Chapter 178 You Got Dumped
Layla was still reeling from Yves' outburst, barely able to process what was happening. When she heard Natalie speak, she looked up, dazed and confused.
Everyone's eyes were on her, and the silence was thick with tension. Something felt off.
It finally hit her that something was wrong. But Hannah had assured her about the arranged marriage, even showing her a photo of Mr. Kensington with Hannah's dad. The proof seemed solid!
Desperate, she glanced at Hannah for support. "Hannah," she called out.
But Hannah was looking at Gabriel, showing no intention of helping. She let Natalie grill Layla in front of everyone.
These people weren't like gossip reporters; they didn't need to pry. Their silence alone was enough to make anyone squirm.
Layla bit her lip, scrambling for an excuse. "It must be a misunderstanding between the elders, just a joke. Ms. Clark and Mr. Kensington, don't take it seriously."
Yves couldn't help but laugh coldly.
He mocked her without holding back. "So it was all fake, huh? Nowadays, someone can even pretend to be someone else's fiancée. Scammers really have no shame."
This accusation hit Hannah hard, and her face went pale. As a celebrity, if the media got wind of this, the fallout would be disastrous. She wanted to defend herself, but no one gave her the chance.
Natalie yawned, and Yves immediately took her bag. He put his arm around her shoulder and glanced at the crowd. "Let's go. This isn't our problem."
Natalie nodded and looked at Mia. "Coming with us?"
Mia replied, "Of course."
She grabbed her things and followed them out.
After they left, Hannah still wanted to salvage her image in Gabriel's eyes. She walked over and hesitated before speaking, "Mr. Kensington, I only heard about the arranged marriage from my family. I was planning to wait until things were settled."
Gabriel cut her off coldly, "Don't dwell on something that isn't real."
His words were like a bucket of cold water, extinguishing her hopes completely.
An arranged marriage? That was never going to happen.
Hannah looked defeated as she watched him leave, his focus solely on Natalie.
Layla couldn't help but ask, "Hannah, what are you afraid of? Why does Gabriel care so much about Natalie?"
She was fuming.
The person she admired was actually carrying Natalie's bag? She hated her!
Hearing Layla's words, Hannah clenched her fist. She forced a smile and explained, "I'm not afraid. Actually, I feel the same as Mr. Kensington. I don't want to get married either. I'm at the peak of my career, and many directors want me in their films. But the pressure from my family for the arranged marriage is too much. Now it's good; I don't have to worry about offending Mr. Kensington."
Hannah deliberately raised her voice.
Leo, hearing this, detected the hypocrisy and exaggeration in her words. He chuckled lightly, did nothing, and walked away.
Gabriel caught up just in time to see Natalie getting into Yves' passenger seat, ready to leave. He walked over with a stern face, his eyes coldly sweeping over Yves. "Natalie, I'll take you home."
Natalie frowned and turned her head away. "No need."
She didn't want to say another word.
Gabriel added, "I also want to talk to you about the repair costs."
Natalie propped her head on her hand against the car window, the breeze blowing away her intoxication, feeling cool and comfortable. She lazily lifted her eyes. "Mr. Kensington, how about I buy you a new car?"
That way, he wouldn't have to repair it.
She'd just buy a new one and hope he wouldn't keep bringing it up!
Gabriel stood there, his eyes cold, firmly refusing. "No, I want this car."
Natalie laughed in frustration; she could see he was deliberately making things difficult for her. "Then just name a price."
Gabriel stood there, his eyes dark and deep, like an unfathomable abyss. He didn't speak for a long time. He couldn't say it. Because if he did, he would have no reason to contact her anymore.
Yves impatiently honked the horn and looked at Gabriel. "Mr. Kensington, you got dumped by Natalie, so now you're coming to me?"
Gabriel's eyes were filled with coldness. He remembered the scene at Natalie's house when Yves appeared shirtless. Every time he thought about it, his chest ached. Adding today's behavior, his anger was almost uncontrollable.
He looked at Yves with undisguised coldness. "Yves, mind your own business."
His voice was extremely cold. Otherwise, even if Yves had a high status in the entertainment industry, he would still find a way to ruin him!
Natalie impatiently interrupted, "Mr. Kensington, send me the price later, and I'll transfer the money to you."
She finished speaking and looked at Yves. "Go."
Yves snapped his fingers. "As you wish."
They ignored Gabriel's intimidating presence, stepped on the gas, and disappeared from his sight!
