Chapter 788 Saffron's Conspiracy

"No way, I haven't even grown up yet. How could I be thinking that far ahead?"

"Yeah, you're my baby, my cutest baby," Brice kissed her on the cheek. "I'll spoil you first, then spoil our baby later. No rush."

"Do you put honey on your lips every day?"

But it was sweet without being cloying, and she quite liked it.

Juniper had always been someone who was easily swayed by sweet words, and besides, as long as sweet talk came from the heart, what woman wouldn't like it?

"Taste it," Brice said as he pulled Juniper into his arms and kissed her lips gently.

This time, Juniper seemed more accustomed to his kiss. His lips were soft, and he kissed very tenderly and cautiously.

She closed her eyes and immersed herself, but suddenly Anthony's face flashed in her mind.

Juniper froze. Why did she feel such a strong sense of guilt, as if she were betraying Anthony? She shouldn't feel this way!

Her hand immediately went to push Brice's shoulder, but she held back at that moment. She couldn't let Anthony affect her anymore, absolutely not.

And Brice was a sensitive person; he would definitely notice.

Juniper forced herself to endure.

Saffron stood on the second-floor balcony, watching the two kissing passionately, burning with jealousy.

'Kissing at the front door of the house, Juniper, you're a disgusting slut!'

Saffron harbored a vengeful mindset, thinking she had nothing to lose. She would rather ruin herself than let Juniper have it easy!

Brice stayed at the Cooper family villa for five days.

Aaron grew more and more satisfied with him and had already considered him a son-in-law.

"You're going back to Libertonia the day after tomorrow?" Aaron asked.

"Yes, Dad, why don't you come with us?"

"Yes, Mr. Cooper, come with us," Brice added.

"Maybe next time. The doctor still advises me to rest and not move around too much," Aaron said with a smile. "Anyway, you'll have plenty of opportunities after you get married. This one time won't make a difference."

"Besides, you both took such a long leave; you'll be busy when you get back. I don't want to delay your work. It's enough that you have the thought."

"Dad, have you thought it through?"

"Yes. I was worried about you being alone abroad, but now that Brice is taking care of you, I'm at ease. When are you two getting married?"

Juniper choked on her soup, "It's only been a month, how could it be so soon?"

"Isn't it common to get married quickly nowadays?"

Juniper laughed, "You're usually so conservative, why are you so open-minded now? I can't accept getting married right away."

"Meeting the right person and getting married quickly is normal. Don't you trust my judgment? If I approve of someone, they're definitely right!"

"Thank you, Mr. Cooper," Brice said happily.

"Don't call me Mr. Cooper, just call me Dad."

Juniper gave him a playful look, "Don't rush, take it slow."

"Take it slow, and someone else might snatch such a good boyfriend away. You'll be crying then."

"Mr. Cooper, don't worry, I only love Juniper and will never change."

Elara, who had been jealous for a long time, couldn't help but say sarcastically, "Don't speak too soon, or you'll jinx yourself."

"The more a man makes promises, the more likely he is to change. Then it'll be awkward for him." She rolled her eyes.

"Didn't Douglas say the same thing before? And what happened? He turned out to be a jerk!" Elara scoffed.

Juniper smiled, "I should thank your daughter for taking him away; otherwise, I would have suffered."

"Juniper—"

"Enough, stop arguing. Aren't you embarrassed in front of Brice?"

"Mom, stop it. Juniper has found a good man now; we should be happy for her," Saffron said with a fake smile.

She added, "Brice is the best man I've ever seen. Not only is he handsome and from a good family, but he's also gentle and considerate to Juniper. Most importantly, he's loyal. I believe he can resist temptation."

'That's why I have to use other means,' Saffron thought darkly.

Juniper held Brice's hand, "Exactly. So some people shouldn't overestimate themselves and shamelessly try to get close, only to humiliate themselves."

She had clearly seen how Saffron had been fawning over Brice and trying to please him these days.

Although Saffron was repeatedly rejected and left dejected, her behavior still disgusted and angered Juniper.

Saffron forced a stiff smile.

After dinner, Brice played chess with Aaron.

While Juniper was not around, Saffron brought a glass of juice and squeezed in next to Brice, almost sitting against him.

"Brice, have some juice. I made it especially for you. Unlike Juniper, who is used to being pampered and doesn't know how to cook."

In fact, the juice was made by the maid, and Brice knew it. His smile became even more mocking, "Juniper is a great cook."

"Really? I didn't know she could cook." Saffron smiled awkwardly, inwardly cursing Juniper.

"Brice, drink it quickly."

'Hurry up and drink the potion,' Saffron urged in her mind.

Brice had just brought the glass to his lips when his phone rang, "I'll take this call."

He walked out with the juice.

Saffron quickly followed, hiding behind the door and watching his back nervously, clutching the door.

When Brice turned around, the glass was already empty.

"Brice, did you drink it?"

"Yes."

"Really?"

"Of course. Why are you so nervous?"

"I made it myself, so I wanted you to drink it all," Saffron explained with a forced smile.

"Oh."

Seeing that he didn't seem to suspect anything, Saffron breathed a sigh of relief, her scalp tingling.

Damn it, if he were like Douglas, she wouldn't have needed to use drugs. But the result would be the same.

'Juniper, you think you've found a rich man? I won't let you have your way!' Saffron thought bitterly.

After drinking the juice and finishing a game of chess, Brice went upstairs to find Juniper.

Saffron paced anxiously at the door. 'Damn it, the drug will take effect soon. Don't let Juniper benefit from it!'

"What are you doing pacing in front of Juniper's door?" Aaron asked.

"I, I'm not, Dad. Brice has been in Juniper's room for a long time. Shouldn't we call him out?"

"Why?"

"They're not married yet. It's not appropriate for them to be like this in our house. Didn't you say no premarital pregnancy?"

"That was for you. For them, I hope Juniper gets pregnant soon so they can get married earlier," Aaron said with a smile.

Saffron cursed Aaron's double standards in her heart. It was as if she was a disgrace, always wrong, while Juniper was glorious and his pride.

"Go to bed early and stop worrying about things that don't concern you," Aaron said and left.

As time ticked by and Brice still hadn't come out, Saffron grew increasingly anxious. No, this was her last chance; she couldn't give up!

She took a deep breath and knocked on Juniper's door.
