Chapter 783 Please Pass Quickly...

"Love is about feelings, not a transaction where you weigh if it's worth it. What you like is the best, and if you don't like it, no matter how good it is, it's worthless," Anthony said firmly.

Sure, there might be a million people better than Juniper, just like there were people better than him. But it wasn't about comparison, was it?

He only knew that his heart was firmly occupied by her. He couldn't see anyone else but her, couldn't hold anyone else but her. She was the only one!

"But I don't have feelings for you anymore, do you understand? Your dragging this out is really annoying me. Anthony, I've never been an indecisive person. When I say I don't like you anymore, I mean it. I told you, I want to move forward, so please don't hold me back," Juniper said and then left.

"Juniper..."

"Let go of me."

She opened the door and bumped into Hera, who was standing at the doorway, while Anthony was still holding her hand.

This scene...

Juniper escaped before Hera could start yelling at her.

She ran down the stairs and out of the building in one breath.

Panting and frowning, she looked back.

She didn't know how badly they would argue again, and it was because of her.

Juniper sighed, 'Anthony, you made me feel guilty again.'

Her phone vibrated; it was Brice calling.

Juniper took a deep breath before answering.

"What is your relationship with Anthony?"

Juniper's mind went blank for a moment.

"Why... why are you suddenly asking this?"

"Someone sent me a photo of you and Anthony hugging. Was it today?"

"I..."

The photo, it must have been sent by Hera, right?

"Juniper, I hope you can explain to me what's going on."

"I... I was kidnapped just now, and Anthony saved me. I didn't hug him; I fainted."

"Are you okay?" Brice asked nervously.

"I'm fine, really."

"Then please tell me honestly, what is your relationship with Anthony?"

"We, we used to... I don't know if it counts as dating, but we had some entanglements. We ran into each other again in Harmony City."

"So, you're his ex-girlfriend? I must be a fool for not seeing it at all. Did I trust you too much?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hide it from you. It's just that it's over between us, and I didn't think it was necessary to mention it..."

"He's my boss, and you see each other often. Do you really think it wasn't necessary to tell me, or did you deliberately not want to?"

Juniper was at a loss for words. Indeed, she had intentionally hidden it. "I'm sorry..."

"I really wish you had told me from the beginning, instead of now, making me receive such photos and then apologizing. You know I don't want to hear such apologies."

Juniper felt a bit disoriented. "I'm really upset right now and can't explain it well. I'll tell you in a couple of days when I've calmed down."

Without waiting for his response, she hung up the phone.

When Brice called again, Juniper hung up.

She was so decisive in other matters, but when it came to relationships, she was a coward, always hiding when things got tough.

"Juniper, you're really terrible!" she muttered to herself.

Two days later, the night before Anthony's wedding.

Juniper locked herself in her room.

She tried to distract herself by packing, but it was of little use. Her hands kept moving, but her mind was filled with thoughts about Anthony.

Would he really get married? Would something unexpected happen, like in those dramatic movie scenes?

"Juniper."

"Come in."

Aaron walked in with a plate of sliced apples. "Why didn't you have dinner?"

"Trying to lose weight," Juniper smiled.

"You're already so thin, why lose more weight? Are you trying to make me worry?" Aaron shook his head. "Here, have some fruit."

"Okay." Juniper put down the clothes she was folding.

"Do you still have a week off?"

"Yes."

"Are you going back after that?"

"I have a project over there that I can't leave halfway," Juniper said, taking small bites of the apple.

It was crisp and sweet, but the sweetness didn't reach her heart; her mouth was filled with a bitter taste.

"Okay."

"But I'm worried about you."

"My health has mostly recovered, you don't need to worry," Aaron said with a smile. "As long as you keep me in your thoughts, that's enough. You don't need to be by my side all the time. Knowing that you're becoming better, more independent and strong, makes me really happy."

"But Elara and Saffron... I'm worried they'll keep bothering you about the will."

"That's for sure, but my health is good enough now to handle their nonsense."

"Why don't you come stay with me in Libertonia for a while? Even just for half a month. Dad, think of it as a vacation. It's not like you'll be staying there permanently, just come to keep me company."

Aaron hesitated. "I'll think about it."

"Okay, no rush, we still have a week."

"Are you... okay?"

"I'm fine, why?"

"Tomorrow... Anthony..."

"You mean his wedding, right? Congratulations to him," Juniper said with a smile.

"Have you really moved on?"

"Yes, I have. He's getting married; why would I still think about someone else's husband? Besides, I have a very excellent boyfriend myself."

"If that's really how you feel, then good. I just worry that you're pretending to be happy in front of me, which would make me very sad."

"Dad, I'm an adult now. It's just a breakup, it's not the end of the world. Besides, that was months ago. Sometimes the person involved has moved on, but the onlookers still think it's a big deal. It's really not. I gave up when I found out he was getting married."

"Besides, I'm so beautiful, how could I only like one man? Am I that narrow-minded? Your daughter is very strong!"

"That's right, my daughter is so beautiful and capable. If anyone should be sad, it should be Anthony."

Anthony... he seemed to be more heartbroken than she was.

Juniper had thought he was a carefree person who would move on faster than she did. She didn't expect him to be so affectionate, which made her feel a bit guilty.

"Dad, I need to continue packing."

"Okay. By the way, I'm picking up Saffron from the hospital tomorrow. She's still very weak, so try to be gentle with her."

"I'll try, but they can be pretty nasty with their words. I can't guarantee anything."

"Just do your best."

Juniper stared blankly at the open wardrobe.

Suddenly, she lost the mood to continue packing.

She had always used packing as a way to relieve stress and calm herself down.

It seemed to work for small matters, but not for truly troubling issues, like now.

She really wished tonight and tomorrow would pass quickly. Once everything was settled, she wouldn't be so upset anymore.

Her phone vibrated on the table.

It was Anthony calling.
