Chapter 366 Don't Want to Get Involved

Jacob was speechless. "This is a hospital. How could I see her here?"

"Who says you can't have an affair in a hospital? Did she come? You went to see her just now. That's why it took you so long to come back, right?" Ava was like a crazy shrew.

"Darling, why do you overthink so much? I'm really innocent. There's nothing between me and her. I swear, I absolutely didn't see her just now. Okay, calm down. Let's not talk about it. I'll feed you, okay?"

"Be obedient." Jacob coaxed earnestly but cursed in his heart, 'Crazy woman, damn fat woman.' If he continued the relationship with Ava, he would be driven crazy sooner or later.

Jacob opened the dinner box and fed Ava spoon by spoon. After each bite, he wiped her mouth and said all kinds of sweet words, calling her dear. Jacob almost did everything to please her.

"Darling, I'm sincere to you. Don't be suspicious all the time, okay? It hurts me when you're like this." Jacob acted helpless, as if wronged.

"Stop pretending to be pitiful. I've caught you several times before."

"Didn't we agree not to bring up the past? I've turned over a new leaf. I love you wholeheartedly now. You're the only one in my heart, really, I swear by the heavens." Jacob had mastered the art of lying without even blushing.

"Jacob Reed, I know you well, and I know what you're after. As you want my money, you better be honest with me, or I can replace you anytime."

"I know." Jacob cursed in his heart. 'Damn fat woman. It's me who will kick you out!'

"Rest well. I won't go anywhere. I'll stay here with you." Jacob urged Ava to close her eyes. Only when she slept could he have a bit of personal space. Jacob was still thinking about the hot model he had just flirted with, eager to continue.

"Rest up."

"Be obedient."

Ava closed her eyes.

Jacob waved his hand over Ava's eyelids. Seeing no response, he hurriedly took out his phone, opened Facebook, and clicked on a beautiful woman's profile picture.

The woman sent Jacob a sexy photo. He clicked on it.

Jacob almost had a nosebleed after seeing it.

Below was a five-second voice message.

Jacob was about to sneak into the restroom to listen.

Suddenly, Ava grabbed Jacob's hand, scaring him to death. "Who are you chatting with?" Ava's eyes stared at him as if interrogating a criminal.

Ava hadn't actually slept. She just wanted to catch Jacob!

Jacob was almost in tears, quickly pulling his hand back. "I'm not chatting with anyone. I'm reading the news."

"Give me the phone."

"Darling, I really wasn't chatting with anyone."

"I told you to give me the phone!" Ava and Jacob struggled. Her strength was terrifying, almost overpowering him.

Jacob couldn't let her see his phone. He would be over if Ava had seen it.

"Don't do this."

"If you're not being shady, why won't you show me? Give me the phone."

With a swift motion, Jacob flung his phone away, causing the screen to shatter into pieces. Hurrying over, he checked it, relieved yet cursing Ava at the same time. This was already the third phone he had smashed.

"Here you are." Jacob handed the broken phone to her.

"The screen is broken. Don't try to fool me," Ava scolded.

"If you hadn't snatched my phone and dropped it, it wouldn't be broken."

"If you're not guilty, why won't you show me?"

"I said I would show you. You snatched it yourself. If you had asked nicely, I would have shown you earlier."

"Jacob Reed!" Ava gritted her teeth and slapped him.

Jacob caught her hand, relieved that he was quick enough. 'Did Ava have a habit of hitting people?' he thought.

"Don't hit me, okay?" Jacob had his pride. He hated being slapped by a woman.

"I support you. Why can't I hit you? I can do anything to you as I want," Ava scolded loudly. "Jacob Reed, I've been too good to you before, so good that you've lost your way, haven't you? Understand this. You're just a dog I'm raising. If you dare mess around with other women using my money, I'll prepare a coffin for each of you!"

In the afternoon, Layla brought her design drawings to the hospital. She knew it was probably a wasted trip today, but Layla wasn't someone who waited for failure. She needed to do her best.

As she approached the door, she heard Ava cursing Jacob with all sorts of vulgar language, unbearable to listen to.

Jacob looked embarrassed, smiling apologetically, but his eyes twitched, showing his hatred toward Ava.

One was after money, the other after desire. Neither of them was a good person, a perfect match!

Layla knocked on the door.

Ava's eyes burst into fiery anger when she saw Layla.

Jacob's eyes showed a hint of guilt. He was now afraid of Layla. He had the intention but lacked the courage to offend her. Although there were many beautiful women in the world, she was not someone he dared to provoke. Jacob didn't want to make trouble for himself. Most importantly, Layla looked down on him. In front of Layla, he felt like a clown, lacking dignity.

"Layla Adkins, how dare you come here again?"

Layla thought it wasn't her fault. Ava deserved the suffering.

"Go ahead. I'll go get lunch."

Ava grabbed Jacob, her eyes sharp. "What? Feeling guilty? Afraid I'll find out about your affair?"

Layla emphasized, "Don't drag me into your relationship."

Layla found it dirty and messy, as it was an insult to her.

"I don't believe your words. I caught you two hugging and kissing, and you're still lying."

"Then you should ask him." Layla stared at Jacob and sneered, "But I doubt you'll get the truth out of him."

Layla deliberately pushed Jacob into the fire pit. Jacob wanted to warn Layla with his eyes, but he was intimidated by her cold gaze.

Layla's young and beautiful face, with her sharp eyes, seemed to see through all lies and pierce through all hypocrisy, making Jacob feel even more guilty.

Jacob felt anxious and restless, wanting to escape.

Layla never lost her temper, but her calm demeanor was more frightening to Jacob than Ava's rage. No woman had ever made Jacob feel this way.

"You both have your reasons. Don't try to deny it!" Ava hated Layla's beauty and her clean aura. 'A hypocritical woman!' she thought.

"The righteous have nothing to fear," Layla replied. She stood straight, like a clean bamboo.

But this only earned a cold laugh from Ava. "Nowadays, these sluts act all high and mighty. Did you come to the hospital this morning to secretly meet him?"
