Chapter 242 The Play Flopped

Lillian's face went dark, her eyes practically shooting flames.

She was the head honcho of the Garcia Group, the big boss in Starhaven.

And yet, she kept getting disrespected.

Lillian shot a glare at the big guy next to her.

"What are you waiting for?"

The big guy got the message, his face serious as he stepped towards Natalie, ready to knock her out and drag her away. He figured it'd be easier that way.

Things were about to blow up.

Natalie's eyes swept over him, cold and unbothered.

She tightened her grip on the high heel she was holding.

The tension in the air was thick.

The big guy's fist appeared behind Natalie like a cold wind, and his left hand was about to seize her shoulder to restrain her move. Leo and Brad were momentarily stunned and were just about to warn her.

In a flash, Gabriel appeared, delivering a brutal kick to the big guy's stomach.

The kick nearly knocked the life out of him, making him feel like his insides were tearing apart.

The big guy hit the ground, barely breathing, unable to move.

Lillian froze.

Her guy was down for the count!

Swallowing her anger, she glared at Gabriel, teeth clenched.

"Mr. Kensington, playing the hero, are you?"

Gabriel's eyes were cold, filled with a deadly calm that could scare anyone.

Leo knew Gabriel hadn't thrown a punch in years, and that look in his eyes was terrifying!

"Lillian, you think you're all that? Your crappy company, you wanna lose it?"

Gabriel's voice was icy.

Seeing Natalie standing there barefoot, facing these three with bad intentions, a mix of panic, tension, and fear flashed through him.

But mostly, he was furious.

He'd seen the worst of the worst, but Natalie was pure, and he wouldn't let anyone mess with her.

He couldn't bear to think what would happen if Natalie lost.

His bloodshot eyes locked onto Lillian.

Whether to cooperate or not was his call.

There was no debt or compensation to discuss.

What right did Lillian have to negotiate with him?

After doing legit business for so long, Gabriel almost forgot how he clawed his way out of the darkness.

This situation brought out the darkest parts of him.

Lillian's face hardened, her plan to negotiate crumbling.

The stories about Gabriel in the business world were legendary.

Thinking they were equals was just her fantasy.

The Garcia Group might be big in Starhaven, but compared to the Kensington Group, it was nothing.

Lillian shot a nasty look at Natalie, a wicked smile on her lips.

Her voice was cold and sharp.

"Ms. Clark, you're really lucky. Even after the divorce, Mr. Kensington still has your back. You must be good with men. But next time, you won't be so lucky."

Natalie lowered her eyes, hiding her mockery.

Did Lillian really think there'd be a next time?

How naive!

She stood there, not even glancing at Gabriel.

She didn't care about his help.

Hearing Lillian's words, she couldn't help but look up, her cold gaze sweeping over everyone.

Finally, her eyes locked on Gabriel.

"Tonight's drama was quite the show, but..."

She paused, her voice lazy and casual.

"The performance was a flop."
