Chapter 60 She's Going Back
After Natalie finished speaking, she returned to the private room and called for Charlie to leave.
Before they could get into the car, Natalie suddenly realized that she had left her bag in the room.
She wanted to go back and get it, but Charlie stopped her. "I'll go get it for you. Wait for me in the car."
After Charlie left, Natalie thought for a moment and decided to follow him. However, she didn't expect to run into Gabriel and Leo on their way out.
To avoid any further trouble, Natalie didn't catch up with them and instead waited on the other side of the fountain at the entrance.
Leo clicked his tongue. "I heard Alyssa is going back to her home country?"
Gabriel responded indifferently.
Leo smiled. "It's been so long since I've seen her, I kind of miss her. Even though what she did was wrong, your punishment was too harsh. We're all friends, so forgive her..."
As they walked and talked, the two got into their car and drove away...
The afternoon weather was gloomy, with a chill in the air.
Natalie averted her gaze and stared blankly ahead, feeling a pain in her chest.
Alyssa was their friend, and no matter how hard Natalie tried, she was still an outsider to Gabriel.
The memories flooded back like a tide, and Alyssa's name tormented Natalie for three years like a curse. She thought she had moved on, but she hadn't realized that hearing that name again would still leave her feeling suffocated.
She thought to herself, "I really am a failure!"
I knew that after the party, Alyssa went abroad. Since Alyssa disappeared, I didn't want to pursue it either.
Is it a punishment for them to send Alyssa abroad?
And is her return only for Gabriel's forgiveness?
Natalie suddenly found it ridiculous, what did her three years of effort mean?
Others can forgive Alyssa, but Natalie cannot.
Isn't Alyssa supposed to come back?
Natalie welcomes her with open arms, and she will also prepare a big gift for Alyssa.
Charlie came over with her bag. Seeing her pale face, he asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Hearing his words, Natalie snapped back to reality and smiled, "No. I'm going back, the driver is already here."
"I can take you." Charlie pushed Natalie into the car without waiting for her response, and he sat beside her.
Natalie nodded, smiled, and didn't mind.
Charlie seemed like he wanted to say something, he looked at Natalie affectionately, but he held back.
When they reached the ground floor, Natalie asked the driver to take Charlie back, while she went straight upstairs.
Less than ten minutes later, the doorbell rang, so Natalie had to go and answer the door.
After Natalie opened the door, a bouquet of red roses appeared in front of her eyes. Looking at Charlie's handsome face behind them, Natalie helplessly said, "Mr. Walker, I'm really tired today."
It was obvious that she wanted Charlie to leave.
Charlie raised an eyebrow. "I know. These flowers are not for my future girlfriend, they're for Natalie, who is unhappy today."
Natalie paused and looked up at Charlie, who seemed a bit serious. "Since I'm already here, shouldn't you invite me in?"
She still believed in Charlie's character, so she stepped aside, and Charlie walked in.
"Natalie, you only lost Gabriel. There are many other men around you, so don't be unhappy because of him, he doesn't deserve it."
Natalie thought, 'Yes, in the eyes of others, Gabriel doesn't deserve it.
But in Gabriel's eyes, I don't deserve it.'
Natalie poured a glass of water for Charlie and lazily leaned on the sofa. "You figured it out already? I'm a failure, right?"
Because Alyssa was coming back, she easily became angry, and those supposed indifference suddenly didn't feel so straightforward.
"Indeed." Charlie smiled, his eyes especially charming.
"Get lost!" Natalie scoffed lightly, feeling inexplicably better.
Charlie chuckled and suddenly stood up, walking towards her. He hugged her tightly without giving her a chance to struggle, but then suddenly let go.
He smiled earnestly, leaning forward and lowering his head to look at her. "But he had no right to make you angry. Natalie, you are my queen."
Charlie's sudden proximity caught Natalie off guard. The subtle scent of cologne wafted towards her, causing her heart to suddenly race.
