Chapter 843 Gorilla

"Is it really that bad? It's just overtime, right? It's normal. Which company out there doesn't have overtime?"

Juniper's hair was almost dry. She tied it up into a bun with a hair tie, revealing a clean face that was both pure and alluring.

"Girls aren't like men; you don't need to push yourself so hard."

"How am I supposed to take over the Cooper Group if I don't push myself? If I start feeling tired now, what about the future?"

"Dad, don't worry. I'm still young. No matter how tired I get, a good night's sleep will fix it. My sleep quality is great now; I fall asleep as soon as I hit the pillow, even healthier than before."

Aaron had to agree. Juniper was full of energy and in great shape.

He thought to himself, 'After all, she's young. No matter how hard it gets, a good night's sleep solves everything.'

"Yes, I'm proud of you." Aaron patted Juniper on the shoulder.

"Juniper, can I discuss something with you?"

"Go ahead."

"Saffron also wants to join the company."

Juniper rolled her eyes as soon as she heard this. "What can that useless person do? Relying on her looks, she doesn't even have an image now. She has no brains for finance and doesn't even have the strength for cleaning."

"She's your sister; don't talk about her like that."

"Am I wrong? She's spoiled and pampered. Besides spending money, what else can she do?" Juniper said disdainfully.

"And she's not content with that; she wants more. She's greedy and causes trouble, just a troublemaker."

"Douglas' issue is in the past. Don't hold it against Saffron. She's been through a lot and has grown up. She just wants a job at the Cooper Group, not to take your place."

Aaron might believe that, but even if Juniper were brainless, she wouldn't.

"She can find another job. Why does it have to be one she's not suited for?" Juniper retorted. Saffron's intentions were obvious.

"I know there's a deep conflict between you two, but you're sisters. I can't be too biased, right?"

Juniper thought, 'We're not sisters.'

But seeing Aaron's troubled expression, she felt a bit of compassion.

"You want her to join the Cooper Group?"

"You can give her a minor position, just to keep her busy, without too much pressure."

"Of course, she can only do a minor job. Can we trust her with an important position? She'd ruin the company."

"So, you're agreeing?"

Juniper sighed. "You're pleading for her; how can I refuse?"

Juniper felt she had matured. In the past, she would have vehemently opposed. But now, she considered Aaron's feelings and didn't want to disappoint or trouble him.

Aaron sighed in relief and smiled. "Thank you, Juniper. You're the most understanding. Arrange it, and let her start in a couple of days."

"Okay."

Three days later.

Saffron came back from a day of shopping.

The sofa was piled with large and small bags of work clothes.

"Saffron, why did you buy so many clothes?"

"I'm starting work tomorrow, so I need a new batch of professional outfits."

But Saffron didn't buy the typical black and white suits. Instead, she chose various bright and eye-catching colors, all from luxury brands, with a queenly aura.

She wanted to outshine Juniper.

Elara picked up a fuchsia padded-shoulder blazer, visible from 32 feet away.

"Isn't this color too flashy, a bit too bright?"

"What do you know? This is how they dress in fashion dramas."

"You're going to work, not acting in a drama. Those fashionable outfits are mostly for people in the fashion industry. In reality, it's better to be low-key."

Even Elara understood this, but Saffron was determined to outshine Juniper and be the center of attention.

"Why should I be low-key? I want to beat her."

"These really aren't suitable for work. You're just a junior Supervisor with a monthly salary of over ten thousand dollars. You can't afford these; it's too much. Your dad won't be happy."

"Why do you care so much?" Saffron's patience was very thin now, and she was very annoyed with Elara's comments.

"I'm just thinking of you."

"I don't need you to teach me how to dress."

Elara was left speechless.

"The company isn't a circus. If you wear these, don't bother going to work," Juniper said, walking in with her laptop.

Today, she wore a black dress paired with a pearl necklace, understated and elegant, perfectly fitting her role as Deputy General Manager.

In an instant, she outshone the flamboyantly dressed Saffron!

What you wear isn't important; it's the aura that matters.

Comparing the two, Juniper was the competent career woman, while Saffron was a gaudy imitator.

Juniper's hourglass figure made Saffron, with her flabby waist, burn with jealousy.

Juniper was a year older but had a much better figure, tighter and smoother skin, glowing with radiance.

In contrast, Saffron's heavily powdered face was already caking, showing grains.

"Why can't I wear this? I know, you're just afraid I'll outshine you," Saffron said defiantly.

Juniper glanced at her. Saffron was becoming more and more self-destructive.

She used to have some charm and could pull off a youthful, pure look. Now, her taste was getting worse.

"I don't want clients to think our employees are gorillas and laugh at us."

"You're clearly jealous of me," Saffron said bitterly.

Juniper treated it as a joke, looking her up and down disdainfully. "What am I jealous of? Your fat, your brainlessness, or your tacky taste?"

"You—"

"If you wear these to work, I won't even let you in the company door," Juniper said directly.

"Who do you think you are? Dad told me to work at the company."

"Get it straight. Dad discussed it with me first. He only told you after I agreed. If I change my mind, do you think begging or pestering him will help?" Juniper was already acting like the one in charge.

Saffron and Elara felt even more like they were being kept by her, feeling very unhappy and resentful.

"If you want to join the company, you have to listen to me and not cause any trouble. Otherwise, I won't let you off," Juniper warned.

"Who do you think you are? The Cooper family isn't yours to control. The Cooper Group isn't your place to call the shots."

"You're just a Deputy General Manager. What authority do you have? Juniper, don't take yourself too seriously. I'm a Supervisor too."

Juniper had already reached the stairs. She stopped, turned back, and gave her a cold smile.

"It's laughable how little you know. Check the difference in ranks between a Deputy General Manager and a Supervisor yourself."

"Mom, is a Supervisor a small position?" Saffron asked Elara. "Aren't I about the same as her?"
