Chapter 234 He Dared to Kiss Her
Gabriel's face was like a stone, showing zero emotion.
He locked his eyes on her.
"Just so you know, the 'good show' you're waiting for isn't happening."
His voice had a touch of anger, but mostly it was just cold and steady.
He stared at her blankly and pulled his arm back.
His eyes were like a caged animal's.
Slowly, he started unbuttoning his shirt.
Right in front of Natalie, he shrugged off his dirty coat.
He tossed it onto a nearby chair without even looking.
There was a wild edge to his careless moves.
With one hand, he yanked off his tie and threw it on top of the coat.
The top button of his shirt was undone, showing off his sexy Adam's apple, giving him a slightly messy but hot look.
He had this mix of wildness and coolness about him.
The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife.
Natalie was stunned for a second before she looked away.
Trying to calm her racing heart, she slowly said, "Mr. Kensington, you're overthinking. I never bother with things that have nothing to do with me."
She didn't give a damn if Gabriel and Mary had any "good show" or not!
What did it matter to her?
Gabriel's actions were just plain confusing.
"Nothing to do with you?" His voice dropped, sounding almost weak.
Maybe she misheard.
"Of course." She finished talking, clicked her high heels, and started to leave.
Just as she turned, he grabbed her arm.
This back-and-forth was seriously confusing.
Was this supposed to be fun?
What did Gabriel even want?
Natalie frowned, ready to ask him straight.
But he pushed her against the wall again, pressing his whole body against hers.
Without a second thought, he cupped her face with both hands, his lips crashing onto hers with a hint of madness and loss of control.
It was as sweet and intoxicating as he had imagined.
Natalie hadn't even processed what was happening.
The scent of his cologne mixed with a faint smell of alcohol, both strange and familiar, something she had been hooked on for a long time.
But when his lips tried to go deeper, she snapped awake.
She bit down hard on his lips, and when Gabriel paused, she slapped his handsome face.
The slap was loud and clear.
Gabriel's eyes stayed on her.
Natalie shoved him away angrily. "Mr. Kensington, get this straight. I'm not some woman you can win over with some gifts. If you want to play games, there are plenty of others out there!"
Gabriel's heart sank, his voice rough and cold. "But the one I want is you."
Thinking of Charlie's proposal made him furious.
He didn't know when it started, but she had rooted herself in his heart, impossible to ignore.
Natalie's eyes widened.
It felt like a wound on her chest was being ripped open again.
It hurt, bleeding all over.
"Gabriel, we're already divorced. Just like you wanted, I'm out of your life. We have no relationship now, and we never will again. I don't have any feelings for you anymore. Stay as far away from my life as possible."
Why?
When her heart was empty, he just barged in and saw all those scars inside her.
What was his deal?
Was he mocking her?
A kiss made her heart race.
Unwanted affection was just gross!
She didn't hesitate, not wanting to look at him any longer.
Afraid he'd see her despair and despise her.
She opened the door and left with smooth, graceful movements, leaving everything behind.
"Happy birthday, Natalie."
Gabriel's voice was calm, the slap mark on his face clear, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
He didn't even notice.
But he felt a deep sorrow in his heart.
At that moment, it felt like he had truly lost the most important thing.
