Chapter 31 A Bit of a Germaphobe
Natalie was speechless. "Kelly, who's bored enough to do this?"
"Of course, it's Charlie. He specifically asked me to personally deliver them to you."
He really knows how to stir things up!
Kelly smiled. "Henry was sent abroad by his family, Mr. Quinn, to study overnight. I heard that if he doesn't pass the exams this time, Mr. Quinn will break his legs."
"It's a shame I couldn't go send him off. We'll have a lively welcome ceremony when he returns."
Natalie reluctantly had someone take the flowers away. After the overpowering floral scent in the air dissipated, she felt much more comfortable.
Kelly nodded and said, "I think so too. By the way, I've investigated the Fenden Group you asked me to. I found out everything."
Natalie looked up at her. Kelly smiled and said, "The Fenden Group has long become an empty shell company. They are borrowing money everywhere. Because the company owes the bank a large sum of money and can't repay it, the company is about to be auctioned off. Now the Fenden Group only has a bunch of unfinished projects left. Anyone who gets involved with this company will get into trouble."
Natalie raised an eyebrow. This was within her expectations. Jessica set a trap for Natalie.
So the dinner tonight was going to be especially interesting.
"Thanks."
Kelly touched her head and said, "You're welcome. But I can't accompany you to work anymore. My mom is coming back from Cladeland. She recently acquired a cosmetic company. She promised to let me participate in the research and development. You know, it's my dream."
Kelly's mom is a well-known powerhouse in the industry. She has always wanted Kelly to be involved in company management, but Kelly prefers laboratory research and development. This time, Kelly has the opportunity to participate, so of course she won't give up.
Natalie smiled and said, "Alright, then I wish you all the best!"
The two exchanged a smile and didn't say much because they understood each other very well!
"You take care. If you need any help, just ask. We will firmly support you!"
Natalie nodded, "Don't worry, I won't be polite with you."
After chatting for a while, Kelly took her bag and left. Natalie immersed herself in her work again.
Until it was time to leave work, Natalie stood up on her high heels. She planned to tell Aaron about the dinner. Jessica came in, saying, "Since it's a private dinner, shouldn't you leave your assistant secretary behind?"
Natalie raised an eyebrow, "Okay."
Aaron looked worriedly at Natalie. But Natalie smiled reassuringly at him.
They arrived at the private club and after going to the reserved private room, Jessica came over to the fat, greasy man sitting there and gave him an affectionate peck on the cheek. Natalie felt disgusted.
Out of courtesy, she still walked over to greet him. When Zach saw Natalie's face, his expression clearly showed some surprise. He did not hide his greed on his face. His expression was nauseating.
"This must be Ms. Clark, right? I've heard about you for a long time, and you're just as beautiful as the legends say..."
Zach reached out his hand, and Natalie nodded slightly in greeting. Then she sat down, "Mr. Green, thank you for your compliments. However, you are the one who is famous."
Jessica gave Natalie a meaningful look. "Ms. Clark, since you just joined Clark Group, you may not be aware that we have a longstanding relationship with Fenden Group. We won't have any issues with cooperation. Why don't you show Mr. Green the contract? If everyone is satisfied, we can sign it today."
Natalie paused and raised an eyebrow before taking out the prepared contract. "Alright. Mr. Green, you better read the contract carefully."
The greasy man on the other side took the contract. He glanced through it casually, as if he already knew its contents. However, his expression changed slightly when he saw the numbers. Instantly, his face turned grim.
"Ms. Clark, why is the commission here thirty percent higher than what we agreed on?"
Jessica was taken aback. She took the contract and soon her face turned pale. "Who made these changes?"
"It was me..." Natalie replied, lowering her head with a smile.
"Since I am in charge of negotiating this project, the commission is naturally up to me. We'll go with this clause, otherwise there's no need to continue discussing."
Everyone knew that if the commission was raised by thirty percent, Fenden Group would have to invest millions more in the early stages. Fenden Group was already a bankrupt shell of a company and couldn't afford the extra money.
Jessica's face turned livid with anger. "Natalie, who gave you the right to make these changes?"
"Just because I am the company's vice-president. Ms. Cole, I am fighting for the company's best interests. Why are you getting angry? You should be happy. Are you an employee of Clark Group or Fenden Group?" Natalie looked at her with a hint of suspicion.
Jessica's face changed upon hearing this. "I... I am, of course, an employee of Clark Group. But Natalie, integrity is important in business. The agreed-upon amount should not change."
"As long as both parties haven't signed a contract, everything can change." Natalie looked at Zach with a mocking expression. "Or perhaps, Mr. Green and Ms. Cole reached some private agreement?"
