Chapter 8 Apology

That photo was a picture of Alyssa and Gabriel together, intimately sleeping next to each other.
It was initially meant to hurt Natalie, but it had become the weapon she used to protect herself.
[Dear Gabriel,]
[I am deeply sorry to inform you that 'Dream' has been stolen. Therefore, I hired a private detective overnight to investigate. The necklace is in the possession of your sister, Angela Kensington, on the other side of the Arcantic Ocean in Berfiop. Ms. Kensington is gambling a fortune in casinos worldwide.]
[I hope you are promptly informed of the situation.]

The following report contained the investigation results from a well-known and mysterious private detective in the country. It also included a photo of "Dream" taken with Angela in Berfiop.
In an instant, the already highly-discussed rumor attracted even more attention. It was not just about the god-like private detective society online, but also about the vulnerable ex-wife, Natalie. During the daytime when others were resting, her rebuttals were well-founded, without any unnecessary words.
And that photo of Gabriel and Alyssa hinted at the reason behind the end of Gabriel and Natalie's marriage: infidelity.

The attitude of netizens changed instantly. Without saying much, Natalie's innocence and grievance were already determined. And more and more bloggers started to repost. The Kensington Group suddenly became the object of scandal and couldn't be whitewashed.

Gabriel had originally planned to have a drink and relax with his friends. However, he never expected that so many things would happen overnight, with the company's stock price continuously falling.

Early in the morning, Gabriel sat angrily in his office. He was in a bad mood. His assistant, Brad Smith, stood there trembling, not daring to even breathe heavily.

"Who allowed the company's account to post such a message?" Gabriel gritted his teeth, his gaze cold.

"It was Mrs. Kensington's instruction last night. She said she had informed you."

With a loud bang, everything on the desk was swept onto the floor without missing a beat.

Gabriel frowned, his face filled with ferocity. "Since when is this company under Mrs. Kensington's authority? Fire all the people in the public relations department!"

Brad's heart skipped a beat. "Yes."

"Immediately take down the online message!" Gabriel revealed his terrifying anger.

Brad lowered his head and gathered the courage to say, "Mr. Brown from Heggte Entertainment has already announced that this message will be made public online for 24 hours and cannot be retracted by anyone."

That was one of the top entertainment companies in the industry. No one dared to offend them.

Gabriel was furious. He thought, ' Okay, so I underestimated Natalie's abilities! Does she think I'm the puppet master pulling all the strings here?'

Gabriel's face hardened and his eyes turned icy. His phone suddenly rang beside him. When he saw that it was Wendy's call, he hanging up without hesitation.

If he didn't let her call the police, she would cause such a huge scandal directly!

He thought, 'If Natalie hadn't found the whereabouts of "Dream," would she have been falsely accused?'

Thinking of this, Gabriel's face became even more gloomy.

The phone kept ringing. Gabriel looked at the caller ID again and furrowed his brows. "Father."

"Immediately have Natalie delete the online content. Are you not embarrassed enough?" Gabriel's father, Patrick Kensington, commanded in a low, suppressed anger.

"Gabriel, bring that bitch back. How dare she do this. I must teach her a lesson!" Wendy grabbed the phone angrily and said, filled with rage.

Gabriel closed his eyes and said coldly, "Did she do anything wrong? Angela clearly took 'Dream' away. Why would you accuse Natalie?"
He was angry at Natalie's merciless response online, as if there was no way to salvage their relationship.
Even if she didn't respond, would he just stand by and watch her being wronged?
Did she have no trust in him at all?
But what made Gabriel even angrier was that Wendy was casually accusing Natalie, as if it was a normal thing!
When Wendy was questioned, she defensively said, "How would I know it was Angela? Wasn't that necklace always in your safe? Besides her, who else would take it?"
"You can still apologize now!" Gabriel's gaze was deep. The first 6 hours of the public relations crisis were crucial.
"What? Apologize? That bitch should be the one apologizing. She has no money or influence; her background is unknown. She doesn't know how to be grateful. She dared to bring the Kensington family into a crisis! Bring her back. I will teach that bitch a lesson!"
"We're already divorced."
