levi, she's falsely accusing us, we can't let this go."

"We must have justice!" they all exclaimed loudly.

Levi was somewhat troubled. Fanny had found this construction team offering a lower-than-market rate price with high efficiency.
He had been satisfied and didn't want to end the cooperation.

"Layla, is there some misunderstanding here?"

"No misunderstanding. If you don't believe it, you can check." Layla said firmly.

But Fanny immediately retorted with confidence, "She's talking nonsense. I've checked thoroughly every single time, and there’s absolutely no cutting corners. I swear on my life."

"What's the point of swearing? We'll find out once we investigate." Layla couldn't be bothered to argue with them.

Levi hesitated.
Seeing Levi hesitate, the supervisor quickly interjected, "Levi, if you don't trust us, then find someone else. We've been working together for years, and I've always treated you like a brother, giving you the lowest prices. Now, a few words from this young lady make you doubt me. I'm very disappointed. We won't be cooperating in the future!"

"I didn't mean that, supervisor."
"I can see what you meant. If you want to investigate, we'll leave immediately. Find whoever you want and let this lady recommend someone to you." The supervisor said angrily, as if about to walk out.

Levi hurriedly stopped him. "Please don't leave. I never said I don't trust you—this is all just a misunderstanding! Layla, we've been working together for years, and I still trust his character. I know you're looking out for the company. How about this: you apologize to the supervisor, and I'll treat everyone to dinner. Let's put this behind us, okay?"

"They are cutting corners. I didn't falsely accuse them. Why should I apologize?"

"You little brat, do you want to die?" The supervisor glared fiercely,
raising his fist, "Without evidence, watch your mouth. Even if you are a woman, I won't spare you."

"That's right! Give this little brat a lesson."

"Give me a day, and I'll produce the evidence you want."

"You mean you're going to fabricate evidence, right? With your cunning mind, it would be easy to frame us with false evidence. If you're capable, present it immediately. After today, I won't acknowledge it."

Layla frowned, "I'm here right now. How am I supposed to find evidence on the spot? You're just making things difficult for me."

"I won't be falsely accused so easily! Go ahead, show me the evidence. If you can present it, I'll roll out of this room immediately. How about that?" the leader taunted intentionally.

"Yes! We will all roll out. Where's the evidence?"

"I won’t make it hard for you either. If you can't provide evidence, just bow and apologize to Fanny, admitting you were wrong. How does that sound?"
