Chapter 447 Decisive and Ruthless

"Oliver?"

"Oliver, are you in the bathroom?" Susan called out a few times and pushed open the bathroom door, but it was empty.

She hurriedly grabbed a nurse who was coming in. "Have you seen my son?"

"He was just here. How did he suddenly disappear?"

Susan panicked and urgently asked the doctors and nurses to search separately, but they couldn't find him anywhere in the hospital. Checking the surveillance footage, they discovered that Oliver had been taken away by two men wearing baseball caps.

She frantically called Caleb, shouting, "Oliver has been kidnapped."

"Kidnapped? By whom?"

"It must be Grace. Only she would pull a  stunt like this. Oliver is in her hands now. Who knows what she'll do next..." Susan was at her wit's end, pacing the hallway like a trapped beast. "Caleb, if she dares to hurt Oliver, I won't let you off."

"Release my son immediately." Susan had lost all reason, shouting in desperation.

"Don't worry, I'll go find Grace right now."

"I'm coming too."

"You'll only provoke her if you go."

"But my son is still in her hands. That woman is a lunatic; she'll take all her hatred out on Oliver. If anything happens to Oliver, how do you expect me to stay calm?" Susan cried.

"Do you trust me, Susan?"

"I... I don't know... I don't trust anyone right now, not even myself. I couldn't protect Oliver..."

"You've done very well. All the responsibility is on me; it's my fault. But please trust me, I promise Oliver won't be harmed."

In the mansion.

Grace, wearing exquisite makeup and a beautiful fur coat, came down the stairs with the grace of a lazy cat.

"Ma'am, you look so beautiful. Are you going out?" the maid asked curiously. Despite the rumors of divorce and domestic violence spreading everywhere, the lady didn't look like a discarded woman at all. She dressed up meticulously every day and seemed in a better mood than before.

"Mind your own business," Grace glanced at her.

She had indeed dressed up carefully. She had come to terms with it; she was young and beautiful and didn't need to cling to one man. If Caleb didn't want her, other men did.

The fact that her rendezvous with Sammy at the hotel hadn't been discovered gave her more courage. Women are better at "cleaning up traces" in these matters than men. As long as she was careful, she wouldn't be found out.

Thinking of this, Grace felt even more restless; she urgently needed a man.

But before she could leave the living room, Caleb stormed in, grabbed her by the neck, and her voice was cut off.

"Sir, what are you doing?" The maid was frightened by his violence but didn't dare to intervene, standing there anxiously.

"Where's Oliver?" Caleb, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall, held Grace like a helpless chicken.

Grace, suddenly choked, almost couldn't catch her breath. Her eyes crossed, and her heartbeat went erratic.

"Where did you hide Oliver?"

Grace, dizzy, realized what was happening. The child was missing.

Serves them right.

Her face turned red from the choking, and she struggled to breathe, laughing. "Dead."

"Grace," Caleb wanted to tear her apart.

"That child in my hands, what good outcome could there be?" Grace squeezed out the words from her throat. "He deserved to die."

"I'll ask you one more time!" Caleb pinned her against the wall.

Grace's head hit the wall, and she almost blacked out, struggling to breathe.

"Sir, please let go quickly, you're almost choking the mistress to death..." The maid's eyes turned red with urgency. "Sir."

"Speak!"

Grace closed her eyes and squeezed out two words. "Dead."

"Then you'll join him in death." Enraged, Caleb tightened his grip, and Grace's face turned purple, unable to breathe.

"Let go of Mommy." At this moment, Candy rushed out, jumping up but unable to reach Caleb's hand, so she started hitting his leg.

"Bad man, let go of my mommy."

"Ms..."

Caleb's eyes softened.

Hearing Candy call him a bad man over and over, his heart ached, and he loosened his grip a bit.

"Let go of Mommy..." Candy cried, tears streaming down her face. "Let go of Mommy... let go..."

"Daddy, let go... don't kill Mommy, please..." Candy cried, her young voice pleading, holding onto his leg, about to kneel.

Just as Candy's legs were about to slide to the ground, Caleb's expression changed, and he let go to hold Candy.

"Don't kill my mommy..." Candy cried on his shoulder.

Grace clutched her throat, coughing violently, almost coughing up her insides.

"Mommy."

"If you don't tell the truth, you'll never see Candy again." Caleb looked down at Grace mercilessly.

Grace, with tears and snot, said, "You're threatening me with our daughter for that bastard child? Caleb, you'll get your comeuppance."

Caleb didn't want to use such means, but he had no other choice. The only thing that could threaten Grace was their daughter.

"Candy, look closely, this is your father. He wants to strangle me for another woman's child and is using you to threaten me. He's worse than an animal; he doesn't deserve to be your daddy."

"Mommy..." Candy just cried.

Caleb steeled his heart, decisive and ruthless, and was about to leave with Candy.

"Candy..."

"I don't want to go, I want Mommy, I want Mommy!" Candy kicked her legs in his arms. "Put me down, I want Mommy..."

"I hate you! You're not my daddy." Candy bit Caleb's shoulder, but it was too hard, and she couldn't bite through.

"Mommy, save me..."

"Candy..." Grace tried to stop him but fell to the ground. "Caleb, give me back my daughter!"

"Now you know the pain of losing a child? Did you ever think that by kidnapping Oliver, Susan would suffer a thousand times more than you are now?"

"She brought it on herself, being a mistress. She deserves to be hit by a car, drowned in spit, and gang-raped a hundred times."

Caleb wanted to kick her.

"Shut your mouth, or you'll never see your daughter again. Where's Oliver?" Caleb had lost all patience, his eyes cold and fierce.

Grace's mind was in chaos, torn between choices.

As she hesitated, Caleb turned to leave.
