Chapter 473 Hypocritical People

Natalie kept a smug smile as she nodded to others, raising an eyebrow at him. "Mr. Walker, your business expansion seems pretty sudden, doesn't it?"

Charlie leaned in quietly, "Just got lucky, didn't expect to run into you guys. Thanks to you!"

Otherwise, he'd have to pay out of his pocket for the big talk he had made.

The two took their seats, and the signing ceremony was simple yet solemn, with no unnecessary delays.

But this time, the spotlight was on Charlie. He had organized and arranged everything, so naturally, everyone's attention was on him.

Natalie sat beside him, as always, drawing attention.

The two were surrounded, chatting and laughing, the atmosphere relaxed and harmonious.

They were surrounded by businesspeople eager to curry favor, unlike the other two.

Gabriel and Robert watched from the other side, restrained and calm, suddenly feeling like they were doing all the work for someone else's benefit.

The cocktail party reached its midpoint.

Natalie saw Gabriel limping over and frowned, taking a few steps forward.

"Mr. Kensington, if you're not feeling well, you could have sent someone in your place."

Gabriel's expression softened a bit.

"I wanted to ask you, when are you coming back to Serenity Estates?"

She had promised to stay until he recovered.

Natalie paused, a slight smile playing on her lips.

"Is it suitable now? Isn't Ms. Vasquez here for you? If she knew I was staying at Serenity Estates, the whole Kensington family would probably come after me!"

Gabriel's eyes darkened slightly, his face turning a bit grim at the mention of Briar.

Everyone knew what the Kensington family was up to. How could someone as smart as Natalie not see through it?

"No one else has any say in my decisions, no matter what they say."

Gabriel's tone was slightly stiff, but his gaze was resolute.

Natalie looked down and smiled nonchalantly.

"Let's not. The Clark family and the Kensington family have just started to mend their relationship. If we keep pushing each other's boundaries, it might be hard to repair. We should focus on our mutual interests, don't you think, Mr. Kensington?"

They were businesspeople, after all, and profit came first.

Gabriel's breath hitched slightly, a hint of helplessness in his eyes.

He wanted to talk about feelings, but she only wanted to talk about money.

"I'll resolve this as soon as possible."

The longer it dragged on, the more conspicuous it became.

Natalie smiled but said nothing.

Charlie walked over, holding a glass of wine, eyeing Gabriel.

"Mr. Kensington, thank you. But I'm curious, what prompted you to lend a helping hand?"

Gabriel wasn't the type to do charity without a reason.

Gabriel's voice was cold, "If not for Natalie, then for you?"

Charlie raised an eyebrow. The answer was expected.

He quickly spotted Robert on the other side, composed and courteous, and greeted him.

"Mr. Williams, it's an honor. Thank you for your timely help. But I'm curious, what prompted you to lend a helping hand?"

Natalie shot Charlie a warning look, telling him not to stir things up!

Charlie ignored her warning completely.

Gabriel's gaze swept over the two of them, finally landing on Robert.

Robert smiled faintly, and after a few seconds, he spoke.

"Isn't it normal to do what we can for those in need? People in remote areas need our help. As a businessman, it's our responsibility and duty to contribute to public welfare. Mr. Walker, the more of these opportunities, the better. I'm always ready."

Charlie was stunned, speechless.

Natalie also stiffened, her eyes showing admiration.

Gabriel turned his head away, helpless. Hypocrite!
