Chapter 415 His Sense of Crisis
Out of politeness, Natalie didn't ask.
Robert immediately noticed the change in Natalie's mood and gave a polite smile.
"Mike asked me to give this to you. He said you'd like it, but I don't think so."
As he spoke, he casually tossed the item onto a nearby table and reached out to greet Nathan.
He must be crazy to believe Mike when he said Natalie only likes chrysanthemums.
Natalie breathed a sigh of relief. So it was from Mike.
She hadn't seen him in a few days and found herself missing him a bit.
Her mood returned to normal, and after exchanging a few pleasantries, Nathan took a call, said a couple of words, and hung up.
"Let's go, everyone's here."
As they walked into the conference room, Natalie was slightly taken aback by the people inside.
Gabriel had come in person?
He sat in a wheelchair, yet it didn't seem out of place at all. His presence was commanding, and he could hold his own anywhere.
Natalie didn't say much about his arrival, and the meeting proceeded smoothly.
This project was originally a collaboration between Clark Group and Robert, and integrating ApexCorp directly into it, even without shares, would still bring significant benefits.
The brief meeting ended quickly.
Robert had more to discuss with Natalie, so the two of them went to her office.
In the conference room, Gabriel watched Natalie's back as she left, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Nathan couldn't help but chuckle, "Getting anxious?"
Gabriel squinted at Nathan, his gaze sharp, "Where's Dax?"
He didn't see Robert as a threat. Robert had a son and was deeply mourning his late wife. His return to the country was purely for business.
But the assistant who appeared around Natalie made him feel distinctly uneasy.
Before leaving, Jagger had said, "You can't let others get a chance. Even though Dax can't compare to you, he's charming and good-looking, with a knack for wooing women. You need to make him back off!"
Nathan, hands in his pockets, leaned against the table, his eyes narrowing with a smile.
"Mr. Kensington is feeling threatened?"
He waved towards a certain direction outside, and soon, Dax arrived.
Thinking Natalie needed him for something, Dax walked in only to see two big shots in the conference room, their presence cold and imposing, the atmosphere heavy with tension.
Dax, who hadn't seen much of the world, walked over nervously, hands clasped together, slightly bowing.
"Mr. Kensington, is there something you need me to do?"
He was here to assist with the project. They were the ones in charge, and he had to follow their instructions.
Gabriel sat in his wheelchair, his expression indifferent, but his presence overwhelming. Without saying a word, he exerted an invisible pressure.
He glanced at the meeting notes in front of him, then casually looked at the nervous and confused Dax standing there, his voice low and cold.
"What's your name?"
"I'm Dax, Mr. Kensington."
Gabriel said, "Alright."
He said nothing more.
The atmosphere fell into a dead silence.
Dax's youthful face couldn't hide his nervousness, his eyes even more confused.
So, what did they want him to do?
After a long while.
Gabriel finally spoke, "Just started working? Aaron didn't come with Ms. Clark?"
Dax stammered, then quickly nodded, "Yes, Aaron is on another project. I just started last month."
He stumbled over his words, having no presence in front of Gabriel.
Unconsciously, he answered Gabriel's questions.
Gabriel stared at him for a few seconds, squinting his eyes.
After a moment, he glanced downwards.
"This project is important. Don't let Ms. Clark down. You can go."
His words carried an innate arrogance and nobility.
"Yes."
Dax breathed a sigh of relief and quickly left the conference room.
He couldn't help but be surprised. That was it?
Nathan tapped the table. "That's it?"
