Chapter 109 They Came Just to Disgust You
Ulysses curled his lips into a cold smile and said, "It's perfect timing that they're here. I was just about to meet them."
Natalie tugged at his sleeve, slightly worried. "Dad, today is an important day for our company. Don't cause any trouble that would make us a laughingstock. It's not worth dragging us down."
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," he answered.
Ulysses straightened his clothes and walked out.
Just then, Kelly and Mia walked in one after the other. "Hello, Mr. Clark."
Ulysses nodded and looked at them lovingly. "Kelly, Mia, you are both good friends of Natalie. I've prepared a lot of jewelry today. You may like it. Pick something you like before you leave."
Kelly and Mia exchanged a glance and bowed together. "Thank you, Mr. Clark!"
Ulysses left, satisfied.
Kelly and Mia gathered around Natalie excited. "Natalie, you don't have to hide your identity anymore. After today, wait and see the chaos outside!"
Natalie smiled slightly, her eyes cold. "That's not the most important thing. I just feel bad for dragging the company down."
Kelly stepped forward and said, "Do you know who we just saw?"
Mia raised an eyebrow and added, "You'd never guess."
Natalie frowned and then asked, "Who?"
"The Kensington family actually brought that bitch Alyssa!" Kelly couldn't help but curse in anger.
Mia asked, "Do you think they know you might be here and came just to disgust you?"
Natalie curled her lips, a cold glint in her eyes. "It really is disgusting."
Mia pursed her lips. "The Kensington family think you want to marry into the Clark family. They come to stir up trouble. Do you know what news I just got from Charlie?"
Without waiting for them to guess, she continued, "Charlie said that Blair has already arranged with the media. As soon as you show up tonight, the online gossip will spread that you failed to marry into a wealthy family and were kicked out of the elite circle."
Natalie sneered. Blair's tactics were so predictable and unoriginal.
She turned her head to Kelly. "Did you deliver my invitation to that person?"
Kelly raised an eyebrow and answered, "Of course, his status is prestigious, and he usually doesn't attend such business events. However, since he and my father are classmates, I asked him, and he agreed to come with his subordinates. I saw he just arrived."
Everything was ready, just waiting for the right moment.
"Who is it?" Mia asked in surprise.
Kelly took her hand mysteriously and then stated, "You'll find out soon enough. I guarantee it'll infuriate the Kensington family."
Mia sighed helplessly and then said, "Alright, I'll just wait for the good show."
With some time left before the event started, Natalie planned to go to the restroom before changing clothes. Just as she was about to leave after washing her hands, she heard a familiar, sharp voice.
"Did you see that bitch Natalie?" It was Wendy's voice.
It wasn't surprising she was here, given her high status.
"No, does she even belong at an event like this? She's like a rat in the street now, hiding away. How could she show up?" Angela said sarcastically.
"Exactly, a woman who can't make it to the top will never make it. She thought messing around with the Clark family would be her golden ticket? Mr. Kensington said the Clark family made the anniversary celebration so grand just to break ties with Natalie and clear up the rumors about her and Victor. Soon, she'll obediently hand over that precious ring." Wendy washed her hands. Her tone was blatantly arrogant.
Angela chuckled, "Mom, you're so smart. You specifically had me bring Alyssa to be Gabriel's date. If Natalie sees her, she'll probably be so angry. She'll piss off. Ha-ha!"
The restroom door was pushed open heavily, and Angela's laughter abruptly stopped.
Natalie walked over nonchalantly, raised an eyebrow, curled her lips into a smile, and spoke in an icy tone, "I'm not pissed off. Are you disappointed?"
