Chapter 263 Is Oliver My Son?
"Let me carry him." Susan hurried to take Oliver. "I'm used to it."
But Caleb ignored her and walked toward the apartment with big steps.
"Caleb..." Susan looked helpless.
Now he not only knew which flat she lived in but also knew which floor she lived on. What if he came here to find her in the future?
She hadn't planned to let him come up.
He was too domineering.
"Aren't you coming?" Caleb seemed to have eyes on the back of his head.
Susan sighed.
When they entered the door, they received curious glances from the security guards. "Mrs. Susan is back."
"Yes." Susan felt a bit awkward. She had been living here for over a year and had never brought a man back, especially someone as tall and eye-catching as Caleb. She was afraid of being recognized.
After all, he had a wife.
He was carefree, but she felt guilty.
She followed him into the elevator.
The elevator reflected Caleb's tall figure. He lowered his head and looked at Oliver who was sleeping in his arms, with a faint smile on his lips. It was a gentle smile.
Susan found it familiar.
Four years ago, when they were dating, he was very gentle.
But this time they met, he only gave her coldness and sharp ridicule.
She felt like crying.
Why was she suddenly feeling nostalgic for the past?
She shouldn't feel this way.
At this moment, her heart was filled with mixed emotions.
She never thought there would be a day when Caleb would hold Oliver and gaze at him so tenderly.
The more she looked at the father and son, the more they resembled each other, making Susan anxious.
Oliver was her son, and she would never let him know that Caleb was his biological father.
Caleb wasn't qualified.
She also vehemently did not want to be entangled with his family. She would rather raise Oliver by herself than let him share the same father as that girl. It would be unfair to both of them.
The little bit of tenderness that Susan had in her heart disappeared, and her heart hardened once again.
She stopped at the doorway.
"Thank you, Mr. Eilish." Susan reached out to take Oliver back.
"Open the door."
"Just here is fine," she said casually.
She was resisting him again.
Was she planning to use him and then abandon him?
"What? Are you afraid I'll do something to you once I go inside?"
Susan lowered her head and didn't say anything.
It seemed she was really worried about that!
Caleb couldn't help but sneer, "Don't worry. I have standards when it comes to women too.
"Open the door. My hands are tired."
Susan pursed her lips and finally took out the room key and opened the door.
"That one." Susan pointed to the children's room.
Caleb skillfully changed his shoes, as if he were the owner of this place.
"Goodnight, baby." Susan bent down, lowered her head, and gently kissed Oliver's forehead, her voice incredibly tender.
Caleb unexpectedly felt jealous.
What was there to be jealous of? Why did he want this woman's tenderness? He didn't want her tenderness.
Susan closed the door softly.
"Why are these men's slippers here?" Caleb immediately questioned.
Actually, they were just a complimentary gift when buying slippers.
But Susan answered, "Sometimes guys come to the house." She intentionally wanted him to misunderstand.
"What guys? Do they stay over?"
Susan deliberately did not speak.
"It seems like you're quite popular. Guests often come to your house, don't they?" This statement sounded mocking, but he was actually jealous.
"You have a son at home, and yet you often bring men back. Is that appropriate?" His voice deepened at the end.
"Whether it's appropriate or not is none of your concern. Please leave."
"I helped you find your son and drive you home, but you didn't even offer me a glass of water. Susan, you're heartless."
‘I don’t care about how you think,' Susan thought.
"There's a convenience store downstairs."
"I don't have cash."
"You can pay with a card."
"Do you believe I will kill you?"
Susan had no choice but to get him some water. As she came out of the kitchen, she saw Caleb surveying the room, picking up the photo of her and Oliver and looking at it.
Susan immediately grabbed the photo from Caleb and angrily said, "Didn't your mom teach you not to rummage through other people's things?"
Caleb was unfazed. "Why is it only you and Oliver in the photo? What about his dad?"
"That's none of your business."
"Don't you find it strange that there are no pictures of his father in your house?"
"His pictures are in Fagmar, not here."
She lied again.
Caleb laughed. "Susan, I've noticed that you're getting better at lying. Is your man really in Fagmar? Should I check where he is?"
Susan panicked.
"You're not even married, you lied to me!"
"Is Oliver my son?" Caleb questioned.
His gaze was sharp as if he could see through all the lies.
In the next second, Caleb suddenly grabbed her wrist and forcefully pinned her to the corner. Susan struggled in panic. "Let go of me, Caleb..."
She was instantly trapped by his towering body as if imprisoned. This made Susan feel completely frantic.
"Is Oliver my son?"
"No, he's not."
"Then why was he born without a father?"
"I don't need to explain to you…" Susan kept wriggling, unable to think clearly. "Let go of me…" she pushed his chest. "Caleb, stop it.
"You should leave."
He insisted on an answer, otherwise he wouldn't let her go. Under his domineering control, Susan could only answer, "Oliver is Senior's child. I got pregnant by accident. He doesn't know either…"
"Accidental pregnancy? Are you so sure he's the father?
"Weren't you dating several men at the same time back then? Isn't it possible that I could also be Oliver's father?"
Caleb leaned down toward her, his masculine scent growing stronger and overwhelming Susan to the point where she couldn't think. She felt dizzy, her whole face and ears turning red, her heartbeat racing.
"The month we broke up, I had my period. It's impossible for the child to be yours..." she trembled, denying.
"Do you remember it clearly?"
"At that time, I only had one boyfriend, my Senior, so Oliver could only be his child.
"Caleb, Oliver really has nothing to do with you, I swear."
Her eyes flickered in panic but remained clear, and Caleb couldn't find any traces of lies.
He was ridiculous, why was he insisting on asking? If Oliver really was his son, it would only complicate the situation, right?
Although he was born into a prominent family and had heard about illegitimate children before, he didn't accept it. It wouldn't be fair to Candy either.
But Caleb was really unhappy, so unhappy that he reached his boiling point. "If that's not the case, then why did you lie to me?"
"Isn't it simple? I don't want to have any relationship with you."
She was disgusted by him.
