Chapter 210 Kicking You Out

Natalie was caught off guard by what she heard. This was the second time she'd been warned like this.

The first time was from Wendy, right before the wedding. Now, it was coming from Charlie's mom.

She looked back at Aaliyah, who seemed calm and collected. The warmth and familiarity from before felt like a sham.

Natalie felt a chill; she had always respected Aaliyah.

She forced a smile. "Aunt Aaliyah, is this a warning?"

Aaliyah replied, "Think of it however you want. Charlie struggled to take over the company, but because you spent ten billion dollars on that land, he got beaten up and almost kicked off the board. Did you know that?"

Natalie was stunned; she thought she'd stepped in just in time. But Charlie still faced so many problems.

Aaliyah continued, "If you two had been together from the start, I wouldn't have opposed it. But now you're divorced, surrounded by scandals. So many people are after you, and Charlie is the least suitable, isn't he?"

Natalie laughed in frustration. Aaliyah might as well have just told her she wasn't good enough for Charlie.

She glanced at the kitchen where Lillian was and at Charlie, standing far away, looking impatient.

Her eyes narrowed and she was starting to get it. "Seems like the Walker family has picked a bride for Mr. Walker? So you're clearing the way for this marriage?"

Aaliyah didn't deny it. "Ms. Garcia is talented, gentle, presentable, and a great cook. Plus, she has a clean and inspiring background. There's no better choice for a daughter-in-law!"

Natalie smirked, her face full of disdain.

She looked down at Aaliyah, who sat there elegantly but with a hypocritical expression. "We're definitely not a match. After all, intelligence is hereditary."

Aaliyah was taken aback, clearly angry. "Natalie, that's so rude!"

Natalie kept her smile, her eyes sharp. "Aunt Aaliyah, let me be clear. I've never flirted with Charlie; we've always been just friends. As for being together, it never crossed my mind. Please tell him to forget about it. We've been friends for years, and I don't want to hurt him."

Experience had taught her that a sensible elder meant a happy family. The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship was the hardest to manage.

She'd had enough trouble with the Kensington family and wasn't about to go through that again.

Besides, they could only be friends. From the moment Charlie started liking her, Natalie had kept her distance. She had a clear conscience about that.

Natalie was already in a bad mood and didn't want to waste more words. She grabbed her things and the painting. "I'm leaving, no need to see me off."

She didn't care about Aaliyah's reaction; it didn't matter.

Outside, she got into her car and started the engine.

Charlie rushed out. "Natalie, why are you leaving? Let me drive you back; it's dangerous to drive alone."

Natalie ignored him, hit the gas, and drove off.

At the Clark Group, Natalie, still fuming, headed straight to her office.

Before she got there, Aaron hurried over. "Ms. Clark, Mr. Kensington is here to see you..."

Natalie didn't hesitate. "Tell him I'm not here!"

Aaron opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, Gabriel appeared, his voice calm. "Not here?"

Natalie paused, surprised, and turned to look.

Aaron, looking uncomfortable, explained, "Mr. Kensington said he'd wait at your office door."

So, he hadn't gone to the reception room.

If she'd let Aaron finish, it wouldn't have been so awkward.

Natalie didn't feel guilty, just annoyed. "Mr. Kensington, please come in."
