Chapter 534 Blind Date
The next day.
6 PM.
HarmonyKeys.
The piano room was filled with May's frustrated yelling. "Are you serious? How many times do I have to show you, and you still mess it up? Did you leave your brain at home? Or do you not have one at all? You have zero musical talent. Stop wasting my time. With your skills, don't even think about learning the piano. You won't be able to compete anyway!"
A five-year-old boy was bawling his eyes out.
"Stop crying!" May snapped. "Dry those tears! Don't go running to your parents, or you won't need to come to class anymore."
The little boy tried hard to hold back his tears. "I understand, Ms. Wilson."
"Ms. Wilson, someone is here to see you," the assistant knocked on the door.
"Got it," May said, feeling a bit annoyed.
She had been in a terrible mood lately, constantly irritable and unable to control her temper. Several students at the music school had been brought to tears by her scolding.
She didn't like herself this way either.
She used to be gentle and graceful, never scolding anyone.
She thought it was all Susan's fault for making her so scary!
On the first floor of the music school stood a well-dressed man in a gray suit, around thirty years old, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, looking gentle and composed, with an elegant demeanor.
The young assistant beside him was lost in girlish fantasies.
May's eyes lit up.
This man looked quite good. He was the refined and gentle type she liked.
"Hello," May smiled.
"Hello, are you Ms. Wilson? I'm Tyler Thompson."
"Tyler?" May was puzzled.
"Didn't Ms. Susan Wilson mention me to you?"
So Tyler was May's blind date.
May knew that Susan, wanting to appear kind, wouldn't introduce her to someone bad, and Caleb's friends couldn't be bad either. But Tyler was still better than she had expected. The key was his outstanding temperament, clearly from a wealthy family.
"It's you. Hello," May blushed slightly.
"Hello, nice to meet you," Tyler shook her hand. "Are you done? If not, we can go later."
"It's fine, my class is over. Let's go." May replied.
"Okay."
The two of them left together.
The young assistant looked envious. 'May's blind date is so handsome! May is also rarely gentle in front of him, not her usual stern and fierce self. Wish this blind date will go well for May, so she will be in a good mood, and I won't get scolded anymore. Otherwise, I would have to quit.'
Tyler quickened his pace and opened the passenger door first.
This showed he was well-mannered and polite.
May softly said, "Thank you."
"Are you cold? Do you want the heater on?" After getting in the car, Tyler asked.
"No need, it's quite warm today."
"Yeah, it's warmer here than in Libertonia," Tyler smiled.
"You were abroad before?"
"Yes, I was born and raised in Libertonia, and only returned last year," Tyler said with a smile. "Should I introduce myself? My name is Tyler Thompson. I'm thirty-two years old, a citizen of Libertonia, and a graduate of the Star University with a degree in finance. My mother is a diplomat, my father is a bank president, and I am currently the Vice President of the Zenitha Region of Nova Bank."
Tyler was a thirty-two-year-old vice president, a top student from Star University, and from a well-off family. The Wilson family was middle-class, but compared to the Thompson family, they were still a bit lacking.
Tyler was the best blind date May had ever encountered. Honestly, she wouldn't have met such a man before. If he was willing to marry, May would definitely be willing.
Compared to Caleb, Tyler and the Thompson family were pretty solid in May's book. Plus, he wasn't Caleb's underling, so she wouldn't feel like she was playing second fiddle to Susan.
"Mr. Thompson, you're really impressive," May said, trying to keep her cool.
"Just call me Tyler."
"Okay..." May blushed a bit. "Then you can call me May."
"Alright," Tyler's smile got even more charming.
May's heart started doing little flips.
Tyler was super chatty and knew a ton about music. By the time they got to the restaurant, May was totally into him.
Restaurant.
"Why isn't May here yet? I wonder if Tyler picked her up," Susan kept checking her watch.
"Relax, he definitely picked her up. My recommendations are always solid," Caleb said confidently.
Even though Susan trusted Caleb's judgment, she couldn't help but tease him, "So sure of yourself? How solid?"
"Not as solid as me, but still pretty solid," Caleb replied.
"Are you solid?" Caleb never missed a chance to hype himself up.
Caleb shot back, "I'm not solid? If I'm not solid, then no guy is. I'm way more solid than your fake friend. By the way, what did you say to him last night?"
"I just told him," Susan took a sip of water.
"I want the details."
Susan sighed and spilled the beans, "Alright, turns out you were right."
"I'm always right."
Susan asked, "Do you still want to hear it?"
"Yeah, spill."
"He confessed to me last night."
Caleb's face went dark.
Susan went on, "He also said he was divorced and had no kids. He thought you were tricking me and really pushed for us to break up."
"I guess he doesn't want to keep his job as a professor," Caleb gritted his teeth.
"Don't do anything crazy. Given your past, it's normal for him to be suspicious. But I already turned him down. I said..."
"What did you say?" Caleb asked.
Susan blushed a bit. "Nothing."
"You said you love me?"
Susan blushed even more. Caleb was too sharp.
She quickly took another sip of water. "I didn't say that."
"You're blushing. That's exactly what you said. Susan, you said you love me!" Caleb's voice got louder with excitement.
"I didn't. Keep it down, don't let others hear."
Caleb shot back, "I want everyone to hear. I want everyone to know that you love me. You, Susan, love me, Caleb!"
"Quiet down, or I'm outta here," Susan said.
'Caleb is so childish and annoying. Don't I have any dignity? I'm easily embarrassed, okay?' Susan thought.
"I'm so happy," Caleb grabbed Susan's hand, and she felt his hands shaking with excitement. "You finally admitted it. You love me, Susan!"
"Keep it down!" Susan reminded. "I didn't say that."
"You did. You love me. When you lie, you blink fast. You can't fool me," Caleb was as excited as a kid.
Susan found him childish but couldn't help finding him a bit cute and touching.
She knew she wasn't making a mistake. Caleb truly loved her; his eyes couldn't lie. Even if everyone else doubted her and thought she was being tricked, she believed wholeheartedly. Only those truly in love could feel it.
They would be happy together, and they had a lovely son.
Susan's heart was almost entirely leaning towards Caleb.
"Susan, I love you," Caleb said.
The whole world seemed to disappear, leaving just the two of them. Caleb couldn't help but lean in and kiss her.
