Chapter 243 She Hit You
The vibe around them turned icy, like someone cranked up the AC to max. It was dead silent.
Gabriel's usually cold eyes had a flicker of surprise as he glanced at her.
Natalie met his gaze, totally unfazed.
Their eyes locked, and he could see the distrust in hers.
It felt like someone had just stabbed him in the heart.
"You think I told Lillian to do this?"
He narrowed his eyes, his stare sharp as a knife.
Natalie stayed silent, curling her lips into a cold smile.
Her silence said it all.
Leo, standing nearby, couldn't help but shiver.
The air was thick with an intense, inexplicable coldness.
"Why else would you be the one to show up?"
As Natalie finished speaking, the chill in the air got even worse.
Leo quickly stepped forward to explain.
"You got it wrong. This has nothing to do with Gabriel. When we were about to leave, Gabriel had something to say to you but couldn't find you. The doorman pointed us this way, so we hurried over."
He shot Brad a look, and Brad immediately nodded.
"Yeah, Ms. Clark, that's exactly what happened."
Natalie lowered her eyes a bit, like she was weighing their words.
Leo hastily added, "You were married once. How could Gabriel harm you? When he heard a commotion here, he was worried you were in danger and rushed over to save you. How could you think he had bad intentions?"
He didn't realize his tone had a hint of resentment and complaint.
He was mad on Gabriel's behalf!
Natalie looked at Gabriel with a meaningful gaze.
She let out a light, cold laugh.
"So, I should thank you?"
She had almost handled the trouble herself; then he showed up?
Did Leo think a few sweet words would make Natalie believe him?
Did he think she was a fool?
If Natalie hadn't stepped in on that project, would Gabriel have been willing to share such a big piece of the pie with Lillian?
Who would believe they had no relationship?
Gabriel's face visibly darkened.
Leo didn't know what he had said wrong. He had clearly explained everything, so why hadn't the tension between the two eased at all?
Lillian, standing nearby with a mocking attitude, sneered.
"Seems Mr. Kensington was being wishful. Ms. Clark certainly doesn't lack men eager to please her."
Natalie's eyes were sharp, like knives scraping across Lillian's face.
"Ms. Garcia, don't be so quick to enjoy others' misfortune. Think about yourself first."
As soon as she finished speaking, Brad's slightly surprised voice was heard.
"Mr. Kensington, someone is coming. It's Victor and Mr. Walker!"
Hearing Charlie's name, Lillian's face instantly turned extremely grim.
She glared at Natalie.
"When did you call for help?"
Every move Natalie made was clearly under her watch.
She hadn't even had a chance to take out her phone.
Natalie raised an eyebrow and shook the high heels in front of her.
With a smooth and crisp motion, she put the shoes back on.
She arrogantly lifted her chin.
"Do you know how expensive these high heels are? Losing something worth $1.6 million isn't important, but..."
The alarm on the heel was directly connected to the Clark family's surveillance.
How could the daughter of the Clark family go out without any precautions?
She was so naive!
Victor arrived quickly with bodyguards, surrounding the area tightly.
Seeing the scene, Charlie's eyes turned red with anger as he glared at Lillian.
His voice was cold and suppressed as he spoke to Natalie, "Did she hit you?"
