Chapter 430 You Look the Worst

Back then, everyone thought she was going to marry Vincent, so they showered her with all kinds of flattery.

But Vincent married someone else, and she suddenly realized she was out of that circle.

No more help, no more favors.

Natalie looked at her with a cold gaze.

She wondered how Donna had even gotten here; it was quite a distance from the shore!

Without an invitation, she was stopped by the security guards.

Natalie stood there, not planning to let her in.

"Help you? Why should I?"

Donna stood there, looking fragile and weak.

"Ms. Clark, we may not know each other well, but my life has been ruined because of you. Don't you feel any guilt at all?"

Her words were accusatory and resentful, but she played the part of the pitiful victim well, though her tone was forceful.

She blamed everything on Natalie.

If it weren't for Natalie and Rex suddenly entering that room, she would have married Vincent by now.

Falling from such heights, how could she be content?

She had tried to find Rex afterward, but she hadn't even seen him.

She was truly unwilling to accept this; she had been so close to the top!

Natalie listened to her, somewhat taken aback by Donna's audacity and twisted logic.

What did she have to feel guilty about?

Natalie said, "Have you ever seen a cop feel bad for arresting a criminal because they have to face the consequences?"

Donna's face turned very unpleasant.

"Your words are too harsh." She spoke with resentment.

Natalie replied, "What you did was too ugly."

"You've always been at the top of the pyramid. How could you understand how hard it was for me to get here?"

Donna's expression was sorrowful, her eyes red with tears.

"Why should I care how hard it was for you?"

Natalie's voice was very calm. Her misfortune wasn't Natalie's doing, so why come here to complain?

It was just too ridiculous!

Donna was stunned.

Natalie wasn't playing by the script, so how was she supposed to continue her act?

Natalie spoke slowly and deliberately, "Ms. Nelson, you messed things up yourself. You should have expected to be exposed one day. It's not like you were falsely accused. What are you feeling wronged about?"

Donna's lips trembled, her face pale.

"But I was so close. I just wanted to have a good life with Vincent."

Natalie was impatient.

If she wanted a good life, why did she need to see her?

"I don't have time for your nonsense. Just say what you want."

Donna bit her lower lip, looking at her with grievance.

"Are you really with Rex?"

As soon as she asked, Natalie laughed.

What a schemer!

Just a moment ago, she was lamenting her relationship with Vincent, and now she wanted to latch onto Rex?

If Rex were that penniless adventurer, would she be doing this?

No way!

Natalie didn't answer, just smiled slightly, looking at her with eyes that seemed to burn through her, stripping away her facade.

Donna sneered, "Rex and I have a history. He worked to earn money for me, his bank card's password was my birthday, and he proposed to me six times, which I never accepted. Has he done any of that for you?"

Donna's tone carried a hint of pride and smugness.

Any declaration from an ex-girlfriend is a challenge to the current one.

Especially for someone like Natalie, who was used to being pampered and adored, how could she tolerate even the slightest grievance?

Natalie saw through Donna's change in attitude and the barbs in her words immediately.

She was trying to irritate Natalie, to make her back off.

If she were really with Rex, she might have been driven to the edge by Donna's words.

But she wasn't.

Natalie's eyes were deep and cold as she stared at Donna.
